Jared, question. For the Legion 7i - where would you rank the 4060 version with the i7 vs the 4070 version? Here in the US they have the 4060 version for $1,299 for Black Friday. I doubt the 4070 would come down to that price, considering the vram and the tpg of both being the same I don’t see the performance to be that noticeable? I’ll like to know your thoughts on that..
Do you think the G14 with 16gb at $1150 with AMD processor and 4060 is still worth it? I'm looking for something light that will work for some video editing on the go and gaming. I have a powerful rig at home but I'm going to be moving around soon, so I'm looking for something that is lightweight.
@@sanderm4n51 4060 is on the higher side, given we've seen 4070 for 11% more money and it performs 20% better in games, makes the 4060 less value. That said my rankings here aren't specific to the specs I have listed.
hey jarod i recently got the msi vector 16 hx 2024 with a better qhd+ screen with a 4080 and i9 for a killer deal (i live in europe everything else 4080 is way too expensive) but for some reason u havnt reviewed it or talked about it at all this year, probably cus u reviewed the gp68hx last year which is basically the same but with that crapy screen, do you think i made the right choice and if so what rank would u place it in based on ur prior knowledge lol thanks!
LOQ has been a livesaver. I live in Kazakhstan and it is absolutely the best 4060/4070 laptop for the price (1400+ dollars, which is cheap for a laptop here). I was about to get 2k+ dollars for a similar set up from Asus
that is what i was thinking, it is a great budget laptop for people with little access to money (i'm one of them mind you even if i'm from 1st world country, i'm disable and don't work) it's miles better than the competition which give you shit at that price point. But if u are in a decent spot, save a bit more, the screen is utterly trash, maybe people can live with the average display but the response time are HORRIBLE, to the point i didnt realize i was getting depressed and not playing much. Second point is normally people buy the cheaper version, so they ended up like me with an 4 core cpu from intel, which is not enough for any competitive game, you can play at 60fps at most game, but so i 300-400 used pc can, if u read this DO NOT BUY I5s!!! go for amd or atleast a 6 core cpu (6 performance cpu, not ecores or hyperthreat) I bought an gigabyte aorus 16x to replace the loq, and mind you it has so many flaws, the keyboard makes me cry, the ports are so bad designed, but it is what i could do (atleast thermals and screen are superb), 1400 euros and i was stretching it, since covid the rules for financing are so high not even my parents can finance, idk what is the point of financing if u are rich in the first place, because poor or middle class can't anymore (with the bank my parents can but they have a life i can't expect them to have loans free) so i ended up with the most affordable one with a shitty loan company with tons of interest (81 euros month 2 years, when i saw an asus g18 for 54 for 36 months with 0 interest, dam i'm still mad) in the same page there was a asus g16 at 1800 but that was going to 140 euros month, i don't even have that much less in my goberment pay to get it and even if selling my old one and the steam deck would've been enough what the point of getting a laptop if i can't even buy a single game or mantain gamepass XD. Hope some days people realize autism people are not dumb and i can get a job. Resume if u don't want to read all (yes i know that i'm annoying, hence the resume xd) , if u want to buy loq, buy the 16 one not the 15, (the full hd screen is dogshit with horrible pixel response time and super dull) and don't ever buy an i5, 4 cores are not enough, buy ryzen 5 o 7 or intel starting from i7 or i5 13450hx (the only i5 with 6 real cores) Sorry for typing mistakes i'll fix later xd
@@EtoYouMadeThis If u think those fan are loud don't try the gigabyte aorus 16x, at max speed they feel they are about to break, sound even louder than the hundred dollars coolers on amazon (Iets 600 etc) but you can use it on your lap without overheating, first laptop i don't need to put a cooler below XD For comparision, the loq with i5 12450h (a low power budget gaming wise) was at 95ºC at heavy cpu intensive games with an klim everest cooler) with the gigabyte with i7 13650hx those same games i have 75ºC with NO COOLER, with the laptop in my lap, which is absurd, you can always lower the fans and put the gaming cooler on top if u want less noise, but better to have options to choose, in lenovo loq you can't even control the fans
After 11 years of playing on the same outdated ASUS laptop with a GTX 964m graphics, im finally pulling the trigger on the LOQ 15. Thanks man, I would not have known what I was buying without your videos!
