- In this game of Civ 6, we’ll be playing as Sumeria in our latest Civilization VI A to Z challenge. This time, we’ll be playing a game of Civ 6 using Sukritact’s Modded Sumeria, on Deity ++, a mode 2 levels harder than regular Deity, and we’ll be playing with an interesting version of the game.
This time, EVERY civ playing in the game will spawn in as the empire existed in real life. Some civs will be present from the start of the game, others will spawn in much, much later. The world will be a fast evolving sphere of chaos and we will have to attempt to navigate it from the very start.
Welcome to Ursa Ryan’s Civ 6 A to Z challenge, where we take on EVERY civilization in Civ 6 in alphabetical order! My channel supporters have been hard at work creating a fun set of maps, games and challenges for me to play, so buckle up and welcome to the ride!
All maps, mods and tech support on getting these games to work are available on my discord, so swing by! If you want to help plan this series, consider becoming a channel supporter using the links below.

Egypt spawning with 10000+ gold seems pretty insane. You can see just how many settlers they're buying with that. This game could get out of control very, very quickly.
Ursa needs more of a challenge! lol
They still have to wait for population in the cities. Also what's the food bonus for deity ++?
Food bonus is well over 100%
Egypt starting with more than 8000 gold on just turn 25(or earlier) makes me think the modded start bonuses are getting multiplied by the Deity++ bonuses. if you get civs spawning in the industrial era it's conceivable they'll have functionally infinite gold lol
I dread to think what we'll be finding soon
Ah this is basically the ryse and fall mod from CIV 4
good times
I was going to say this too. That mod was more fun then the actual game in some ways.
That was the best
Ursa: "This city has two sources of horses. Tasty."
Me: "Ahhh. Someone's a fan of Tesco Lasagna."
Good time to be alive when we all found out about that!
27:40 It's called hiring Babylon as a mercenary for your proxy war
"It's not awful. It's diplomacy!" Get this man a job at the UN asap.
The fertile crescent was the birthing place of civilization, just like Columbus discovered America
I do love how all the civs have been put together on the map to represent it, it's amazing!
The mod I'd most fear meeting Babylon with is historic speed, the one that gives normal production toward units and districts while slowing down tech and civic research. The extent to which Babylon could eureka their way to an enoumous science lead is truly terrifying.
I have tanks. You have iron for the next... 500 turns
Urly bears arise
Moment of silence for the realization that Gilgabro won't be your friend this game. 😔
I can be friends with myself, right??
@@UrsaRyan It is healthy to not hate your Gilgabro self
Before watching. Will we now get a chance for feed the world? Let's see.
ofc we get it
Gilgamesh gigachad
I would love to see this on a tsl earth map
I am SOOO tempted
@@UrsaRyan plz do it
Something cool to watch tonight! Always wanted to see this concept in Civ VI
The CARD that gives Builders when you put settlers down?!?
This spawn mod would be so cool on TSL seeing how the European nations spawn later than the Fertile Crescent ones fighting for supremacy
Looking forward to seeing how it shapes out!
Oh my, the premise by the title alone sounds amazing!
Ye ye here come the heavy CHAVELRY all up in they adidas trackies innit?
i played with this mod.
it was. interesting.
Should be done on TSL Maps.
I love your content always something refreshing.
But I don't know if I'm the only one but I rather see you play in regular deiti than deiti++
I like to spice it up and play different stuff!
He’s got more save files than I have brain cells
That join ongoing war and peace out was a masterstroke-can swoop in and settle their borders while they’re wasting all of their gold on each other. Nicely done, I’m excited for this one!
Thank you! The world can't fight me if it's fighting itself!
This is a really cool mod but it would be more interesting if civs would be inherited whenever a new ruler comes to power (Eleanor of Aquataine spawns, British Empire is then transferred to Elizabeth, and then later to Victoria, so you have several personalities for one civ that change throughout the game. Would be interesting to see
This is a really good start, can't wait to see you expand like crazy (and then have america spawn in and take half your cities?!)
