THAT EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME ONCE!! Then one day I was playing the normal multiplayer mode, and I randomly got a bunch of items and my mann up ticket was missing!

I hate it when you join a server, they are glad to have a 6th person, you become a class they don't have and might need, buy a few upgrades, but then they kick you because you didn't buy this one upgrade... Or didn't have this one weapon that they definitely needed to win....

i hope they add more difficulty to the mvm tours... like a moonbase map or giant mecha-engineer sentrys, or even tanks with miniguns, fuck me. The update seemed pretty deadly and hard, but everyone's got the handle of it :/ i want MORE difficulty, and yes i've played lots of custom maps but i want it to be from official valve servers...

it also depends on your team, you can't do all of it alone i agree but at least a tank with guns would be so cool *-* or a snow map for eotl... idk possibilities are endless
What I'd love is a randomly generated mode. Two Cities was really hard when it came out, but now everybody knows how to beat it. I'd like a mode where you don't know what's going to come, whether its giant scouts, major crits, or 150 spies rushing you at once
or even worse, giant bonk scouts... those things are unstoppable

Try the Coaltown mission. It took us 2 and a half hours to beat it.
Also about the Soldier, Valve made it where that ready up quotes are always said through you, possibly so that you can actually hear the ready up.
I'm pretty sure that they STILL haven't fixed the bug at the end where your mouth moves when your teammates speak in mvm.

of course, with three sentries, three disposable sentries, a heavy spewing bullets, and a soldier spamming rockets, it's actually a pretty good team

Some advice for the final round.
First, have a demoman to take out the initial uber medics. It's not absolutely necessary, but it really helps.
Second, DAMAGE is the king on this round. Two heavies and an engineer is necessary to break the large robots. A scout with the kritz fan helps, but can be replaced by other classes.
Three, if you don't have "shoot down projectiles," you're an idiot and you're going to lose.
Four, if you kill the first two tanks, you're probably going to win.

You should have a look at what types of waves and enemies you'll encounter during the mission and adapt whatever class you've chosen, aswell as your purchases to it.
Preferably you may want have only one of each class, taking into account that a few missions favour certain classes a bit more then others do.
Also, it would help a lot, if you communicate with your team.
Players that know what they have to do is absolutely necessary in order to actually succed on these missions.

I agree with how cool the wrench is, but idk I think the minigun looks pretty beast with a head chained to it. It starts getting a bit crazy when you have one chained to the scattergun though.
Took me 2 hours to beat my first Expert Mission and I never felt so happy to beat an MvM game like that before.

pm me, i regularly play mvm, usually not mann up, i find it a waste to spend 9 ref to try and get a gold weapon, and even then it's a pain to look at a gold eyesore or a botkiller, i have 1 or two botkillers myself and i cringe at the sight, but i can't bear to part with them, the botkillers i actually like are the medi-gun, knife and wrench, i think they're cool, so yeah, if you're looking for a demo, medic or smg sniper (it sounds silly but it just does like 225-750 damage in no time) i also use the huntsman ('cause f*** the metagame) to get a lot of damage off, sometimes i use jarate but that's rare, i pretty much play any class on mvm but those are the most played although scout and spy are classes i'm not fond of on mvm (i can't hit shots for sh*t as a scout) heavy/demoknight are played on occasion so yeah, pm me, i'll add you, i'll wage against the machine with you, maybe some trading will get involved xD who knows, tf2 is a crazy world, and wow this message is long, and i have overused the comma, why? that's a question that baffles me, i mean, comma, and comma, i guess because i like to type/write how i would read it, each comma is a pause to breath, what is doing on? what is life? what is shrek? think about that next time you play "that goat game"-Jerma985 y'know, and to finish this comment OMG STAR_ MADE A YU-GEE-OHS REFERENCE, CAPS IS GREAT COMMA, COMMA, COMMA, YO COMMA'S SO FAT! Same here! When I found out about the new missions, I thought they added new maps, but it were just the default maps with different waves.
I'm going to get like 20 tickets, and go full expert and try to get austrailiums with golden heads 4 swag... I personally like the heads
You only get the gold heads on certain "Advanced" versions of MvM, I think its the ones that are not Two Cities, plus Two Cities in my opinion is better than Gear Grinder as more people are playing Two Cities than Gear Grinder. But, good look with it though.

ya, but that crit is better off used on someone like, i don't know, the DEMO? or crit can be saved for heavy when he is not shooting a tank, like a giant.
I prefer to alternate - let the demo use all of his bullets, switch kritzkrieg to heavy for a brief moment then switch back as the launcher has loaded
yes, you heal someone else when they are reloading, but specifically, STAR crited the heavy on tank twice while the demo was spamming stickies.

Kritzkrieg and Quick-Fix build uber at the same rate. The ability to upgrade the Quick-Fix to compensate for its lack of overheal makes it less sucky, but a Kritz medic is going to be an overall greater contribution since he won't have to spend hundreds of credits on crit canteens to help boost his team's damage output.
Not to mention, the Quick-Fix's uber is useless when stacked up against fifteen seconds of guaranteed crits or even just a straight invuln.

In the mid of a wave I saw the pop-up "FRIENDNAME is playing TF2", like he was just relaunching TF2. Weird. He never dropped the Mann-up Server but the Coordinator Server thought differently.

the soldier speaking demoman is something i found out. when a teammate presses "ready" the voice line is playecd through your character so you can hear it at full volume
I find it fun to randomly meet a bunch of strangers and see if we can beat the missions.
He means like an upgrade in MvM that increases your medi gun range, so you can be farther away from them while you heal and uber.