@@estebanespinola9340 How did you find it for so that low price?!! In my country LOQ 15 with 4060 and i5-12450H cost for 1150 dollars, I bought, but i really wanted to buy slim 5, but what I said in the past these legion/ legion slim expensive.
I’ve got the 2022 version and mines just died :(( make sure you extend the warranty!! Cuz at some point you’ll get the black screen of death it’s v v common in the legion laptops
When mentioning the G16 I would suggest putting Zephyrus or Zeph. (for short) in front of it , so some ppl wouldn't confuse it for DELL G16 or the STRIX G16
@@antalpotiDo you have a core 15? How is it? I am thinking about buying one since i've Seen a rtx4070 one for 1500€ but i dont know that much about then.
Are the ASUS TUF series better than Acer Nitro series? I dont even see the Nitro on this list, but it sells like hot cake. I've heard that ASUS TUF have a better screen and plastic structure. Looking to buy either ASUS or Acer so i am curious. Lenovo is rly nice but somehow i am not willing to spend aroun 1k more on laptop. By the way amazing videos! :)
Can't say much about Acer but my friend has an Asus TUF with a 1050ti which is really old and it still runs well enough. I think TUF is a good choice if you choose to go for it.
Choosing a laptop has gotten increasingly more difficult and frustrating. Wanting a 17-18incher, I had zeroed in on the Asus ROG at around 1500-1800 dollars. But here you only discuss the computers themselves and not the very important Manufacturer trustworthiness and integrity that will be so important if you get a dud, and there seem to be mucho reviews speaking about Asus and their race to the bottom in that aspect.
I just ordered a f16 with i7-14th gen, 4060, 96gb ram 🥲 and 4tb storage. Finally upgrading my old Alienware r17 r5 with i7-8th gen, 32gb ram and 1070gpu
@@adhishwarnarayantiwari415I have this one that’s been 2 weeks I have been bought this that’s best but battery is getting down fast if you use 2k 165hz that take 2 hours but on fhd is soo good that take 3-6 hours that’s best 👍
@@adhishwarnarayantiwari415 Battery life is so-so, it's a gaming laptop so you're gonna have it plugged in most of the time. Cooling is fantastic. Plenty of ports thanks to it being the Pro variant. I got myself the 240hz variant and the screen looks wonderful.
Bought scar 18 with rtx 4080, 4tb SSD, 64gb ram, mini led, way cheaper then legion 7 pro, 7i with 1 TB SSD and 32 gb ram. I found black Friday sale in my country just for Scar laptops. With 3 year warranty
I know you didn't have the following but thought I should mention that the MSI Vector 16 HX has Gen 5 and Gen 4 M.2 slots, full size SD card reader, Thunderbolt 4, Steel series individually addressable RGB keyboard, 100w USB C charging, is able to run 198GB DDR5, trades blows with Titan in overall gaming performance and was eventually cheaper than many mentioned in this list at £1,495 (£100 more during the year) for an RTX 4080 175w with 13980hx or a few pounds more for the 14900hx of the same spec. Also the 4080 iteration is noted to be the fastest factory 4080 laptop on the market and trades blows with many 4090 laptops available. Notebookcheck claims the 4080 iteration "MSI Vector 16 HX laptop review: Titan performance without the Titan price". I doesn't have G-sync or RGB but it's fast, cool and great for content creation and gaming.
You always make me feel bad for buying a Razer hahaha but the specs that I chose was hard to get in other laptops and the price was fairly the same. RTX 4070 32Gb Ram + 2 TB SSD, and the 240hz screen in a 15inch Laptop (Blade 15) so maybe I picked the right choice as well as for the weight.
