Chris... MORE... You need to do more videos like that. It's so engaging. You can even go beyond movie sets and investigate "real" legends and supposedly haunted locations. That would be awesome.
Much agreed! It's refreshing and engaging and coming from Chris it's so much more legitimate and fun
Yeah, and can also be an inspiration to make a film.
Paranormal Paranoids!
Oh boy I miss the old Chris so much. I still remember his video in the Shawshank prison. I miss the Worst of the year videos, The Hillariocity videos but most of all I missed the Analyzed reviews.
Chris could become the Joseph Campbell of movie critics!!!
You’ve come so far chris we’re proud of you 🙌🏽
I own signs on DVD it always reminds me of Chris stuckman
fr man 🥲
epic
Facts you deserve it bruv can't wait for the movie!!!!
100% , Chris’s passion for what he does reaches through your screen and welcomes you into his world
You have no idea how.... Unalone it makes me to know that there is someone else out there that loves Signs just as much as I do. I get made fun of for it all the time but that movie changed me. It's so important to me and I get made fun of because people hate M. Night. I love this, thank you. You are awesome.
I'm right there with you!!!
Signs and The Village were really my first foray into the horror genre as a whole! I remember losing sleep over Signs and how invigorated the feeling made me.
I definitely understand how disheartening it can be to see people shitting on Shyamalan movies. The recent works might not've been winners but his early work shaped me into the person I am today and was at the core of a lot of friendships I have.
I'm new to Chris' channel but his love for a movie that I consider a certified classic just fills my heart so much!
You are, indeed, unalone!
To this day people still make fun of Signs because they didn't pay attention. I can't remember how many times the movie made it clear that these were somekind of demons susceptible to **holy** water, but people still go "hurrdurr aliens wouldn't be hurt by regular water!"
How can anyone make fun of such a brilliant movie?? Signs is a masterpiece.
I've come to the conclusion that most people who watch movies are just dumb. It's the same reason people don't love the dark knight rises despite it being a masterpiece and the perfect end to a trilogy. People just aren't intelligent enough to comprehend things
@@Beecher_Arts I can understand being made fun of for liking Lady in the Water (which I really do) but not Signs. Signs is way too good and well made for even the dumbest of people to think it could be made fun of for any reason. The village is great too and usually people's super dumb way of making fun of it is just spoiling the end.
@@VikingTeddy plus it just shows how badly the movie went over their heads. Signs isn't even about aliens. Signs is the Fast and the Furious. It's about family
I have never watched Signs. But I love how passionate Chris is about it. So, I have decided to watch it now as a respect for Chris' passion and love for the movie.
I just rewatched it with family a couple weeks ago. It's a masterpiece!
It’s a fantastic movie. In fact, I think The Sixth Sense is a 10/10. Unbreakable is a 9.5/10. And Signs is a 9/10. Then after that he went from average to… wow.
But that doesn’t change his epic trilogy of absolute classics.
I stumbled upon this movie in 2008 on Netflix and only rewatched again yesterday (2023) with my wife. This movie and the Village are such remarkable, unforgettable masterpieces
Signs is a Shyamalan classic alongside with The Sixth Sense for me. I love watching both movies atleast once a year. I hope someday Shyamalan would recruit Chris to do a movie together, that would be awesome and a dream come true for Chris. Good luck on your movie Chris, make Shyamalan proud of you 🙌🙌
Unbreakable is his masterpiece.
Agreed JB. That movie is so profound. The Sixth Sense is also an unforgettable classic & Ive always enjoyed Signs.
Old >>>
@@james87367 Nonsense. He's never made a "masterpiece" but his best film is "The Visit". I was the only one who watched it, so believe me when I tell you it's so.
OLD is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. Super underrated.
Great location tour Chris, can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the film released 🙏
It's pretty wild that the sweeping highly choreographed and expensive helicopter shots that really sold the film 20 years ago are now possible by one person with consumer level equipment.
Super-imposing the house and circles onto the land was a great way to explore the location too.
Been a subscriber since 87k…this feels like a childhood friend who made it big. Seriously happy and proud of you, Chris. Keep going, man! 🥹
It's been about 10ish years following Chris' channel -- Now that I am realizing how long it's been. Crazy. ...but it's so cool seeing him make his own like big-dog movie. Wild. Was very happy that I was able to kick money to the cause.

