I recently came out of the NAR/WoF movement and I have never heard the Gospel presented this way. Last night I told God I was afraid of dying because I knew I would stand before Him. Then this was on my feed today. I'm crying, repenting, and joyous! What a wonderful, amazing Father!! I am a sinner saved by Grace and clothed in His righteousness! Thank you for sharing the Good News!
That's great, but just know that "reformed" / "calvinist" Christianity is NOT the sole alternative to what you came out of - seek, study, pray, research, get diverse sources. While the denomination/positions espoused here on this channel are small "o" orthodox in that they present a gospel with the power of salvation, and are in that sense valid, I recommend you check out Soteriology 101 (YT channel) to learn about some of the issues with calvinism. We can be brothers/sisters in the faith, all saved by grace, but still we should always seek an even better and more correct and fuller understanding of spiritual truths. There will be no excuses for any of us to just follow a church/denomination/pastor and be settled in any degree of error... no man or church is perfect in it's doctrine, I think that's an obvious and fair and logical conclusion, and having perfect doctrine is, thankfully, not the measuring rod or determiner of who is saved and goes to heaven. Nonetheless, it is your responsibility to pursue wisdom and truth even when, potentially, a good group of genuine believers who are siloed into their own strictly defined theology and confessions tell you you're doing something wrong by questioning certain points and venturing outside of THEIR particular "historical" basis for doctrine, in this case man-made confessions (reformed/calvinistic mainline protestant denominations). Compared to NAR/WoF, someone like Leighton Flowers (soteriology 101) and any non-calvinistic Baptist tradition, whether Independent, Southern, Free-will, etc. are ten times more similar to a Presbyterian or reformed Baptist like Todd Friel than he is to the heretical movement you came out of. That doesn't mean the disagreements are trivial and do not matter - Truth matters! But again... small "o" orthodoxy, that umbrella, includes many conservative non-denominational traditions and historic denominations, and we can fellowship together and trust that we share a genuine gospel that is able to save. I hope that makes sense, and again please check out Soteriology 101. I watch/read content from both camps which I think is healthy - but do not be ignorant about the other, and the in-house debates and the reasoning and relevant scriptures and their interpretation.
Praise God for his new birth. You are now a new creation in Christ. You are seated in heavenly places, in Christ''s righteousness. To round out the free gift of our heavenly perfection in Christ, he now lives his perfect life through you. WOW! And this was all accomplished by Christ for a dead sinner. Rest in your perfect position in Christ and you will grow into Christ's likeness on earth. Praise God for his free gift of our heavenly resting place and the growth resting in the vine produces.
Thank you, Todd!! I’ve been backslidden very long, my husband passed away many years ago, I got severely depressed, and the sadness was SO deep, but I saw myself as being a religious kid, where I didn’t want to express my emotions, but rather I saw myself, like when my father passed away, just stuffing my feelings, and not wanting to let God in, thinking I had to be a super Christian, and NEVER allow myself to feel weakness, especially because my own father was a perfectionist, so I wanted to hide myself! I couldn’t even understand why God would answer my prayers and never opened up to God!! I actually backslid because I thought God was unhappy with decisions I made, and I wanted more than anything to make Him happy!! I thought I needed to EARN His love, but no matter what I did, I couldn’t! I grew up with a lot of rejection, and couldn’t understand why anyone would love me, this video has helped me SO much!! God bless you, and Wretched radio!!
I felt gut punched when you said justification is just a means to an end, and then when you said adopted into Gods family, that I am all cleaned up by Jesus, I just lost it….. I don’t cry normally. I don’t know how to say thank you Todd. God bless you.
@RhondaWiltse-rh9os Justification declares you legally not guilty because Christ turns away God's wrath by taking the penalty in your place on the cross. Sanctification is a gradual dying to old sinful habits and living a life of Christian habits. Only at the day that we die are we glorified by the Spirit and become sinless.
@@cranmer1959 Thank you for those clarifications. I have been so focused on studying and learning and just being grateful that I am forgiven, I forgot about the intimate relationship part. I have been too focused on legalistics.
Honestly was initially thinking this episode was an indictment of Wes and his conversation with Joe and I was bummed. Because I think I agree with another creator who said “Wes is an apologist, not an evangelist AND Joe Rogan actually seemed to be able to articulate the Gospel rather well for a non-believer under a lot of crummy teaching”- I agreed with that. But after a few minutes watching this I realized that what this video is actually doing is correcting the false belief that talking about Christianity is sharing the Gospel- which is absolutely an accurate statement. Good take.
The Bible never tries to prove itself to be the Word of God. The Bible also never tries to prove the existence of God. The whole exercise was just a back and forth over disputable evidences. My approach would have been to show Joe how inconsistent he is by taking his own position by "faith". Fake news is not trustworthy and neither is secular historiography or worldly "science" that bases itself on ever changing theories.