@@mcslender2965 I bought the razer in 2023. I dont know if those specs were out in the G16 that year. But you are right a 2024 G16 does have the same specs as the one I wrote in the comment. :o
Recently purchased the loq ryzen 7 edition with a rtx 4050, I've being absolutely loving it , and i watched all your review videos about it before purchase so thanks , definitely recommend your channel to anyone needing a new rig
It all depends on your region. For instance, in my country G14 is around 2010$ while A14 is 1435$. So in my case, it is G14 that is way overpriced. I guess maybe it has all to do with the branding & what is considered "premium" ? A14 for example has plastic keyboard deck - which is why it may be considered "lower tier" product... but I am not sure if this is the reason. So in my country you basically need to pay a "premium tax" for G14, while it is not necessarily better in every aspect than A14. For me, for example, if A14 had that all-metal build it would be no brainier descension - especially at this price-point.
I just found your chanel like a few days ago, and it’s pretty good, this Black Friday i’ll buy a LOQ 15.6 with ryzen 7 and RTX 4060, this will be my first gaming laptop in my life and now thanks to you i know that this is a good choice, mew subscriber!
After mentioning the Legion 7i being probably the exception that might probably beat the Legion 5 and probably rank the top of the list, I was amused with the comparison comments with the Zephyrus G16 that besides the memory upgradable slots and probably the slightly better performance in few of the games G16 was beating it all the rest of mentioned things Oled 240HZ screen, better battery, slimmer and lighter for better portability and not even at a higher price... I would also mention that for any gamer that at least wants to game on a laptop a higher 16inch laptop is probably a better option than any of the 14inch options (that is of course when you also get the best portability that you can get for a gaming laptop currently on the market and do not compromise on that aspect either - and yes zephyrus g16 nails it on that aspect)... so yeah... not to take from the rest, but G16 is definitely an S tier and arguably at the top of the list.
When talking about the LOQ there needs to be listing of the model number not just release year. It clears things up a lot. As per Lenovo website (Australian version, may be different elsewhere) the three 12th gen Intels they released this year are: 15IAX9E (the new Essential); 15IAX9I (the ARC) and 15IAX9 (still 12th gen Intel but goes up to rtx4050). 15IRX9 has the more recent Intel and 15AHP9 is the more recent Ryzen. It would be interesting to see that sales pie chart showing LOQ dominance with a breakdown of which actual models were sold. I was thinking about the Essential this week because its cheap and I only need basic-mid gaming functions, but I just had a look on the platform specs on Lenovo website and I don think the 15IAX9E has Advanced Optimus. It is not specifically listed, whereas the other RTX models have it stated. I realise this would still have been a great laptop a couple of years ago, but it seems like a weird backward step for the LOQ brand.
MSI Titan 18, this can be ranked as number 1, as I am using this from last year, and this is the best gaming laptop. I have come across. You guys can also prefer this laptop , if you are planning to buy
Watching this on my Legion 5. Honestly, this laptop performs better than I was expecting. It does everything with ease. I would only upgrade the RAM, as 16gb can be a bit low nowadays, but it's enough by all means. The speakers are not the best, but honestly - you can't expect much from a laptop anyway. Most people use a headset or monitor speakers, so I can't even describe it as a con. Highly recommend it!
Last year the hinges on my MSI broke, they fixed under warranty...it broke again last week so I watched this video and ditched the MSI and bought the Lenovo 5 at Costco with stores 2 year warranty for $1088...added another year for $99 making it covered for 3years...my desktop is a Lenovo and it works great...great company
In my country, the G14 w/ 8945HS 32GB RAM RTX4060 costs about $2300. Meanwhile, the TUF A14 w/ HX370 32GB RAM RTX4060 costs about $1780. That $520 difference is enough to make the A14 worth the price if you're looking a "cheaper" G14.
I jumped on the HP Omen Transcend 14 in late March before the G14 was widely promoted or available. Head to head, I would also choose the G14...BUT, since I am stuck with the Omen, I have learned to appreciate its unique features: 1. The keyboard is sublime: Best laptop keyboard ever in terms of feel (not looks, although I think the black version looks really good). Much better than my Macbook Air M3. 2. USB-c charging: Sure this is the primary reason it is underpowered, but you should see the small laptop bag that I can carry around with a tiny Ugreen 140W charger and TWO laptops, the Omen and Macbook Air M3. 3. It is insanely quiet for a gaming laptop IF you are willing to use software tricks, like Lossless Scaling on Steam, for upscaling and framegen. Eco mode with quiet fans, cool temps, and 120 FPS is insane but possible on this laptop.