This the kind of content I wanna see
Absofuckinglutely
20 freaking years after I saw Signs and still gives me the creeps. Visiting the location must have been like a time capsule, a quite amazing experience.
I can't imagine how good you must feel having your first feature film in the can. Congrats man, you're an inspiration. Your passion is infectious and you deserve to have good things to come to you.
Must feel terrible
In the can? Did it get scrapped? Or do you mean in the bag?
@@cbthecollector He means "in the can" referring to the can they keep actual film reels in.
@@cbthecollector In the can is a term for when filming is finished.
haven’t seen signs but i love seeing chris as a happy lad
One of the most enduringly - & unjustly - criticised films of the 21st century.
I’ve seen a viewing of Jaws where the crowd are on tubes with their feet in a lake at night. Signs in a nighttime crop field would be fun.
Except Jaws is a much better movie.🤦♂️🤣
This is genius I would pay good money
Pfft. It's just a rip-off of the much superior "Invasion of the Triffids".
Sorry that movie was awful
Jaws was a much better movie than almost anything ever made. What’s your point?
What wonderful nostalgia, this video will be a Proust madeleine for many enthusiasts.
Honestly I think Chris’ love for Signs has been passed on to a lot of people. It was one of the first movies I saw him talking about on this channel so many years ago, and now I’m a much bigger fan of the art form than I ever thought I would be. I think the inspiration he drew from Signs is so earnest and palpable through his videos that it even inspires other people. Watching the film brings me back to a time when I was first discovering what movies could be, and I have Chris to thank for that. So cool to see you revisit this after all that has happened recently.
That was his best video. Amazing breakdown.
Signs is literally the one movie that scarred me the most as a kid. It wasn't Jason, Freddy, Halloween, Chucky, etc.
I remember I was 14, still a young kid and watching it with all my neighbor friends at their house. We were all between 12-15 year olds.
The thing wih this movie is that it felt real, cause aliens could actually exist. After watching all those alien scenes on Signs, as soon as I arrived at my house late at night, I remember closing all the windows of my bedroom, afraid the tall alien would pop up at any time. And from that day on, I always slept with all my windows closed until I was like 19-20. That's how much the aliens traumatized me.
Signs might not be the best horror movie ever, but it sure left a mark on me. It's still a good horror movie.
Serox, same. I think I was 9 when this came out? I don't remember a lot of movies scaring me for a long time, but that motherfucking birthday scene on the news in Signs....and then they paused it on that clip of it emerging from the crops......hellllll noooooo! I still find that part creepy because the design holds up pretty well (until the last fight scene, obvs) and it still triggers that little kid in me hahahah. I also lived in a town outside of Phoenix that was ALL farmland at the time. Corn crop fields EVERYWHERE! After Signs came out, it was a summer game to run into the crops and whoever stayed in there the longest won. I always lost 🤣
Cannot sit through the Village.
Bro, I loved this. One of my favorite movies as well. You did a great job bringing life to many of the scenes. Must’ve been nice to experience it. You should do more of these for films you cherish.
I absolutely love Signs. I remember watching it with my mom in theaters when I was a freshman in high school. I got my love of horror movies and novels from her, so this movie was a great son/mom movie experience.
It's so heartwarming to see how far you've come Chris Stuckmann! You've always inspired me and in my darkest times made me feel happy with your videos are part of what inspired my passion for both film as an art form and critiquing and appreciating it fondly and ever since film has been a precious and special moment of my life! Thank you so much and can't wait to see your stories come to life!
This movie will always be close to my heart, and one of my favorite films of all time. Thank you, Chris, for this wonderful appreciation for Signs!
As much as I did NOT like how the movie ended, I gain a bittersweet appreciation for it due to the way it was shot and the themes explored such as fear and how it paralyzes the senses only to discover how inept that catalyst of your fear truly is and you find yourself saying, “I was afraid of THAT?!”
My favorite scene from the movie is still the shot of the alien claw coming towards the camera in the pantry scene. There was no jump-scare music or music overall. It was silent and very effective.
Watching your video about the locations makes me want to watch the movie again despite how I felt about the ending. Signs is a unique movie to me for it is a solid example of a bittersweet experience watching a film.
