I tried to 100% the game with no exploits and almost had it in 5 hours only for the game to crash on me during the final boss fight. I could still probably do it but that honestly killed my soul

Why do you keep switching characters like that?

When you swap to a character it cancels whatever animation that character was doing (in most cases). So quickly switching between 2 characters allows you to rapidly do attacks/ cancel hitstun/etc. Using animation canceling, Shrek and Donkey each have an attack that allows them to move significantly faster than usual.