@@adhishwarnarayantiwari415 Cons: 1. Generally, the HP Omen Transcend 14 costs a little more than the G14, and 2. Because the Omen caps the Nvidia GPU to 65 watts (as opposed to I think 90 watts on the G14), the performance of the HP is 20% slower than the G14. Now with those software tricks (Lossless Scaling), IMHO, that speed difference becomes null and void, but some people feel that is cheating (like DLSS framegen) and not "real" frames. I have seen the results with LS on the HP and I think it is really good...good enough to run in ECO mode with whisper quiet fans AND enjoy the game at 120 FPS. But everyone is different.
Big fan of your videos. Come stop by the Govee booth if you’re around the Venetian during CES. We’ll have a booth there and would be great meeting you!
I recently ordered a Legion pro 5i with i9 14900HX, 32 gb ram, RTX 4070, 1tb SSD, and a 240hz 100% DCI-P3 screen for around $1,480 from Lenovo itself. The price was even $100 less earlier but I didn’t manage to snag it in time. They said it’s gonna take a couple weeks to deliver because it needs to be assembled for the specs I chose. Hopefully it’s good.
First of all really appreciate all the content that you put out it has been an immense help making a purchase decision for my gaming laptop. Secondly, we would still like to see last year models ranked in the 2024 list (like the legion pro 7, which I bagged in the black friday sales thanks to you). Because we wanna know how that particular model fits in with the new releases, and since it's Still being sold and is fairly new so ranking it again according to new releases will be beneficial imo.
Something that would be nice to see on the deals website is a timestamp on when was it last updated, eg if I visit it few times a week to quickly check if anything changed or not
Great video!! 🙌🏻 Thank you for mentioning the LOQ motherboard issue, I was being really paranoid but your words have given me some confidence in LOQ. In India the LOQ is around $700-800 so I was thinking about waiting for the A14 to go on sale since I really loved it and is probably my favourite of all laptops considering the 7 8845HS version since its a little cheaper. But now maybe I will go for the LOQ since an A14 wont fall from the sky into my hands😂
Just bought Lenovo Legion 5 with i9-14900, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, rtx4060, 165hz, windows 11 for $1099 today from Costco. Seemed like a good deal for the money. Using for video editing and photoshop not games.
Currently eyeing an ASUS TUF A15 with R7 7435HS and 4060 for USD 1150 converted (PHP 66,999). Since I'm planning to buy this laptop in about 3-4 months and with CES coming at the start of the new year, I'm hoping that the prices would go lower than what it is today.
Good stuff as always Jarrod, ty! Based on last year and this year’s list, I think you should put more laptops in the D, E, and F tiers. You’re too generous in granting some laptops a rank or two up this list. Sure an individual product could move up or down this list based on a particular user’s needs, but each person can figure those details out for themselves (however, it is AWESOME that you vocalize the internal debate as you decide where to place a given sku). Example: last year you only had two F tier laptops, and this year just one. No problem there, maybe competition is fierce and OEMs are fighting hard to beat the competition, and we are mostly seeing quality products on the market with few outright bad options. The E tier on the other hand: zero laptops this year, and only 1 last year. Use it (more) or lose it Jarrod? Keep it simple man!
If you plan to buy asus scar series in the next few years or so, buy the scar 16 instead of scar 18. It's basically a 16 inched cheaper scar 18, and a rival to the legion 7i as they are similarly priced, plus it comes with a mini-led while the legion 7i doesn't.
Ive heard that the mobo issues on LOQ laptops are mostly happening in India. I have seen a few mobo issues in my country aswell so im kind of worried about whether i should buy a LOQ or not. I was thinking about buying 83GS007XTR (RTX4060,I5-12450HX) but after reading about this issue i started thinking about buying a HP Victus instead. Im still not sure which brand i will be fine with for atleast 4-5 years. LOQ is looking good overall compared to other laptops in the same price range. And the mobo issues of it even though it still makes me worried looks like its not a big deal atleast it looks like that for my country. What would you suggest by the way? Victus or LOQ? or maybe TUF A15 with RTX4050s?
