Great video! For the first tip, I think the way you show method 2 is a little too complex and too many steps. I am using the Custom Animation almost 100% of the time. I hardly use any other of the pre-made animations because the custom animation does everything. Simply place the playhead where you want your animation to finish, press Shift + A to add an animation and then scale your clip to where you want it. Done, in two steps. On my channel I encourage all Camtasia users to get accustomed to the Custom Animation. You will not use another animation again!

Thanks for doing this, I've been using Camtasia since 2007 V4. I really like it. I just did a Camtasia instructional video using Win10 "My Phone" to show how to use an Android phone app. I haven't done nearly as many videos as you have but I like what you showed here. Thanks again.
Might want to point out on the "ripple delete" that this will run into issues if you have multiple layers. Also earlier versions of Camtasia refer to this as "cut"... they switched the nomenclature to ripple delete to better align with other video editing software so it wasnt confusing.

I've been taking a series of Excel courses, and apparently the standard at that website is to superimpose a fairly large yellow circle around the mouse pointer. It obscures the spreadsheet detail that I am straining to see, including the contents of the cell and the very formula that is being taught. Please just stick with the actual mouse pointer if you are producing online content.

Question for you - Let's say a company wants to create several training videos for its staff, as well as oreintation videos for its potential clients (the "quiz" feature is a GREAT way to collect data, so the customer does not have to repeat themselves throughout the sales cycle). I understand that these videos (with the interactive functionality) can be stored on a SharePoint site. Our company is on Office 365 and would like to grant access to these videos on an as-needed basis or in groups. For example, if user is part of finance team, they can access the finance training video series. Can this be done? If so, would this be something you could provide a tutorial on?
Hi Chris - I produce training and orientation videos for my company and host them on SharePoint. You can certainly do this. Note the following: 1. Depending on your Security Settings, you should be able to allow targeted access to specific groups. One easy way to do that would be to set up separate SharePoint folders, with rights set to specific user groups like Accounting, IT, Sales, etc. Then upload the targeted content to the appropriate folders. You can also set up a folder with company wide/enterprise wide access for more general content. 2. If you use any of the interactive functions of Camtasia, where users can jump to sections of the video by clicking an embedded button, quizes, etc. you will need to produce your videos with an mp.4 smart player and then you will need to upload all of the supporting files to your SharePoint site for those things to work. It's not intuitive, but I've done it. There isn't a lot of content out there that I've found, but I also haven't looked for it recently so maybe there is now. If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this post. If you'd like we can even set up a zoom meeting to look at it.

I made a report generation excel sheet .I have a text box and command button in sheet named ‘form’ . Value from the text box get updated In sheet name ‘data’ . In data sheet there are two columns one is Sl no and other is article number. In column a4 onwards - Sl no comes and in b4 text box entry comes for first 50 entries. For 51 to 100 Sl no comes in c4 onwards and data from text box in d4 onwards. I want if Sl no is odd : Sl no in column A and data from text box in column B. If Sl no is even: Sl no in column c and data from text box in column d. A. B. C. D. Sl no. Article. Sl no. Article. 1. 12456. 2. 45567 Value in b and D are from single text box In excel
6:20 HOW are you able to get a video that complex with it Camtasia slowing to a crawl??? Any time I have a video between 5 to 10 minutes or so with just ONE TRACK and lots of small edits, Camtasia becomes sluggish to the point that it’s UNUSABLE.

Thanks for these videos! When editing slow motion, is it possible to move to slow motion and back to normal speed smoothly? Camtasia goes straight from one speed to slow motion and back to normal. I would love to change speed progressively. I haven't found information regarding this.
Very good tips. Thanks for showing the proxy feature and the warning of the lower quality during editing. I was excited when that feature first came out, but the lower quality makes it hard to see Excel if the screen capture is converted to a proxy.
Thanks Oz. For screencasts it's not that necessary because they don't tend to be that big. It's mainly for long headshots especially when recorded in 4K.

Hmm, we're using it daily for much more complex edits. It's probably related to your hardware.