Nothing wrong with this comment, but I still think that there is no explicit way to evangelize. 1 Cor. 3:6-11 I liked this video, but at this point we're just defining terms…
This was my take, as well. Wouldn't argue with the content here, but I'd be careful stacking a lot of the guys mentioned here against Osteen - I mean come on, that guy is Christianity's Used Car Salesman.
I didn't know how much I needed to hear this until I hit the end. As a believer who's been rescued by Christ, I am downtrodden by my past sins, but to remember that through Christ are adopted is indeed very encouraging and causes me to rejoice. Thanks Fortis team.
I am thankful for a man that preaches the GOSPEL! The true Gospel has been watered down so much a lot of Christians can't even define what it means. Powerful message Todd. I am thankful for your messages.
I was a sinner, a lawbreaker, a villain; now I am an adopted son of God, with a claim to an inheritance to which I have no right apart from the blood of Jesus.
In almost 30 years since accepting the gospel message of salvation, which during this time I have experienced multiple faith crises, clung to sin, feared man, drifted into secularism, to now finally feeling as if I have been plucked out of that muck and placed on solid ground through the grace of God and the faith given to me by finally having a biblical worldview. I hope and pray that my I will have opportunities and the unction to articulate the gospel with the boldness and humility that I witnessed here.
This could be my story except it's been over 40years. After 20yrs I slipped away from God due to hurt within the church. Now God (thank you Lord ) is calling me back.
I am drenched with tears; I’ve realised I’ve been timid before God, too much so; justified by faith brought into relationship by Jesus and not of any of my doing
The last 15 min of this video literally set me free. Every little sin I would commit would send me off a cliff knowing what I deserve (not to mention my past sins before trusting in Christ). It got to the point where i was honestly hopeless. I felt so afraid because there was no way God could actually WANT me… so I thought. Bless you Todd for this amazing truth.
He has promised to 'NEVER leave nor forsake us'. I hold on to that and as I look at a life full of missteps and outright rebellion...even as a Christian....I can tell you He has KEPT that promise.
Thank you for the wake up call. It's been so long since hearing that we are the sons (and daughters) of God. It's one thing to say I'm a child of God, but are you cherishing the relationship, and living your life knowing He is your loving father. I haven't for so long. Thank you for yanking me back to reality.
I long to weep for Jesus. It bothers me and causes me stress. I know God has changed me. I have completely new desires and interests, and I'm following His commandments more and more everyday. But I CAN'T WEEP. I pray God gives me the privilege to shed tears for Him one day.
God is sending out invitations for us to come to Christ. When you receive willfully God’s gift to us (believing on Christ for salvation) you are permanently & fully saved. Our faith is like this :a Moment of Confession, followed by a Lifetime of conversion. Salvation is God’s gift to us. Sanctification (leading us away from sin) is God’s will for us! 1 we will never become sinless but we will sin less 27:59
What a powerful video. I've been a Christian many years and thought I knew how to present the gospel, but I have never focused on my adoption. I have ignored that part of my salvation for so long. Todd, thank you for opening my eyes.
For those of you complaining about this video, Todd said himself that he’s being nitpicky. He also clearly praised Wes for how well he did in the realms of apologetics. What he is presenting here is simply the difference between DEFENDING the Gospel and PRESENTING the Gospel. That’s it. He’s not condemning Wes at all. He’s speaking out against those that are so quick to declare that Huff’s conversation with Rogan was indeed a presentation of the Gospel. What is being presented here is wonderful if you listen to the whole thing through without getting hung up on misunderstanding Todd’s intentions.
Great comment, James. For those of us who know the gospel and were watching the Joe/Wes interview, I can only say he was so close. I was on the edge of my seat when Wes asked Joe what he thought of Jesus, and when it ended, I said Noooo!!! Wes was undoubtedly going to share the gospel, but unfortunately, he was interrupted, and the interview ended. I am confident Joe heard the gospel. I don't think Wes would have had it otherwise 🙏 But as far as what Todd said, he was absolutely correct.