Same question here. The mobo issues are making me question buying loq and maybe going for helios neo 16 or nitro v. I don't feel like taking that risk is gonna be worth it personally.
this can be depends on your luck. I got myself an i7 13650hx_4060 module about 10 month ago and works perfectly. I played a lot of game's in a terreble tempreture condition( like 43C) and it didn't disapoint me. But the battery life won't be satisfy you
never had MOBO issues but screen display issue is common, but warranty is a lifesaver, lenovo replacyed my screen free of charge. But, yeah, screen display problem.
7:22 Incorrect, Strix Point CAN have slotted SO-DIMM or LP-CAMM2 RAM according to AMD'S own spec page. It's just that no OEM is offering that at the moment.
Yeah, it was meant to happen in 2025, I was told laptops like TUF A14 that were meant to have a SODIMM option next year have been cancelled though. Don't know why, or why AMD limited SODIMM options for like 6 months after launch.
I’m gonna buy a Acer Predator Helios 18 (2024) with a I9 14900 and a RTX 4090 graphics card For my design work If you have any other recommendations could anyone reply to me?
I have no personal experience with Asus, but I have been reading quite a few complaints about poor customer service. It may depend on where you live, but in some places (like the US) it might be better to purchase through a store and get the store warranty rather than buy directly from Asus.
There is a sale in Canada on the Intel ultra 9 185 G16 4060 ($2000) vs amd ryzen 9 AI HX 370 G16 4060 ($2700). Concerned with battery life during work and emails and the longevity down the road, hope I made the right choice.
Just for some info I have had the legion 7i for a few months now and I would definitely say its one of the best looking laptops you will see in person. Performance is good but if you touch the right side of the laptop while gaming it may wven give you burns(because the metal body heats up a lot lot more than any plastic body would). Second problem is the wifi card. It is some realtek card and if you play fps games after some time you will see a lot of packet loss and packet delays. Thinking of changing it into a intel card but not sure whether to do it on my own or through the dealer.
An Acer Predator Helios 16 w/ i9-14900HX + RTX 4070 + 32GB RAM for $1700 Or Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with practically the same specs for $2040 Which one would be a better buy?
Man it's been such a struggle to pick a laptop with a 4080 and 32GB of memory. The Legion Pro 7 is a great choice, but the screen is the only reason I'm hesitant, my current monitor is an IPS with 95% DCI-P3; 5% extra coverage if I get a good example isn't really an upgrade, and for the photo/video editing I'm doing IPS becomes a pain in the ass to stare at after a while. The Acer Helios 16 is unquestionably the best deal I can find on a laptop with a mini-LED (or OLED) display and a 4080, but it's shockingly difficult to find reviews on the non-Neo version of it, and the few reviews I did find said it's build quality wasn't up to the price. I'm planning on using this thing as a mobile workstation while out wherever I happen to be in my car, so build quality is at least a bit of a concern to me. I'm tempted to compromise on GPU performance and get a P/G16 with a 4070, but man...the scope of what I wanna do with my camera keeps getting wider, and those laptops score about 10% lower on Puget Bench for Resolve than my 3 year old desktop that I paid $1650 to build, and they both cost a bit more. I'd prefer a 16" laptop since I wanna use this in a car, so I really really don't want the G18 or Helios 18 or M18. I started looking for laptops probably a month ago and in that time I've learned how to make spreadsheets so I could create a ranked list of mobile CPU's and GPU's based on performance using 4+ benchmark results, mostly because I got frustrated by the lack of lists that exist with any clear indication of how they're ordered. Oh and because chip manufacturers (lookin' at you, AMD) intentionally made it as confusing as possible to know what the hell you're buying. I also included performance per watt for the CPU's, and a % difference from the top performing chip in each category, because I need every tiny bit of info I can get to make a decision, or I have too much free time. I still feel no closer to making a decision, but at least I have a fancy list to reference. I feel so stuck lol.