Chris really has come a long way. From short films to this… 👏👏
As a Newtown local, hope you enjoyed your trip!!! Chelsea at the NBRE really is the sweetest!! And it's really weird to watch this video not a quarter mile away from the historical district where you filmed!!
We lived in Newtown from 77-80. Great little colonel town.
Dude I know, right? I’m a local too. It’s cool to see it all through chris’ perspective. Especially when he was driving through Tyler. Should have gone a bit further and hit up the dam!
Signs was my best theater experience. I was 17, and the whole audience was into it. Had to cover my eyes at certain parts. I didn't realize at the time that it was one of the last good theater experiences I'd ever have. :/
Signs and Contact are forever my top movies :) thanks for all your love to film making Chris.
I fell in love with this movie while watching this with my parents on DVD, when it had just come out.
I know most people were spooked, but after seeing the alien at the party and Joaquin Phoenix freaking out, it became what was probably my first favorite horror film and I'd watch it day after day after day.
I was about 3, at the time.
THANK YOU FOR THE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE, CHRIS, I'M ROOTING FOR YOU ALL THE WAY!!! 🤟✊👊🙌💪
great location tour Chris !!! can't believe it's been over 20 years since the film released, and man you've came so far man, we're so proud of u
so epic
Thanks for this Chris!! When I 1st saw signs in theaters, I was soo scared, the movie was stuck in my head for weeks. Its 1 thing to make a sci-fi alien film with humor & s'effects, but signs is a whole different type of movie that takes the fantasy out and keeps it real as possible. This is 1 of my fav movies of all time. I have to rewatch this at least every 2-3 yrs. Good wrk & vid!! 👍👍
The very first video I ever saw of Chris' was his review for Unbreakable. Pretty much everything he said in that video made me feel like someone was voicing my literal thoughts. Since 2010, it's been my favorite film of all time and it's easily one of the most underrated movies ever made.
Ok now I want Chris to do one of these with every of his favorite movies, this was so fun and interesting to watch!
I have been waiting for this! Signs is one of my all time favorite movies. An absolutely incredible theater experience. I am a huge fan and super happy to see you fulfilling your dreams. Excellent work, chris!!
such a perfect film. i think i’ve seen it at least 15-20 times and i still notice new things about it upon each viewing
Been following Chris over 10
Years. Chris we are so happy to see you where you are now and we are all super proud bro!
I took my kid brother to watch Signs when it first came out, at a far away theater from our town and we had a blast. My brother would always talk about the experience we had and how it opened his eyes to film. Even after all these years, he still talks about it. Thank you for this video
I've never been a fan of this movie, but I respect your admiration of it. It's always pleasant to see people be inspired by something. So, good on you, Chris. I wish you the best of luck with your career.
Do you have any criticisms of the movie that dont involve the alien and water at the way end?
@@Spongebrain97 some people just have unpopular opinions of a movie for whatever reasons and you might find their reasoning weird so better not to ask.
@@Spongebrain97 Honestly, those have never been complaints I've had with it. I think its story of faith is ludicrous and over-simplified.
@@realDialFforFilm I do agree the subject of faith is done oversimplified however one time when I rewatched the film it occurred to me that this was maybe intentional. Like that scene where Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix are watching the tv in the dark and discussing faith vs coincidence, it feels real because thats how some people actually process it. I don't agree with the logic being applied but there are some people like Phoenix's character who have random freaky experiences and overthink it by inputting divine intervention and Shamalan is probably one of these people.
@@Spongebrain97 They were demons not aliens and the water was blessed
Signs is just one of the best movies ever made, in my humble opinion. A masterpiece. Thank you for this videos chris
I paused this video a minute in, went and watched Signs for the first time, and came back. Great movie.
thats beautiful, we need more of these movie pilgrimages! only jus occurred to me that as more and more films are being shot with VR and on volume-type systems, fewer and fewer physical locations will be used and thus immortalised in this way.
I love when people pursue their dreams man. It’s amazing to watch
This is great. I love this movie. I was actually 9 and my mom bought this movie. I watched it in my theater room and honestly as a kid it blew my mind. it fascinated me and ever since then I give props to M. Night Shyamalan. I rewatch this movie every couple years and its such a treat
I was born, raised and currently living not far from that location, and like you Chris, a Shyamalan movie awakened a deep passion for movies too (Unbreakable for me). Great video and I can’t wait to Shelby Oaks.
