Fabulous cover my friend, what a great choice, I purchased the remastered edition of the first Blue Murder CD, sounds incredible now, I wish John Sykes would release more stuff, even new play through UA-cam videos from him would satisfy his fans, excellent rendition mate, great to see all the guitar parts in this track being played so well, congratulations brother your videos are stellar. Cheers
Monstrous!!! Sykes kills and so do you Brother! I got this album as a promo from the record store my soon to be wife worked at back in 89 ( ahhh, young love). Sykes is right up there with VH, Vai, Yngwie, Friedman, Becker any any and all of them back then. A true original voice.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight if I wasn’t so embarrassed and intimidated I’d do it brother. I thought I was good. Then I saw your videos and realized my limitations immediately. This channel is amazing.
joder como tocas tronko!! la ostia.. solo me falla la guitarra que no es una les paul.. pero vamos alucinante.. John Sykes el guitarrrista mas infravalorado de la historia y es todo un dios
Brilliant. I always heard the double stops at the end of the main riff as a fast double slide up rather than the hammer-on pull-off as you do. You are surely correct and I need to go off and listen more closely.
Thanks. I dont remember now, but its possible that I used those hammers (no pull offs) to get a more solid feel in the riff. Because Sykes did love those double slides. They're all over that album.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight would love to hear you play: ”Still of the night”! Then you’ll need a Les Paul. 😉 Anyway, which DiMarzios? Do you use a Soldano SLO-100? Best Regards, Daniel Forsberg
@@danielforsberg4018 The gear list is in the video. I've had many requests for the '87 album. Would be fun to do a whole album medley. My left hand can't handle fat LP necks any more, so I'll use the strat for sure.
Riot is my second favorite song on Blue Murder's debut album. John's guitar playing is incredible throughout the album, but it's especially good on that song. Great job!! :)
I din' t know this song but the rythm guitar and the solos are amazing... over all the last one. It's fantastic see you playing these licks so clearly. I see John Sykes as an strage mixture of technical exhibcionism and amazing musicality. As ever, very well chosen song to learn very cool and usefull figures. Great work, you are an inspiration, bravo maestro!!!
it's criminal you don't have more subscribers man. would love to see you do some Cacophony - Concerto for example - but i imagine it's a lot of effort as you'd probably do both guitar parts!
Great performance....one of the greatest guitarist in rock history.....also congratulation on the sound.....did you struggle to get that sound with plugins ???
Thank you. Sykes is one of my favorite players and big influence. For me personally, the latest generation of ampsim plugins is so good that I usually never struggle, no. And the automation control you have when mixing is incredible.
What a coincidence... Yesterday I listened to 2 other Sykes songs, Cautionary Warning and We All Fall Down and started to try and figure out some stuff from there. Can you do one of those next? Would be awesome! Especially Cautionary Warning has a nice drive to it...
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Ok, but check them out. They have this driving rhythm that's really cool. Great songs! In We all fall down I can really imagine Lynotts voice...

Thank you. It is indeed a great album.
Wow ! Exceptional cover
JOHN SYKES THIS IS ANIMAL !
Perfect cover.Great pick harmonics, accuracy, definition, sense of rhythm and brilliant final solo.Your technique is absolutely incredible.
Many thanks.
Sykes was the real deal. Can't imagine paying that AND singing... wow. Wish the dude would resurface and give us some more music
Sykes was extraordinary! Incredible musician.
Best version I've seen yet. Great job man! You nailed Sykes' delivery, attack and feel exact! Perfect execution. Bravo! 👏🏽🤘🏼
Glad to hear that. Thank you
The fast bendy stuff in the outro solo, absolutely nasty
:-)
Holy hell, man! You absolutely nailed it! So happy to see genuine Sykes fans out there!
Thank you sir
Great job! Thank You! Maybe (someday, why not) something of "1987"? 👍🤘✌👏👏👏
There is one 87 song I will to do. As soon as I get the time!

ソロのところでペダル踏む演出めちゃくちゃ痺れます❤
Big applause from Japan👏
The one and only album John recorded in Japan was Nuclear Cowboy❤Enjoy
Amazing playing! Can’t believe you’re getting that tone out of a single coil! Love this!! Liked and subd
Thank you. Yes, the neck is a true single. I really like them.
I think he meant the bridge pickup, which looks to me like a Hotrails ?
@@PeteShredz it's a Dimarzio Pro track

Appreciate the kind words. Yes, Sykes rhythm parts are great. Lots of heavy muting.
Dude, that is FUCKING AWESOME !!! Congrats !!!!
Thank you very much, Bob.
No words, just claps! What guitar pick do you using?
Fender extra heavy
Just cannot get over your tone its equally as huge as any Superstrat or Gibson. What amp and distortion pedals do you use?

Okay you’re killer. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great work!!!
Holy. Shit.

Funny you should say that. I did do a cover of Concerto, in the early nineties I think. Maybe I should dig up that dusty old tape ...

Smokin great job.....where can I get this tab?
A few of those licks sound like Petrucci might have been inspired by them.
Indeed. I hear a bit of Sykes in Zakk too.
Maybe do a few alter bridge covers. I know they dont fit the bill and purpose of your channel. But
incendiary cover though.
Any chance for the tabs? Much appreciated!
You could play "The Sails of Charon" by Scorpions
A lot of people have asked for that one. It's on my shortlist.
Sykes influenced by Gary Moore and made it his own.
You fricken Ripped that song!