I don't think it's possible, there's too much subjectivity. What's perfect for you is garbage for someone else, as covered in 0:51 Important Disclaimers
What do you guys think about this gaming laptop ? Is it worth to spend 1600€ and will it handle older and new AAA games really well ? Notebook Acer Gaming Nitro 17, NH.QSCEX.006, 17.3" 2K IPS 165Hz, AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS up to 5.2GHz, 32GB DDR5, 1TB NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX4070 8GB
I have been using Alienware m16 R1 AMD with rtx 4080 for about an year now. Yes there are issues with the machine but Dell customer support is so good, it makes that machine a S tier to me. I have replace my motherboard and Screen under warranty and dell support was always good at understanding and resolving the issues even with a machine which is not available in my country (I bought it from US and I live in India)
What GPU? Assuming 4070 that's the lowest we've had it for on the deals site, so it's not too bad as most 4070s in cheaper designs like nitro/victus are usually only 100 cheaper.
Yep, it is the 4070, I am considering it and not the 899€ LOQ 2023 because of the Ryzen 7 7th gen and the screen, just like guy up there said. The question is would the 400€ price difference be worth it for a better screen and slightly better CPU and Thermals.
@@Thenormalone250 So what do you think about the Aorus 16X please, is the software still bad ? are the fans really that load and the would go on randomly ? is it true that the charging port doesnt go all the way in ?
i love your honest reviews jarrod. I could have purchased the Legion 7i for 1900 can $ but once i found out the ports were last gen. I decided not to even the sd UHS-1 and some ports are Gen 1. THANKS for helping make informed purchase decisions
The Cyborg 14 with RTX 4060 has been as low as $750-800 on sale. At that price, I would say it’s a B-tier laptop. Not as performant or feature-rich but a very good value for the size and screen quality.
I would really like an evaluation of the Acer Helios 18, which in its version with mini LED screen and RTX 4090 is priced at $2399. Just looking at the hardware, it seems like an unbeatable value for money at the moment. I'm in doubt between the Helios RTX 4090 (mini led + 1TB) for $2399, the Strix RTX 4080 (2TB) for $2199 and the Legion Pro 7i RTX 4080 (1TB) for $1999. I would really appreciate it if you could give your opinion on my choice!
I have these 3 versions of these versions of the LOQ available i5 12450HX - 3050 6GB - 24GB RAM - 512 SSD *Cheapest* for around 150$ more I can get i7 13650HX - 3050 6GB - 16GB RAM - 512 SSD or at the same price I can have one with the AMD (without the iGPU) R7 - 7453HS now there are two configurations 16GB RAM - 512 SSD - 4060 8GB 24GB RAM - 1TB SSD - 4050 6GB Naturally I'd go for the 4060 model disregarding all the other downsides but I'd really like your (and anyone else's opinion)
What would you buy between Legion 7i (4070) and Legion Pro 7i (4080)? Is there a huge difference in performance? I need it for 3d rendering. I just think that the Pro is maybe too heavy to carry around but if the difference in performance is huge I would consider buying it, let me know please!
Where would you rank the MSI Katana 15? Got one with i7-13620, RTX 4070, 32GB and 1TB SSD. I nearly got the Gigabyte G5, also with i7-13620, RTX 4060, 32GB and 1TB SSD. Given your low opinion of the G6X, I guess it was a good thing I didn't get the G5.
@JarrodsTech I would agree with that assessment but at the time I bought it, it was at a very reasonable price. I don't regret buying it though, even with the complaints I have with it.
The Katana 15´s GPU seems to be power limited so your 4070 performs like a 4060. The ASUS F15 for example (about 120€ more in my country) has full 140W 4070 built in for example
ASUS - ROG Strix 18" QHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel 14th Gen Core i9 with 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 - 2TB SSD - Eclipse Gray is the best deal right now at best buy. $2,199
I can't believe how much more expensive these are in Canada! The Zephyrus G6 was $1399? Current price in Canada is $2999! This makes no sense since the currency conversion suggests it should be $1999 but it is $1,000 more than that! I don't get it...
