Lack of violence does not necessarily indicate a mature democracy , although it is required for a democracy to be mature , an absence of violence can also indicate a reluctant resignation on the behalf of the electorate that the democratic process is no longer working.
If countries are going to trade with their own currency it is going to grow the African currency and will speed up the process to dedollarise the United States dollar. That was apartheid reciprocally. How come you trade with other African country and pay with US dollars. We are sick and tired of this hegemony
All advancement depend on each country objectives and urgency. How hard will your citizens help the government to achieve. There is an understanding of non politics among all the nations joining Brics. and members country should not use politics in economy cooperation or impose their politic to other member country. Global South needs to catch up from the rest of the world. They need to work much harder and cut off corruption from the roots if they want to succeed. they must have a law on corruption to cut the corruption in all level of society. No interference , only trade agreement and fulfillment of contracts signed. There is no time for politic, just like religions, you practice them at home not in the public.
While this could be a great opportunity for Black South Africans, we must understand that this process will take at least a decade to synchronize the BRICS plus as an alternative to the dollar/pound/Euro. It took a decade to implement the Euro. In addition, I thought our primary objective was to get the monetary system for the continental Africa Free Trade Agreement. I do think we can do two things spontaneously but we should not put Africa Free Trade on the back burner. Currently "The West" economies combined are ten times the BRICS plus. Time will tell.
I wonder how many million-dollar watches were given to the minister for his collection.... and how many USD100 bills for the stuffing of the couches at Phala Phala....
Look up The Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School in Tanzania. It is Beijing's counter to efforts by the U.S. and other Western countries to shape African politics in a fight for influence on a continent rich in raw materials and energy.
Fossil fuel is very far from being a dying commodity. The Sunday Times commentator should study how electricity is generated worldwide, not listen to Greta Thunberg and the like.

Ramagopa must think that we are stupid.... Nothing in life is free! There is always a catch.
lol... people think China just "loves and cares" for us. Freeing us from the West so we can compete and not to exploit us further