Don't tempt the game it will do it!
Ursa, I love your content. You are amazing. Never stop what you do!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it = )
Finally! My man Gilgabro back to rip some arms off with his bare hands!
This is pretty cool. I might have to try this one out
Do, it's a good one!
This do be an “Iltam sumrashupti elatim” moment.
*great mod! looking forward to see how this plans out!* 👍💪
ditto!
Hope you play a vanilla Sweden, it may be that is my home country. . But mods is also fun sometimes but this the second civ you have tweaked. But I'm going to watch even if its moded.
I don't play civ but love to watch.. Its so relaxing to see a playthrough of civ 6 and you have quickly became my favorite civ 6 player cause you do a full series, not one offs or tutorial which I'm not interested in just because i don't play the game
My A to Z games are very much dictated by my lovely channel supporters - but never say never, I like to change it up from series to series! Thanks for watching though, lovely to have you around = )
@Ursa Ryan I understand that. And I also understand that most people that watches us players them self and love to see a new take on a civ but maybe moded but not a mod that tweaks the civs ability is a possibility..
But you do your thing, that's why I'm subscribed!
This resembles a scenario built-in in civ 4.
Ryan! Have you seen civ 4?
Never played it alas!
@@UrsaRyan you should!
How about a 1 time civ 4?
Just started the video and I know this game is going to be crazy!
Fingers crossed!! XD
love you show those great mods!
Had a lot of fun playing it = )
Absolutely wonderful
Huzzah!!!
Early bears unite!
Huzzah!!!
Civ 4 vibes. This is going to be a tough run!
The rise of the new gilgabro
this is a really cool mod for sure
Absolutely love the Temple of Artemis + Goddess of the Hunt stack
Always a fun play for a big capital!
Goddess of the hunt, more like goddess of the [removed], am i right?
Fun game concept. Huzzah
Huzzah!
To be fair, I too have some heavy javelry. My wife doesn't like to mention it in front of others though.
Hahaha
So glad you finally got to playing this mod! I absolutely love it! Can you stand the test of time?
We shall see!
Hi I checked the discord but couldn’t figure out the mod that makes forests look “bushier”. What’s the name of the mod?
Vegetation Variety (Standalone) I believe = )
Badass game idea
Why thank you!
when searching for city states early, what i often do (might be called an exploit) is use the settler lense to see beyond my view range - if i cant settle i know theres a city within 3 tiles, super handy
Handy tool, I do this a lot myself as well! Also the appeal lense can help with natural wonder spotting = )
Sukritact's Sumer rework is one of his very best mods! I once played a complete Sumer game with this and it was some of the most fun I had playing Civ! Hope you enjoy it just as much!
Loved it, start to finish - great mod!
Hey Ursa, when you hover over your (science, culture, faith etc) in the top ribbion it shows a detailed breakdown of where it's coming from. Whenever I do it just says the cities that are supplying the resource... nothing about policy cards, city states, etc. If that's a mod what's it's name? It would be helpful to know!
Don't remember which one from the top of my head - maybe ask in discord? People there will know!
This is a really cool mod, I think there was something similar for Civ 4. Would be interesting to see Australia or some other very new Civ with the mod.
Yeah I really want to come back to this mod as someone late game, see if it's still going at that point!
@@UrsaRyan imagine you boot up and Pericles won a culture victory 80 turns ago
I have wanted to do this for so long, hopefully the new game gives us the ability to play with the timing of the eras, the jump from swordsman to musketman being the basic unit goes by too quick!
Algorithm 174
Hey Ursa, correct me if I'm wrong but Temple of Artemis bonus amenity only stacks with tiles that are owned by the city where the wonder is located, right? New subscriber here and I am loving your stuff :) Keep it up!
It's VERY fiddly and doesn't read as it works, in your defence!
All improvements within 4 tiles of the wonder get an amenity, regardless of which city they are in. The amenity goes to the city that owns the improvement. So you can have multiple cities benefit from the temple, if that makes sense??