Hey, I bought it on mediamarkt germany for the same price. I really love that Aorus. It has a very good and bright display, very good performance and good audio speakers. Wifi 7 and a good cpu. There are lot of things that I appreciated on that Laptop. But there is very good alternative on computer universe germany. Lenovo LOQ with rtx 4070 for 899 Euro. I will keep my aorus. But if you look for a alternative with a very good price this could be yours.
What GPU? Assuming 4070 that's the lowest we've had it for on the deals site, so it's not too bad as most 4070s in cheaper designs like nitro/victus are usually only 100 cheaper.

@@RavenTM623 The 2024 model? Lowest we've seen so far is $1099 so that's not far off.

LOQ has been a livesaver. I live in Kazakhstan and it is absolutely the best 4060/4070 laptop for the price (1400+ dollars, which is cheap for a laptop here). I was about to get 2k+ dollars for a similar set up from Asus
motherboard gonna go boom boom
My friend keep running into frequent crashes/BSOD with the loq 15 lol (he got it a week ago and rn hes still trying to fix it)
that is what i was thinking, it is a great budget laptop for people with little access to money (i'm one of them mind you even if i'm from 1st world country, i'm disable and don't work) it's miles better than the competition which give you shit at that price point.
But if u are in a decent spot, save a bit more, the screen is utterly trash, maybe people can live with the average display but the response time are HORRIBLE, to the point i didnt realize i was getting depressed and not playing much.
Second point is normally people buy the cheaper version, so they ended up like me with an 4 core cpu from intel, which is not enough for any competitive game, you can play at 60fps at most game, but so i 300-400 used pc can, if u read this DO NOT BUY I5s!!! go for amd or atleast a 6 core cpu (6 performance cpu, not ecores or hyperthreat)
I bought an gigabyte aorus 16x to replace the loq, and mind you it has so many flaws, the keyboard makes me cry, the ports are so bad designed, but it is what i could do (atleast thermals and screen are superb), 1400 euros and i was stretching it, since covid the rules for financing are so high not even my parents can finance, idk what is the point of financing if u are rich in the first place, because poor or middle class can't anymore (with the bank my parents can but they have a life i can't expect them to have loans free) so i ended up with the most affordable one with a shitty loan company with tons of interest (81 euros month 2 years, when i saw an asus g18 for 54 for 36 months with 0 interest, dam i'm still mad) in the same page there was a asus g16 at 1800 but that was going to 140 euros month, i don't even have that much less in my goberment pay to get it and even if selling my old one and the steam deck would've been enough what the point of getting a laptop if i can't even buy a single game or mantain gamepass XD.
Hope some days people realize autism people are not dumb and i can get a job.
Resume if u don't want to read all (yes i know that i'm annoying, hence the resume xd) , if u want to buy loq, buy the 16 one not the 15, (the full hd screen is dogshit with horrible pixel response time and super dull) and don't ever buy an i5, 4 cores are not enough, buy ryzen 5 o 7 or intel starting from i7 or i5 13450hx (the only i5 with 6 real cores)
Sorry for typing mistakes i'll fix later xd
I got the 2023 version last christmas, the only problem I’ve had is the fans bearings needing to be switched but other than that it’s amazing
@@EtoYouMadeThis If u think those fan are loud don't try the gigabyte aorus 16x, at max speed they feel they are about to break, sound even louder than the hundred dollars coolers on amazon (Iets 600 etc) but you can use it on your lap without overheating, first laptop i don't need to put a cooler below XD
For comparision, the loq with i5 12450h (a low power budget gaming wise) was at 95ºC at heavy cpu intensive games with an klim everest cooler) with the gigabyte with i7 13650hx those same games i have 75ºC with NO COOLER, with the laptop in my lap, which is absurd, you can always lower the fans and put the gaming cooler on top if u want less noise, but better to have options to choose, in lenovo loq you can't even control the fans

Love the In Flames shirt!