Re: Wes and Rogan … For the Rogan platform, I think the format was amazing. You think the first hour is insignificant, but Joe is laying the platform with a bunch of things brought up in rebuttal to Christianity… all the what abouts; and Wes did a fantastic job with his responses, communicating what was relevant and what was not lol. The second hour they go into basically all Wes’ credentials and how he knows what he is talking about and why you should listen to him as opposed to the fantastical ideas of the likes of Billy Carson. Wes has to set himself apart from the conspiracists Joe often has on. He is the outlier in this arena. Without this part, the 3rd hour wouldn’t be nearly as good. The 2nd hour is what makes the 3rd hour impactful for that audience. The third hour they get into why you can trust the gospels and how the New Testament was put together and the Constantine aspect and how you can tell which books belong in the Bible and which books are clear forgeries like Billy and other gnostics try to use as proof to say that Christianity and the Bible are wrong and why morality is not a legitimate way to view Jesus and how to understand sermon on the mount etc. (Oh my run on sentence 🥴😂🤷🏻♀️). The third hour is the meat, but the rest of it is what makes skeptics take what he is saying more seriously. Did Wes go super deep in evangelizing Rogan? Nope. He did exactly what he needed to do for that audience.
I hear this message every week by attending a God fearing, Bible believing church. It is my prayer that all people searching for the truth do the same.
And you attend a service whereby the unsaved are not in attendance. That is biblical. And Men are to be in the workforce being the provider and protector. Woman are to be keeper of the home. Children are to be educated in the home. Doubtful you are truly attending services that are of GOD.
@MonaWhitney-fv9ji oh, I'm sorry I didn't know I mistook my toilet for your bowl of Cheerios this morning, dear. You speak with a lot of confidence on what and of who you don't know and that's a real shame. Perhaps, you've mistaken my comment? It is asked "When's the last time you've heard..." And I answered. And will continue to answer and pray the very same things. 🤷🏼♀️
@@sarahstevenson1319 So you are saying that the instruction that GOD has left is worthy of a toilet because my comment relayed to you the word of GOD. There is quite the telling difference between your comment and mine. God does require that you yourself prove the scriptures. Rather your remark was made with confidence and I suggest your confident comment lacks the instruction provided in the word of God. Good day.
@@MonaWhitney-fv9ji no, dear. You came at me (and my fellow church members) with a LOT of assumptions. That was my point. My toilet remark is toward your attitude within the realm of your assumptions on many people you do not know. I know these people and my church and that they are God fearing, Bible believing. Perhaps, you are trying to hard to find something to criticize or argue with strangers over on the Internet? Have a blessed day 🙏🏼❤️
@sarahstevenson1319 Your words are false and I am not your dear. The topic of conversation is not about you nor I. The context is relevant to GOD and his word and his instruction. You did the attacking not I. I being a member of the body of Christ am required by GOD to give warning which is all that you can with validity testify. As the context was only relevant to GID and the church your comment was an attack on GOD referring to him and his instruction as a toilet bowl and Cheerios. Do you also condemn those whom GOD sent to and did give warning relevant to false prophets and the gathering of the church. Again I refer you to do as God has instructed and prove by scripture as to whether you are attending a service that is meet with the instruction of God. Woman are not pastors of GOD as he defines. Woman are pastors of Satans church.
This video blessed me so much. I also struggled with the doctrine of adoption. Because of the person I am. I still sin or fall into sin. But its not about me...its about Jesus and what He did for us
I saw the whole Rogan podcast with Wes Huff. How did he not present the gospel? He talked about Jesus being God. He stated he believes the resurrection. He stated that the law is a mirror that shows us we are dirty with sin, but Jesus is the Savior that we need. How's that not the gospel? Like you said yourself: You are nitpicking. Just because you would do it differently does not mean God did not speak. This video is so disappointing.
I used to respect Todd but he's honestly, and I'm being honest as possible in love, ACTING VERY FOOLISH ! I'm a CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY AND EVANGELIST and have preached to millions same things Wes Huff said to Joe Rogan! Wes said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG regarding the gospel. Todd is so calvinistic that he has lost the plot (and probably didn't even listen to the 3 hour podcast with Joe Rogan and Wes Huff). His legalism has made him so unrelatable and out of touch.
Todd is a total Calvinist nitpicking religious spirit person. Can't believe he even made this video about WES HUFF. Wes was the BEST thing that could ever happen to the gospel being preached.on the biggest platform in the world.
When you ask people what the gospel is, you get a presentation and not a definition. It’s not “love God, love others”. The gospel is the good news of what Christ has done for us. It’s not what we can do for him but what he has done for us
Thank you for this. I appreciate that you weren't trying to attack Wesley or Dallas, merely criticizing their presentation. This video truly did change my walk. I am someone who felt "God puts up with me, begrudgingly, because of how I fail to meet his standard." This video flipped my perception hugely. Thank you again, God bless, let's all keep talking about Jesus y'all!