It does explain technically how the volume of everyone on your team readying up is as loud as though your character were saying it himself.
Star, not everybody is a pro like you and your friendos. My friends and I had a reasonable challenge playing MvM , sometimes even hard as shit that made us ragequit.
Expert mode Decoy is a horde of nightmares.
Imagine, if you will, it's halloween. MVM has dried out, and we all are ready for something. Then... it hits... man vs zombies. (in Mannworks spawn, i think there is a zombie arm in a window behind you. It's either that, or just a plain old dead spy arm.)
The reason why the soldier said "move it lads!" at the end is because when someone presses f4, actually you say their line yourself which is why it's always the same volume.

Something I've seen, though, is that sometimes the bots seem to get bugged and appear bigger than they are, but their stats remain the same. Might be because of lag, but it does happen. Honorable mentions....normal Scout and Medic bots that look giant for at least one person on the team.
I think a MvM survival would be fun. Make it so that continuous bots come at your team until you all die. However, keep money relevant with upgrades and the ability to buy back in so you don't lose. Make it like horde mode from Gears of war 3, and have about 50 waves, Reward people in the end and there you go. This would make it interesting by adding new styles of robots and that sort of thing.

The same thing that happened to you happened to me STAR, me and my friend finished a mann up game that we hadn't done before, got our tickets back and no items, everybody else got items. My friend even sent a message to valve addressing what had happened, they replied that they will be onto it right away and will most likely fix it in the next patch, then a new patch comes out, changing mvm significantly and fixing other bugs, then the same thing happens to you, CLAPS FOR VALVE!!!
Star, the botkiller knives are also different. It's kind of hard to describe without looking a t a picture, but it's not just a stupid head on a chain.
The mouth thing at the end is a glitch that I noticed a while ago, it always appears to you like your character is saying the ready up lines, this also works while taunting.
Spy can disable huge clusters of robots and get away undetected with his sappers.
Just as a side note, Snipers can kill huge clusters with explosive headshots.
I had the same thing, STAR. I (FINALY) finished Decoy and there I was, NO items, tour of duty ticked unused. No botkiller.
After 2 hours of playing an expert map, we finally beat it, which is also when TF2 decided to crash on me. It didn't consume my ticket, nor did it count as a win or give me any stuff.
Im surprised that MvM doesn't have like unusual effects specific to MvM. Unusuals you could only get from playing MvM. That'd be cool.

That weirdness at the end were the dead soldier talks is because when someone presses F4, the ready sound emits from the player as if they were saying it...

you can find advanced missions if you actually look in the 'browse servers' tab and find maps that say coaltown_advanced1
You are one of the first people I've met on TF2 that thinks the botkillers are ugly, and in a way, I kind of agree. I stil want that blood splattered one though. Good video as always.
if you disconnect from the item server at any point during the game you don't get loot, don't use your ticket and don't count as finishing the map.

I played on a MvM server with Admins and they had a mode on the map and it was called Longshot, and it took us 2 hours to finish the round.

Hey Star, I've watched a _lot_ of your TF2 videos. Thanks for making them. I've gotten a couple of my co-workers watching them too. I've told them about a couple of moments in them that I think they should see, but I can't remember which videos they were in, and you have so many videos it is hard to find them. I wonder if you could help me find them.

I found the medic airblast kill, so nm on that. I guess I was kind of dumb about that- of course it is in the video called "The Pyro's Fault." But I'd still really like to track down the Huntsman taunt kill of the Ubered Heavy, and that I can't find. Thanks.
Actually, the dead-talking soldier is a glitch, i was playing MvM before with my friends, i was taunting with the heavy until i soldier checked the ready box, i saw and heard heavy's saying "I'm Ready!"

The Scorch Shot from the Pyromania update was a Steam Workshop item, but I agree, more weapons would be good.
I agree, personally I was hoping for something more of a survival without waves but upgrades. Maybe then it would last longer cause people could upgrade more and have more fun but even then any survival concept waves or no waves will die within months.

What's really fun is to find a MvM server that gives you do much money you can buy everything, and be "round 666". There's at least 100 of everything.
There's an image file in the TF2 materials particles folder (not sure exactly where it is), find it and edit it.
We, Gangsta Gang Gaming, lost some key players to busier personal lives. Ma3la and myself were too busy and not up to the task of rebuilding the team for season 8. If we have the time, we will rebuild the team for season 9. We have been very disappointed with the overall quality of platinum highlander teams so far in season 8.

I think and hope that Jacob means that in Mann vs. Machine you should be able to upgrade your medigun's range, in the same way an engi is able to upgrade his dispenser range. I agree that if they do implement a medigun with extended range, it'd have to have some significant negative buffs.

As I've said, still a bit specific, without much variation, but mainly because their role revolves around their one-hit kill capabilities.
The sad thing is, what the Spy can do, a Scout can do better, and more; and the Sniper is more outclassed than anything, because Soldiers and Demos have about the same role.
The spy knife looks neat too.
Sniper: Jarate giant's to either slow them down or to get them destroyed. prevent the bomb carrier from boosting from a good distance. Snipe sniper bots. Defend the drop point from a larger radius. Take out multiple enemies in single shot's. Kill medi-bots before they get a chance to uber.
Spy: Grab the money that the team can't get to. Deal extra damage to the giants. 1 Hit kill regular bots. Sap bots to slow them down. Take out medic's and snipers. Prevent armies of enemies getting through.
It IS one of the best things added to TF2(next to Payload),but the problem is it has little replay value,unless you play to get swag,and that is only available for people with tickets.
They should add a buff to melee weapons which is ammo on kill for primary weapons because dispensers and pickups don't give you ammo in a progressing wave.

I think it's called Gear Grinder because it's likea meatgrinder, but for robots. Instead of pieces of animals going in and ground meat coming out, you've got robots going in and broken gears and pieces of robots coming out. Ideally.
