    Cristi, you're the BEST!! FWIW You're the first Channel I go to when I face difficulties like using Placeholders in Camtasia... that's first even before TechSmith's website... which should tell everyone a lot about how useful your videos are!
    I decided to use placeholders for the first time today in a video project and couldn't make them work without a lot of wasted effort. After watching just this one short video on your Channel I was able to make the placeholders behave exactly as I needed them to work! Thanks for taking the time to fully explain the options at 8:09 as I never knew what options like "ripple replace" meant or how they work... now I do!
    Best,
    Matt

      Thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback. I am glad that video helped. I think I might have to redo it, it's a little old.

      @@Graphicious FWIW I used placeholders for the Gift Card graphics in this video

      Everything you explained and described in the video seemed to be current in the most recent update to camtasia but if you know of meaningful changes to using Place holders I'm sure other viewers would appreciate your take on those new features and uses as much as I would.

      Yeah, I'll wait and see now until next month, when Camtasia 2022 has been announced. We'll see then if I need to update some of the tutorials, if they introduced new stuff.

    Thank you Sir. İt is very kind of you.
    And I would like to say something. If you want to use fade for more than one part, you should select all parts, and drag drop on one of the parts. It's fine. Thank you again.

    why does drag and drop files directly into the program work for you? After all, it seems that this does not work in version 21?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 роки тому

      It should work, if the files are supported

    hello
    , what happens if you put in that placeholder a recorded movie that is shorter or longer than the placeholder itself?? Do you then have to move all the elements in the other tracks to adjust it??

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 роки тому

      You can select Ripple Replace when you add it and it will expand or contract to fit the video, pushing the following clips away or pulling the forward. I forgot whether that affects clips on other tracks too.

    everything is easy with a photo. but could not remove how to work with video files? there, when you drag a video of different sizes, the program offers a choice of four menu items, and I don’t know what to press while doing this. and it's a very handy feature.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 роки тому

      You probably want to choose Ripple replace most times. This will ensure the placeholder is extended to fit the video and everything pushed back.

    I still can’t fill out videos if they differ in size, in duration.

    💻🎬👀Had to come back and watch again! lol I wasn't holding the cursor over the placeholder long enough. But also, the 🍏Mac version behaves just a tiny bit different. 👍👏Thanks again for this! I'm already implementing! 🦾

      Welcome back! Yeah, dragging stuff on top of placeholders can be tricky. You have to wait for the placeholder to turn green and stay green before you drop your file.