Personally I found this really helpful . It is fundamentally important to be able to clearly define the Gospel and what it is and equally importantly, what it isn’t . I found the video skilfully lead up to the last chap clearly defining the desire of God the father to have a personal relationship with me after Jesus has justified me . I’ve been blessed incredibly by that today and hopefully my life will change because of this realisation . Thank you Jesus .. bless you Todd for this video . P.s. I’m just a bricklayer from England . Saved by grace
I always imagined being in heaven was like walking, surrounded with friends with beautiful surroundings in peace and joy, but no Jesus or God to be found. Why would they be interested in me? My concept of heaven is changing. Thank you, Todd,Lester
Wow, wow, wow. Been saved 4 years. Not heard this. Thank you and thank God! This video has been coming up in my feed for days and I wasn’t that keen to watch it but for some reason I just decided I might as well. And now I know I was meant to.
@josephkuhner8576 I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held . Revelation 6 9. Satan deceived the whole world , they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony . Revelation 12 9, 11 . I met God at the cross when Jesus saved me that's born again washed in the blood of the Lamb. How ? Father baptizes with the Holy Ghost thru the Son. John 10 30 Acts 11 16 Titus 3 6 . Any one say different is a reprobate. That's reality not religion
Always a great listen! Thanks Todd, Wretched, and Fortis. Such a breath of fresh air to be encouraged, convicted, and realistic towards everyday applications of God, His word and the Gospel!
I think Wesley did an excellent job in defending the historicity and authenticity of the gospels, which is the main argument used against Christianity by Muslims, Mormons, atheists and more. This is vital information that most apologists hardly ever present on public platforms as they focus more on the doctrinal aspect. So, even though Wes did only touch on the message of the gospel, limited by the time that he had with Rogan, he cleared up any, if not all lies and misinformation that most disbelievers have been fed regarding the authenticity of the Bible.
Todd I think so many who truly share the true Biblical gospel , which by the way, the laborers are still few; know and have the relationship you talked about but we are so worried about their souls that we focus so much on their souls with don’t focus so much on their relationship with God. I’m going to start focusing also on their relationship. It’s hard on the streets when evangelizing because of the time factor. But from behind the pulpit I will start taking the time to speak more abundantly about their relationship. Thanks so much brother for this reminder. 🙏❤️🙏
There are three guys I’m discipline to be Deacons. Tomorrow we are talking about Justification and Adoption. This was so good and helpful for me. We’re going to watch this as part of our time together. Thank you.
Bless you! Thank you for making this video. I needed to hear this message as a new born again Christian only four months old I needed this clarity to understand my new relationship and standing with God and to not let the enemy deceive me with guilt and shame!
Thanks, Todd Friel, for this message. I was challenged. I want to share the gospel more effectively and grow more and more in my reverence for Christ. 🙏🏽 7:34
i have never felt more overwhelmed by the GOODNESS of God than the moment i first believed. Reading the bible is exciting for me even after my labor in the hospital, i was reading my favourite book~ Isiah. When i hear this, its as if i know GOD so little giving me more hunger for HIS WORD!
R. C. Sproul once preached a message. “Saved From What?” I can’t find where Jesus ever said “Invite me into your heart.”. What He said was repent and believe. If I’m wrong, please correct me.
You are spot on!! nowhere in scripture does it say present the "four spiritual laws" or pray this prayer ha ha... I used to be a RC Sproul follower I was in my 20s and early 30s but the whole non-biblical five points of Calvinism thing I could not digest from a biblical understanding had to get rid of it
Jesus did speak of the Holy Spirit given to those who ask Him. Jesus lives in the hearts of people through the Holy Spirit. So yes you can ask Jesus to come into your heart through the Holy Spirit.
Oh man, I needed this message! Love Wes, followed him for years... knew there was no gospel presentation and agree that it was still an awesome conversation. But the second part about adoption.... ❤ having notngrown up in church and coming from a feelings-based, no doctrine, fallen into false teaching past, I tend to lean more on knowledge than heart and I know there can be an imbalance there. Love the mechanics of the gospel, but need to remember to be swept away into the reality of adoption for myself, as well as communicate it to others. I tend to stop at justification (which is powerfully emotional as well)... The feelings don't need to be feared!
@@jwillett7 Yup. The last thing this house needs is for me to listen to false teachers, especially the ones I use to illustrate the importance of discernment.
Amen brother! Thank you for the reminder of my adoption. It’s easy to forget when you’re battling sin every day. I’m tempted to fall into moralism to judge my growth of sanctification and then judge God’s favor of me based on my actions.
1 cor 15:3,4. The gospel. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding his blood, he was buried, and rose again the third day, according to the scriptures. God is holy, you're a sinner. Your sin separates you from a holy God. You need to be forgiven for your sin, and you need your sins taken away, and when you put your trust in Jesus Christ he takes your sin away and gives you his righteousness.. there's a transaction and God no longer sees you as a sinner but he sees the righteousness of his precious Son. That's right, the blood of Jesus Christ is enough to pay for your sin debt. So please guilty, acknowledge you are a hell deserving sinner and ask Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) to forgive you and save you. God in the form of Jesus Christ became sin.. so you could be made his righteousness. Without perfect righteousness you cannot get into heaven. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.