@@UrsaRyan Thanks for giving your take on it! I'll need to investigate further in my own games. Hope I remember to report back what i find haha
I wish I wasn't a console pleb, this looks really fun
For Ursa bear!
Huzzah!
🖖
FIRST
**talks about not choosing reliquaries and how it might actually have been worth choosing**
**two turns later yerevan spawns in**
you can't write this!!!
IKR what can an Ursa do!
Do this on a extra large map of the earth with true start locations please
Hold that thought
No one starts with that much money and if tech was something so linear and controlled in the real world as it is in CIV we would never see countries like U.S. and Russia as superpowers in the XX century.
Honestly this should be a normal game mode in civ. Maybe cut back a bit on the gold but give the AI tech/civic bonuses depending on the age/era they spawn in and a certain number of bonus settlers.
Please conquer Borsippa and turn it into the perfect Petra Rhur city
How did you make historical spawns?
Does this mean we could see a good Rhyse and Fall mod for civ 6?
£363 - Sumer, sometimes known as Sumeria, is the earliest known civilization in the historical region of southern Mesopotamia (south-central Iraq), emerging during the Chalcolithic and early Bronze Ages between the sixth and fifth millennium BC. It is one of the cradles of civilization in the world, along with ancient Egypt, Elam, the Caral-Supe civilization, Mesoamerica, the University of Sankore, the Indus Valley civilisation, and ancient China.
The University of Sankore civilization has been rumored to be the origin of myths surrounding blood-sucking supernatural beings. 😅
What a cool mod! Shame I made the worst mistake of my entire life and got it on Switch and I doubt my poor, little laptop could run Civ. Now I can't play with sweet mods. Can I please get an F in the chat?
No. Giving you an “F” would be mean, unless F = fun, fabulous, or fantastic.
@@isaachilburn5515 Nooo, it's fine. I deserve the mean, it's my own fault for researching the game properly before buying so I'm stuck with 5 minute CPU turns
Wonder if it would work on tsl all civs
You bet it does!
Daily comment.
Wait. Subs make Ursa stick to Oxford? Gonna unsub then LOL
Hey Mr. Ryan, I'm not sure if your other viewers share this opinion, but I really dislike when you use modded civs for your videos. You've even mentioned it before that you use like 40 mods, but that kind of alienates me as a viewer. With 40 mods and modified civs/leaders, I cannot relate to what you are doing anymore.
Does that make sense? You've changed the game so much its pointless to play it. Kind of like the diplo favor/strategic resource trading exploit. What fun is there to the game if you can just print gold? You've simultaneously taken the fun out of the game and broken it at the same time (8000 gold egypt start???)
In general I like your content, but you don't actually play civ 6. You play civ 6: ursa edition, and that isn't as fun to watch.
To clarify, when I say 40 mods, I mean mostly UI mods that specifically are coded to not change the game at all. They often just speed up elements of user interface or (more importantly) provide more information on screen so that UA-cam audiences at home can see more information easily when I play. Base game Civ 6 does not show well on UA-cam, alas. This game for instance only has 2 gameplay mods - Sumeria itself and the Historic Spawn mod, both of which I have never used before - and looking through my content like half of the last few series are using the raw game rules unmodded.
Alas, you can't make everyone happy, but I feel I cycle though many game types to keep everyone happy at least some of the time. I'd point you towards the "first video of every civ 6 series" playlist on the channel, there will be many unmodded games there for you to watch if this one isn't to your fancy
I came on a bit strong; I apologize for that. I've watched probably 40 of your videos since finding you on UA-cam, so I'm a fan!
What I really meant to say was "I want to watch more of your content, but not whatever this is". And there's no way for me to tell from the title of the video if you're going to play civ6 or if you're playing ursa6.
I'm not sure if my logic is flawed, but when you change the civ's abilities to suit some theme, it's a huge turn off. Kills my interest as fast as Boesthius does when he exploits the trade AI for gold. It's like you're cheating xD, which doesn't preclude it from being entertaining, but it isn't what Im looking to watch. I want to watch civ6...
