Back in 2008 when I rehearsed with my first real band. The guitarist asked me if I had a combo speaker that I could bring to the garage. I brought a bass cab and our guitarist plugged in his guitar and put on some distortion. Holy shit it sounded brutal. We pretty much got the "The Cleansing" (Suicide Silence) tone instantly without a bass player. Good times.
i agree - they make great guitar tones. if i didn't already have a guitar amp i would buy one of the ampeg rockit bass amps now and use it as a swiss army knife amp.
I've been using one of these as a guitar amp with my hardcore band for the past couple months and I'm not even embarassed about it anymore. Its really all you need for small clubs and most people don't even know the difference unless they play music themselves
I also play metal guitar through my $100 fender rumble and it sounds surprisingly awesome. Also great for clean tone with a nice reverb pedal. Thought I was the only one!
I’ve been doing that for decades. I plugged into my Digitech effects rig, then ran the stereo outputs into a pair of Hartke B120’s. The low end was phenomenal and shook the fuck out of everything that wasn’t nailed down in the club.
People are finaly realizing amps arnt exaclty instrument specific. Building and designing speaker cabs and basic electronics tought me this. But guitar companies are in the past and dont even disclose frequency graphed plots for their products.
I was looking for a guitar amp for my first guitar (arriving today), but I guess the Rumble 100 I already have for my short-scales is gonna do great for a longwhile
This is promising. When I get home from work I'm going to be hooking up my Bugera infinium v22 into an Ampeg 8x10. Sure do hope that the box sound good with guitar and guitar amp.
Fender bassmans are some of the best amps around was curious what the rumble sounded like with a lil bit of dirt throw in, now I know thanks m8 would be a killer doom rig
That's what I'm experimenting with. I'm doing research on playing guitar through bass amps. For Doom metal! Bet my baritone would sound sick through a bass amp too. I'm selling all of my amps to fund this. I just want to make sure I'm not making a mistake lol. Thinking of getting the Ampeg Micro-CL 2x10" 100-watt Bass Stack
Best guitar amp I ever had 62 bass man stack 40 watt . Did not really understand what I had till I got it home and couldn’t believe the tone it produced from my crappy fender jag
It's hard to pick up the sound over video but I love playing on a bass amp over guitar amp anytime. Just a fuller body sound great for metal. It's more moist instead of a dry sound
So that amp is great for bass and electric?? Basically the one amp that you would only need for personal use at home? (Also with your choice of pedals but you get it)
So, even though I was looking for demos of guitar thru these Rumble bass combos, I expected not to like this song - for whatever reason: prejudice, stupidity, etc. - but I really liked the arrangement. It's maybe a little flat sounding like not enough separation between the guitar and bass tones, but very good playing overall. My only critique on the performance side would be to maybe not slap as hard on that one bass section, keep it to one bar, or leave that out entirely. As for the demo side of it, I dig the sound - good clarity but I guess the 210s are going to be tight; doesn't get muddy at all or mushy in the low mids. Whats the direct out like on that? Does it compare with that cab thru a mic? Have you played any jazz thru that yet?
hey man cool sounds, it's actually one of affordable bass amp that could be useful for a good guitar tone with a little tweaking, i've one too fender rumble 25v3, hookup with boss eq pedal and some stomp stuff, sounds amazing for live gigs, great job buddy
When I play with a guitar on my 100w Fender Rumble V3, there is a drastic volume and bass drop after 1 minute of playing. It happens with my headphones or just by playing through the speaker. Ever had that problem?
Any idea if this would do well with an entry level modeling pedal? Ie. Is it flat enough to serve as a FRFR type speaker in a pinch? I'd love a single solution for both bass and guitar. This song and playing was great. Listened twice!
thanks mark! i don’t think it’s flat like a FRFR but i’ve never played a FRFR that i remember. the way it colors the signal though… it’s very warm and pleasant as fuck - you could try and dial that out or use the effects loop but i don’t think you’ll ever get it to sound like a PA
@@danielsnorton thanks for your reply. I don't like to buy a lot of things, and am searching for the ultimate solution. That may not exist. I'm also just an amateur and not performing, so getting an exact modeled marshall tone out of a fender amp is not that important. Thanks again!
@@danielsnorton tengo un rumble fender de 25 y me suenan muy feo los agudos. Lo he probado varias veces y a mi parecer suenan mal. Los riff suenan muy bien, eso si. Esa es mi experiencia.

This a great demo and also the song was actually pretty creative in form. Sounds like it could genuinely support a singer.

I love how the camera shakes because of it
Your riffage reminds me of Deliverance era Opeth with a bit of the sharp Still Life tone. The amp kicks ass, I might even grab that damn pedal