1 Cor. 15:3-4 is NOT the gospel. Read the passage very carefully. Paul said that he preached Jesus' death and resurrection _alongside_ the gospel. The gospel he preached was the Kingdom of God(Acts 28:23), and Jesus preached this same gospel(Mar. 1:14-15, Luk. 4:43). Any gospel that is about grace or even Jesus is a counterfeit message.
I’ve struggled to feel any near was to Jesus my entire saved life. I acknowledge and believe absolutely everything said in this video- yes and amen!- and I’m on the verge of ending my life because I am so miserable in my sin. I have begged and pleaded for God to save me from sin, I read His Word and barely understand the written words anymore, I am in an excellent and sound church, I serve regularly as an usher and sing occasionally when they request, I attend a wonderful Wednesday night Small Group, and I have regular counseling sessions with one of my pastors who graduated from The Master’s Theological Seminary. I am at my wits end. I’m terrified that I have an intellectual understanding of the Word and have only fooled myself into thinking truly believe any of it. And I don’t know to fix that if that’s true. Just please pray for me.
Todd, I fully understand why you made the comment saying if God didn't allow to make another video after this one that you'd be happy. This is a beautifully complete presentation of our relationship with our Holy God! Thank you. Why Jesus did what He did is sometimes minimized. Well done, and obviously inspired, sir.
What an amazing reminder of God's love and desire to be in relationship with his children! Thank you for your work in the ministry Mr. Friel. You have been a great blessing and encouragement in my life.
Thank you Mr. Friel! I said this in the comments of that podcast. You said it better, much better. But I did say it. It was a great conversation and Wes is amazing at what he does. But Joe asked point blank what Wes thinks and that would have been a great opportunity to tell him.
This was such a blessing! I have played this 10 times already and will listen to it every day until it is burned into my soul. I knew this in my heart but need this often to remind me. Thank you!!!!
I don't know if anybody else pointed this out but if you watch the full video of Joe Rogan and Wes Huff Joe Rogan did say the gospel himself so he knows the gospel Joe Rogan did talk about Jesus dying for our sins and him rising from the dead
Great point! We have missed the Gospel because we have made the “good news“ everything but the Gospel. We must repent! Thank you for reminding us of the basic truths that are so essential for our salvation!
Paul's gospel presentation: "I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ."
Joe Rogan knows the gospel message, he just does not want to submit to Christ as savior. Joe pretty much said that when Wesley asked him what he thought of Jesus.
Jesus is knocking at the door of Joe's heart. That's why he keeps sending people to teach Joe about about Jesus, about the gospel. One day, Joe will say come on in Jesus, let's talk. 😚👑
I love how God uses our weak and small efforts, even if it’s not the best, and can save souls despite us! We need to be prepared to share the gospel correctly, yes, but even if you aren’t a theologian, speak of Jesus! The Holy Spirit does the work of salvation and you are just a tool He uses. He will provide the increase. Adoption is SUCH a needful thing to know about! What a beautiful and astonishing truth it is. Thank you, Todd, ya wretch!
I’ve heard a lot of people say that God will never let them into heaven because of things they’ve done, but I’ve never heard anyone say God does not want a relationship with them because of things they did before they were saved…before? Before they were saved?? That makes no sense; when we’re saved we’re forgiven, so I don’t understand how someone can say “before” they were…SAVED. Now me personally I’ve done horrific things “after” I got saved and I scream out to God in terror because of these things I’ve done while being washed in the blood with the knowledge of the truth. The key word describing faithfulness to Christ is “strive”, for it reflects keeping with repentance: Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” And lastly none of this can come about unless you’re born again
Tod Friel is not “hyper critical” as some comments say. He tip-toes around issues and adds many disclaimers to avoid offending people with the truth. Just speak the truth.
Thanks Todd! Thank you for bringing this point to light. I’ve never really focused on that part of the gospel. Contrition hit me hard and the beautiful truth of how much God actually loves us that even while we were yet sinners, Christ died and took our punishment. How amazing is that? We should never get over that truth.
Excellent video Todd! I'm currently studying and praying my way through the book of Hebrews, I'm so in awe of the goodness of God! I was saved 4 years ago and am so grateful to feel closer to God every single day... sometimes i think, I'm a mature Christian now and then i wake up the next morning to find that He has ways of growing me even more. Very encouraging video, they you, sir!!
Wes really did well with Rogan. I loved it. Rogan has heard the gospel, and what I think he needs is apologetics. I was in the same boat about 20 years ago. Apologetics helps the mental hurdles for logically centered folks like me, and allows us to open our heart to the gospel.