What an interesting insight into the movie. It makes sense that they would have an additional crop circle for filming. I loved Signs. It is by far one of Shayamalam's best pieces of work. Except for 6th Sense of course.
I've been watching your videos for over 10 years and I am so happy for you. I still remember when you first told us you were going to film school 🙂 Congrats on everything, you really deserve it! 💚
Been watching you for years Chris, I'm 25 now but back when I was studying film as a teenager I used to find a lot of great new movies to watch, and then write essays about, from your channel. To see you at the point you're at now in the final stretch of your movie is amazing and I know all your subscribers are super happy for you man.
I lived right near where they shot the movie in Pennsylvania! our local pharmacy "burns pharmacy" which is located in Morrisville. So many people showed up that Mel Gibson bought ice cream for everyone and told them to go home! Wonderful video though. You have come so far and we are all so proud of you!
Chris, watching not only this channel grow but more specifically you grow in general has been a fascinating experience on UA-cam for me. Been subbed to you for a while now, and your vids are always so calming to me whether it be a review, a more personal vid about you or going on adventures like this and even Blockbuster (please do more lol). Keep up the great content, I will always root for people like you on this platform. You're one of the goats.
Signs is one of my favorite films ever made. Such an under-rated movie 🎬
Wow…pure movie magic!!! Thanks Chris for giving us that tour.
When i was in video production class in high school with my film loving friends we all dreamed of becoming film directors, producer, and writers. I became a Data Analyst. You are living that dream we had. Don't stop. I also love The Village. A SoCal boy at heart sending luv from NJ.
I love this! Thank you for sharing Stuckmann! :)
What a great video!
I found the satellite images from different years especially fascinating. But also the bookshop and of course the cornfields at night.
I mean, ever since I saw the movie 20 years ago, cornfields are a little scary at night. And you not only go into a cornfield at night, it is even THE cornfield. The cornfield from Signs!
If you enjoy this, I would love to see more location videos.
It's a real bummer the house wasn't there anymore, but everything else is pretty neat! Well done with everything, Chris!
Thank you so much for the video Chris. It was awesome! I remember watching signs with my girlfriend (now my wife) back in 2002 and absolutely loved it!! I watch it at least twice a year!! Can’t believe it’s been 20 years!! Sending you lots of love to you and your family from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺💙❤️💙❤️
Such an inspiration! Your movies will inspire kids of the future just like Shyamalan did you
Now this is what I call great content! You going out in that corn field at night I know was low-key you partly facing your own fears from that scene as a kid as well, but it's so dope to see! Thanks for bringing us your perspective on this movie man!
With no desire to disparage the rest of your channel, Chris (which I think is great), this is one of the coolest and most emotional videos you've ever made. Congratulations. Admirers of Shyamalan's work now have a great bonus document from one of his best films. Thank you!
This is fuckin spiritual man. Honestly. I have always credited signs as being the movie that made me a filmmaker, and 20 years later I can say I have also made my first feature film. I don’t know where I’d be without this movie and M Night. And you’re a huge inspiration Chris. One of the best reviewers and filmmakers that people can watch right now and relate to. Thank you man
Been waiting for this🤩
Signs is a brilliant film!
To have this much passion for a film and to be able to organize your life for a visit like this....it gives me goosebumps! Congratulations.
I too was spellbound throughout this film.
Mesmerized as I walked out. One of my all time faves.
Well done on your inspired achievements!
(great drone shots btw)
“Alright I’m in Tyler State Park. I don’t know what I’m looking for… a tree..?”
Damn that was kinda dark lmao
Man I’d love to see more videos like this whenever you have the time.
Same!
As a Newtown/ bucks county resident who was in high school during the filming I remember how excited we all were at that time. The only thing that annoyed me was that the movie made us seem more rural. I loved the movie. Glad you got to visit !
Absolutely love Signs, one of favourites. So happy to see this.
Signs was underrated imo. It gets way too much hate because people have beef with M. Night Shyamalan for whatever reason. I might watch it again tonight.
Still to this day, SIGNS remains my favorite movie theater experience ever. I watch it annually, and like you, it made me want to tell original stories. I didn't go the film route; instead, I made graphic novels.
This was a ton of fun, and I can't wait to see your movie!