Nice!!! New list... cant wait to see this..👌
Last year the hinges on my MSI broke, they fixed under warranty...it broke again last week so I watched this video and ditched the MSI and bought the Lenovo 5 at Costco with stores 2 year warranty for $1088...added another year for $99 making it covered for 3years...my desktop is a Lenovo and it works great...great company
Great ranking video Jarrod. Thank you for all the hard work you put in.🤗
In my country, the G14 w/ 8945HS 32GB RAM RTX4060 costs about $2300.
What's the con?

Just for some info I have had the legion 7i for a few months now and I would definitely say its one of the best looking laptops you will see in person.
Feels like an objective scorecard would be helpful. Seems like some laptops were knocked for price, cooling sound, while others weren't.
I don't think it's possible, there's too much subjectivity. What's perfect for you is garbage for someone else, as covered in 0:51 Important Disclaimers
Got a 2024 Legion 5i / i7-13650hx / rtx 4060 - $879! Cyber monday. Watched this and its S Tier! Record low price too
What do you guys think about this gaming laptop ?
I have replace my motherboard and Screen under warranty and dell support was always good at understanding and resolving the issues even with a machine which is not available in my country (I bought it from US and I live in India)

would the Aorus 16X still be worth it if it comes with last year's i7 13650HX for 1299€ in Germany ?
Happy to help!

LOQ 15 is the budget gaming king in 2024. I got 12450H + 4060 + 3yrs Adp for just 880$
Happily watching this on my "S tier" G14. 😎

What about the Asus Tuf A15 ryzen 9 8945H RTX4070 ?? I can't find reviews any where for the 8945H , please do a review
not what you are asking for exactly but the A16 with 7845HX is really powerful with that cpu

Dell G16?
Yes ma boy !
IMHO, G16 should be S-tier. It is not cheap but 32 GB, 4090 variant is the best gaming notebook money can buy right now.
I have these 3 versions of these versions of the LOQ available
i5 12450HX - 3050 6GB - 24GB RAM - 512 SSD *Cheapest* for around 150$ more I can get
i7 13650HX - 3050 6GB - 16GB RAM - 512 SSD or at the same price I can have one with the AMD (without the iGPU)
R7 - 7453HS
now there are two configurations
16GB RAM - 512 SSD - 4060 8GB
24GB RAM - 1TB SSD - 4050 6GB
Naturally I'd go for the 4060 model disregarding all the other downsides but I'd really like your (and anyone else's opinion)
a good laptop is the one that works for over 10 years and still continues to
What would you buy between Legion 7i (4070) and Legion Pro 7i (4080)? Is there a huge difference in performance? I need it for 3d rendering. I just think that the Pro is maybe too heavy to carry around but if the difference in performance is huge I would consider buying it, let me know please!
what windows laptop to buy?
Be cool if you did a vid discussing control panel software from all the major brands. Discussing how they work and ranking them.
Tough to have them all available at once.
@ would be a cool video. It’s definitely a big part of the purchase decision imo.
Tip: every tier list video should have a cropped image of the completed tier list at the end of the video with enough time to take a screenshot
ok next time
Where would you rank the MSI Katana 15? Got one with i7-13620, RTX 4070, 32GB and 1TB SSD.
I nearly got the Gigabyte G5, also with i7-13620, RTX 4060, 32GB and 1TB SSD. Given your low opinion of the G6X, I guess it was a good thing I didn't get the G5.
Haven't tested it so cannot say, can't imagine it's above C tier though
@JarrodsTech I would agree with that assessment but at the time I bought it, it was at a very reasonable price. I don't regret buying it though, even with the complaints I have with it.
The Katana 15´s GPU seems to be power limited so your 4070 performs like a 4060. The ASUS F15 for example (about 120€ more in my country) has full 140W 4070 built in for example
tbh I like the warm air blowing over the mouse hand.. I remember when gamer gloves were a thing 😭😭
The Neo 16 just dropped to 1000 dollars is it good for a beginner
Yes
where are ryzen laptops ?
LOQ 4050 version that I have has a display issue, Lenovo service said they will get it fixed tmrw so all good
Where is the Strix G series?? you only mention Scar series and 2 TUF??? THE G THERE ARE ZEPHYRUS ONLY.