Whew. Someone's cutting onions over here. I've been a follower of Jesus for a long time. Hearing that Pastor talk about Jesus leading us into the room with God and feeling that hesitation; man I felt that. Still processing that God would want an actual relationship with me. I don't understand why, at all, and I don't exactly know what that looks like but it sure sounds great and I'm onboard for it. I feel like the tax payer guy who just beats his chest and begs for mercy. I can't imagine God giving anything more than that but I'm so grateful.
Most people actually KNOW the Gospel but they don’t believe it because most don’t believe the Bible is reliable … that’s what Wes Huff was there to do…. Some hearts are so ready for Jesus that a single verse is enough for them to convert and don’t require an entire Course of Soteriology to repent and believe in Jesus
Every gospel presentation could begin, "God has a bone to pick with you." As for Jordan Peterson's error, no one said it better than C.S. Lewis: "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
@@geraldarcuri9307 Jordan Peterson just came OUT YESTERDAY and said with conviction that he believes Jesus Christ is GOD! He said it for the first time ever. I made a video short about it here on my channel. He said it on youtube podcast called 'Diary of a CEO". However, that doesn't mean Peterson is born again yet. His wife became catholic and Peterson went to Mass recently but he still holds on to Jungian demonic theology and hasn't made a confession of following Jesus yet. I'm praying for him. But it is amazing that he's finally saying Jesus is God.
You kind of missed something and the football player kind of said it without saying it exactly. That we must be born again. Yes, justification and having a relationship is good, but it's not central to the Gospel message. Which is dying to our old ways and thinking and having a new mind and heart. To many people today are accepting Jesus as payment, but their hearts is not changed and they keep on going on in their own ways. Just like Paul, there has to be a total transformation.
You are born again by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in Him alone to save you. Not in your filthy works righteousness, obedience, changed life, church attendance, or any amount of personal effort no matter how well intended. There's absolutely no other way to be saved. It's 100% believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is by grace apart from any WORKS that means ALL works period. To believe means to be firmly convinced that the payment Jesus made on the cross was all sufficient for whosover would simply believe in Him John 3:16. There is no longer a sin problem, sin was dealt with at the cross, it's now a belief problem. Those that believe not are condemned already and will drop straight into hell. Believe and be saved today, stop trusting in yourself and your works. There's only one way to be saved.
Finally. I’ve been praying to see and hear someone else understand these things. A relationship with God everyday has opened my eyes because with Him, I ask his guidance with the way, seek His truth within the gospel, and knock and it all becomes open. I’m constantly in tears. We are absolutely not worthy and I can only at this time die to myself and go and follow in hopes it glorifies our Lord as should have been since the beginning till the end of age.
Great video Todd!...i now learnt the difference between doing apologetics(defending the faith based on evidence) and evangelizing(presenting the gospel in its entirety) - not only presenting doctrinal aspect of the gospel but also aspect of having an intimate relationship with God through Jesus. Thank you for sharing❤!
I am so thankful for this video. It really encouraged me to understand the importance of the results and purpose of our justification. God really used it to talk to my heart, praised be Jesus that brings us to the close relationship with the Father.
the real thing they miss from their gospel presentations is the critical answer to the question "What must I do to be saved?" Wesley could have just quoted John 3:16 on Rogan.
Romans 10:9 would have been better: that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
Wes certainly wouldn't say he presented the Gospel, but I was proud of Wes & happy that Jesus was introduced on a large platform. Thank you because I felt like that man, he has forgiven me for so much that I already feel unworthy & I feel ok talking to the Lord all day, but not so much the Father, thank you.
I kind of disagree with the whole idea that the post moderns don't teach adoption. I posit that they want the adoption without the repentance and the justification. "Just pray the magic mantra and now you are part of the family of God."
Thank-you thank-you for this video!! 4 years that I’ve been saved and hasn’t thought about my salvation in my adoption more then justification. This makes sooo much sense. Thank you 🙏
I was talking with a friend earlier tonight about passing by trees you recognize... (In Context: We learn lessons but forget them at times.) Yeah, my relationship has felt distant for a while now. I can totally place the cause at the feet of believing that I need to uphold a morality by my power. It's a crushing weight. I've spent the past few years learning reformed theology. One of the most difficult things has been Adoption. It requires me to reject the perfection I attempt to create. Moreover, it requires me acknowledge that I am not simply accepted by the Father, but that I am favored/blessed by the Father on account of Jesus.
