Nice disassembly. Thanks. My Shuffle II is not flickable at all. If I loosen it too much, blade is severely disaligned when closed. I think I'll do a full disassembly myself, and get some oil on those pivot washers.

Did it now. Disassembled, cleaned (it wasn't particularly dirty, as it is still quite new), oil om pivot, put together again. But the knife is still the same regarding flickability: As long as the blade is remotely centered, it just takes too much force to open. I guess tolerances and sample deviations aren't at premium level in such a budget friendly knife.
That is the only issue I have with it, though. I like the form factor, and like everyone else says, it is a very nice, little EDC.

I’ve thought a few times about how it would perform with some bronze washers to replace the nylon ones but I’ve not had an opportunity to try it, I’d imagine it would improve the action pretty noticeably though

Can the thumb studs be removed or are they molded onto the tanto blade? Was curious as have ordered 2. Great little edc knife. Great vid👍

@@wolfmanwalsh aw, thank you so much for checking that out buddy. Its strange, I ordered 2 and one was a copy & one is an authentic shuffle 2. Slight little differences and not just the logo. And I'm sure they came from the same place. It looks like the studs ,they are part of the blade noe I have had a chance to inspect it. but I may be wrong. Thank you 👍 so glad I watched this vid or I wouldn't have them. Such a versatile little edc. Have a great night 😁

I like the original shuffle. Lighter, more compact, deeper carry clip, a better slicer, and easier to sharpen.

Came for disassembly. Mine came very tight and not easy to open. Torx screws are so tight I've stripped my tools.

Jeez that’s a pisser, yeah I had that issue on my PM2 but not yet on a Kershaw, but you’re the second person now to tell me you’re having that problem so I’m wondering if they moved to red loctite. You can usually break the seal on loctite by heating the screws up with a soldering iron or a heat gun, but I actually use my wife’s hair straightener just because it works great. I heat it up to 450 and hold it on the screw for a full minute and it hasn’t failed me yet

Good job guys. I believe this knife to be the perfect first knife to.give a young person with a Spiderco knife sharpening set and teach them how to use it/Good luck

Thanks for watching, yeah that’s a great way to teach sharpening, especially how to deal with a tanto edge

Using the bottle opener with the knife blade open doesn’t strike me as the safest behavior. Maybe you’d had a beer or two before that? 😄

Nice video. Same issue I have with my Shuffle 2. It's sometimes hard to flick. Do you know what size of bronze washer I have to buy to replace the stock washer? I would really appreciate your response

After 3 years of use, washer swaps, and mineral oil use, I can honestly say that this knife was not meant to be flicked. Just a thumb-stub roll. I can flick it with enough force but with how small and light the knife is, the force is unnecessary. Still love this little knife but a daily spidey-flicker it is not.

It's a function of the detent design. Just not a flicker.

I'm not sure how to answer that. I bought it from Kershaw Online, so yes? Unless there's something I'm not aware of. I'm genuinely curious now.

Mate can you share what brand of those torx equipments you used to open your mates knife? My stuff always stripped, I mean always.
Can’t find quality stuff in my place.

Sure thing, currently I'm using an Ifixit Mako driver kit. It's about $40 and comes with several bits, really it's all that you would need for disassembling a knife in one kit. The bits are magnetized and well made too

What was that grease or oil that you put on?

    • @knoxknifemods
      @knoxknifemods  3 роки тому +1

Just regular old mineral oil that you can get at Walgreens or Kroger. It is good for the action but not as good as something like Nano Oil but I like it more because it’s food safe