This was soooo good. I have a soft spot for Signs. It's a movie that defies conventions. It goes backwards. The movies horizen-metaphorically of course-gets smaller and smaller. While the convention is that things get bigger. And I love a director that keeps his camera bloody still. More mini documentaries like this would be a welcome treasure.
I've watched Signs recently after watching Chris's review of the film and now, this film has become one of my favorites among so many good ones. Definitely a classic!
"Signs" scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, such an intense movie
*BREAKING NEWS: The set of Shelby Oaks* is currently on fire as Chris Stuckman leaves the director’s chair - mid scene - to go visit the “Signs” movie location..
I don't even like Signs, but I like Chris's enthusiasm for Signs. We all have that one movie that resonates with us, and it's good to see a filmmaker revisit the film locations that inspired them.
Wow, great video. I LOVE "Signs". It gets a bad rep for its ending, but what a great movie it is. I leave to the great Roger Ebert to say it all: "M. Night Shyamalan's "Signs" is the work of a born filmmaker, able to summon apprehension out of thin air. When it is over, we think not how little has been decided, but how much has been experienced. Here is a movie in which the plot is the rhythm section, not the melody. A movie that stays free of labored explanations and a forced climax, and is about fear in the wind, in the trees, in a dog's bark, in a little girl's reluctance to drink the water. In signs."
It’s so weird seeing my hometown in one of your videos and watching you explore a bunch of the places that I grew up around.
The pizza place is actually still open, they just moved maybe 4-5 blocks down the street.
Awesome video; if you’re ever back in Newtown, I’d absolutely like to buy you a drink 😂
Do you guys have a US Army recruiting station? Or that was made up?
@@mikejunior211 There's several in the area, but none in Newtown itself
Signs will always be one of my favorite movies. I wish we got more “good” alien movies.
That deer doing a 1:1 recreation of that scene with the flashlight was unreal. One in a million.
Thank you so much for this, Chris. Such a well-made and thoughtful tribute to one of my favorite movies of all time. :)
SIGNS 2 Starring Chris Stuckmann let's make it happen!!👏
Chris, are you gonna review better call Saul the same way you reviewed breaking bad when the finale aired?
This was SUCH a great video, and a great experience to have and share with us! Really loved this!!!!!
Awesome stuff, Chris. Been a fan for a long time and I’m so happy for you and all the success you’ve earned. Keep up the great content 👍
One of my all time favorite films of all time
Such an underrated (and misunderstood) film. Same can be said about The Village. Both are two of our favorites. Thanks for doing this Chris.
hands down top tier video about a movie. I loved it. Its not over artsy nor over hyped and over the top, it is professional and intimate. congratulations Chris. So happy you got to knew the place.
The amount of care and passion that went into this is awesome! Thank you for sharing your love for movies 🍿
Dang Chris!!! This was so great!! I appreciate the time it took to bring this video to life. More of these set/location visits for iconic movies would be so interesting
This is just amazing! Thank you for posting
I love movies, but lately I spent more time looking for a movie to watch, than actually seeing one. Tonight I’m rewatching Signs.
I am glad im not the only one who got inspired by this movie. Signs was the most significant movie I ever seen growing up!
Its times like these that i wish there was a SUPERLIKE button. Great work, Chris
Welcome to Bucks County! I was a designer at the newspaper you show at the book store and remember all the coverage we had on the movie at the time. Everyone who met Mel said he was great back then. I still live halfway between Newtown and Yardley, right across from a cornfield actually. Hope you had a great time here.
Thanks for the great video Chris!!!! I very much enjoyed to say the least. Love Signs and now I must go and re-watch yet again!!!
Love how beyond nerdy you are about this. So awesome.
Geeeez did I miss just Chris talking about a movie he loves. You’re the man. That transition at 11:10 with the music too.. I can’t wait to see your film.
When any form of art work inspires others to do great things that in itself is a miracle.
LOVE signs! Thank you for this Chris!
Did not know I needed this. Thank you much! 🙌🏽 phenomenal video!
I love Signs and I would say it's my favorite MNS movie. Thank you for sharing your story. Love hearing these origin stories, especially when related to a great movie.
I've never known of anyone who loves this film more than I do until I found Chris' video on signs several years ago. I appreciate his passion for it. Also, I totally would've went for the night walk as well
Chris is such a caring and genuine guy. You deserve all the success. And yes, support local business!
thanks for everything Chris. i really enjoy your work!