GREAT COMMENT. I know what you are talking about and have dealt with the same.. God loves us! We are already His children and haven't contributed any works to become His children. His love for us wasn't based on our performance then so why would it be so now? I've had such great realizations of assurance not when I'm looking at my self and think I'm living up to it, but when I recognize I haven't lived up to it, see my need and solely trust Jesus Christ. Then comes the love and joy and peace and out of that I'm more Christ like than when I try to do it myself. I've come to think walking by faith, in The Spirit and in obedience is all synonymous. That if you aren't walking by faith it's hard to do the latter. Faith isn't something you muster up either but a reliance even when we know we don't seem to have much faith bc our faith is in Jesus and not in our faith itself. But yeah we are accepted in the beloved and the just shall live by faith. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Having begun by The Spirit are you now being perfected by the flesh? (Galatians 3:3) and Galatians 5:13 you were called to freedom. The work Jesus did is enough! God bought you with that precious blood already. you won't find refuge, comfort or assurance in your performance but in Christ. Children of promise!
Nailed it.... I often start conversations on the topic of salvation with this; do you love Him? So so many people understand that they are sinners and the justification they have received through Christ. They know so little about a loving relationship with Him... We love Him because He first loved us ... How might we know that we love Him? We keep His commandments (1 John 5:?) might I add, what you and I have is so much more than Adam had in the beginning... IF he kept a rule he remained close to God. Because of Christ, when we fall short, He is with us... Dare I say, in us... His justification is complete! Therefore we keep His commandments from a joyous relationship and not to achieve one or retain one! Dear Christian, when you understand this you will never stop crying tears of joy... Furthermore, you will not see the fruit of the Spirit as a something you do, but something that flows through you like living water... Like I said in the beginning, Nailed it!
I’ve created for myself a presentation that I consider to be a short, concise and contains all of the “components” of the gospel. Here it is … Acronym for easy memorization. P C S R R P P = Problem is sin C = Consequence is death S = Solution is Jesus R = Response confess, believe R = Result is justification P = Promise is eternity w God Now add (and memorize) the scriptures for each component. Hint: all are in the book of Romans.
Praise God! I was raised in the same toxic movement, but by God's grace he led me out 20 years ago. THIS is the gospel...rejoice in it!
Congratulations for you, and praise to God that He has revealed the falsehoods of the NAR and brought you out of this different gospel.
All praise to our Lord and King
Same here. Thank you Todd
I agree
What a joy! May the Lord richly bless you. Been listening to Aaron Keyes "Not Guilty Anymore" on repeat.
But then again so are atleast half of what people subscribe to as "preachers" these days
While all true but You’re still a sinner .
@Shakycrafter8406 Thank God for His patience, mercy, and faithfulness to us ❤️
I am drenched with tears; I’ve realised I’ve been timid before God, too much so; justified by faith brought into relationship by Jesus and not of any of my doing
Right there with you.
I actually started crying. This video hits me. I now realize i never came past the conviction part of it all. I just had to share this.
Praise Jesus!
Praise God❤️
Agreed. Extremely important information presented to enable us in knowing the difference between the two.
I thought Todd was extremely clear about that point myself.
You know people are gonna hate no matter what
This ☝🏼💯
Great comment, James. I don't think Wes would have had it otherwise 🙏
But as far as what Todd said, he was absolutely correct.
Re: Wes and Rogan …
For the Rogan platform, I think the format was amazing.
But its not about me...its about Jesus and what He did for us
Great job, Tod. Disambiguating between what Wes Huff could do and the misrepresentation of the same was brave, and we need it. LORD bless you.
I agree. This video was underwhelming
You are nit picking.
Todd is a total Calvinist nitpicking religious spirit person. Can't believe he even made this video about WES HUFF. Wes was the BEST thing that could ever happen to the gospel being preached.on the biggest platform in the world.
To be fair Jesus Himself did not clearly preach the gospel to each and every one He interacted with.
I really really really needed to hear this. Thank you!!
18:09 JI Packer absolutely hit the nail on the head. Ephesians 1 and 2 is a great outline of what Our Heavenly Father thinks of us.
One of your best messages Todd.

"For I determined to know nothing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."

I always imagined being in heaven was like walking, surrounded with friends with beautiful surroundings in peace and joy, but no Jesus or God to be found. Why would they be interested in me? My concept of heaven is changing. Thank you, Todd,Lester
Just finished Knowing God for the first time, and saw the adoption coming in this video. What a blessing to hear it put so clearly.
Well said. So many are not listening to your points. God Bless❤
Wow, wow, wow. Been saved 4 years. Not heard this. Thank you and thank God! This video has been coming up in my feed for days and I wasn’t that keen to watch it but for some reason I just decided I might as well. And now I know I was meant to.

Yes, exactly. Thank you for that.
Yes. Huff planted many good seeds. 😊
Few can be or want to be clear to all about the gospel. We are to be known for the gospel.
This has/is your best. Clear and concise. Needed to be heard by more.
There are three guys I’m discipline to be Deacons. Tomorrow we are talking about Justification and Adoption. This was so good and helpful for me. We’re going to watch this as part of our time together. Thank you.
Amen! How beautiful is the Word of God! Thank you Jesus!
Youre not wrong.
You are spot on!! nowhere in scripture does it say present the "four spiritual laws" or pray this prayer ha ha... I used to be a RC Sproul follower I was in my 20s and early 30s but the whole non-biblical five points of Calvinism thing I could not digest from a biblical understanding had to get rid of it
Nope. True
Jesus did speak of the Holy Spirit given to those who ask Him. Jesus lives in the hearts of people through the Holy Spirit. So yes you can ask Jesus to come into your heart through the Holy Spirit.
I am sorry, to those who ask the Father.

Joel Osteen makes me cringe with his fake manipulative shtick he does.

Thank you for sharing this! I need to be reminded of this every day! ❤
Thanks for reminding me with this profound, useful, and rich points of a journey with God through JC.
Wes sucks he isn't Christian

I don't know if anybody else pointed this out but if you watch the full video of Joe Rogan and Wes Huff Joe Rogan did say the gospel himself so he knows the gospel Joe Rogan did talk about Jesus dying for our sins and him rising from the dead
Great video!!
Great point! We have missed the Gospel because we have made the “good news“ everything but the Gospel. We must repent! Thank you for reminding us of the basic truths that are so essential for our salvation!
Outstanding presentation and explanation, brother!!
Paul's gospel presentation: "I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ."
So good!!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 be looking for clips out here! Too good not to share.
Joe Rogan knows the gospel message, he just does not want to submit to Christ as savior. Joe pretty much said that when Wesley asked him what he thought of Jesus.
Amen and Amen.
Jesus is knocking at the door of Joe's heart. That's why he keeps sending people to teach Joe about about Jesus, about the gospel. One day, Joe will say come on in Jesus, let's talk. 😚👑
Agreed. Watched the entire podcast and had the same impression.
At least a seed is planted.
The key word describing faithfulness to Christ is “strive”, for it reflects keeping with repentance:
Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
And lastly none of this can come about unless you’re born again
No one wants to be saved. Prove me wrong.
OK you wretched guy, you got me. Best video you've ever made. Thanks and aaamen. (also Wes Huff, thanks, you did your bit faithfully.)
Tod Friel is not “hyper critical” as some comments say. He tip-toes around issues and adds many disclaimers to avoid offending people with the truth. Just speak the truth.
Too many excellent points made in this video to name. Thank you for reminding me who my father is.
I have seen the sermon that Todd presents many many times, and each time, I am blessed more. How gloriously wonderful!
Thank you Todd! One of the best presentations I have seen!
Thank you so much for the clarity of justification and adoption. I feel loved....finally. Welcomed and a part of the family.
@@geraldarcuri9307 I am not a fan of C.S. Lewis, but occasionally he said true things. This is one of them.
Yes and Amen. God Bless you Todd and this wonderful Gospel presentation.
That was heavy. Definitely gave me something to truly think about. Thank you.
Is there a full video of the sermon clip at the end? This has truly blessed me
Thank you. Just what a stodgy hellfire and brimstone Arminian preacher needed to hear.
I like the Beard he wears a lot. It fits him a lot
Discussing the gospel isn't the same as declaring the gospel. Very good video, thank you.
I do appreciate your evenhandedness when it comes to the brethren.
@@melaniexoxo why? confession is not required unless you think Jesus left something out. He just said believe on him and you have eternal life
Wes certainly wouldn't say he presented the Gospel, but I was proud of Wes & happy that Jesus was introduced on a large platform.
Ergo, no adoption
Wow this is fantastic. Super helpful. Thanks SO much for this.
I really needed this message! Mr. Vincent's explanation was just wonderful.....
Thank-you thank-you for this video!! 4 years that I’ve been saved and hasn’t thought about my salvation in my adoption more then justification. This makes sooo much sense. Thank you 🙏
Man, whenever Joel Osteen is on screen I have to fast forward. It's like trying to watch Kamala Harris. Like nails on a chalkboard !
LEGIT TEACHING BRO. YOU ARE AN AWESOME TEACHER.
Here it is …
Acronym for easy memorization.
P C S R R P
P = Problem is sin
C = Consequence is death
S = Solution is Jesus
R = Response confess,believe
R = Result is justification
P = Promise is eternity w God
Now add (and memorize) the scriptures for each component. Hint: all are in the book of Romans.
book of Romans... The video creator puts repentance where you put believe. -- If I was listening properly that is. Any thoughts on such thoughts?
