  • Side by side comparison... Frozen and Fresh Ribeye Steaks... a great way to eat high end steaks like New York Strip, Filet Mignon Tenderloin, Sirloin or any steak... straight from your FREEZER!! while spending way less MONEY!!!... and although ALMOST ANY Sous Vide device will do...I use Instant Pots "latest and greatest" pressure cooker on the market which is the DUO EVO PLUS... this particular model does an excellent job achieving and maintaining constant temps during sous vide cooking ... unlike some other electric pressure cooker models i have tested... although...i have cooked frozen steak using my Anova stick circulator device and it has worked perfectly many times before. I think you will see what I mean when I say Sous Vide is the ultimate way to cook restaurant quality steaks (thawed or frozen) at home that are better than 9 out of 10 restaurants you go to...and ALL of your buddies...lol... watch this... and see what I mean!!!

    There is no need to separate the frozen from thawed or have them both submerged. The temperature inside of the pot will be constant. Also, like you said, whether you leave it for 3 hours or 13 hours. It will not overcook. They will be the same.

    Yea, I need to get a whole bunch of kitchen gadgets when I finally move out of here. I always cook fresh steak which is expensive and tricky to time. You proved to me that frozen steak doesn't necessarily have to be tough. As always, thank you!

    Hi John it's me from the UK and I've been subscribed to you for the past three days, in that time I've been watching you back to back every evening and just catching up with you and again i all ways look forward to coming home from work and turning you on, no pun intend lol, I'm 57 now and when i was 15 i did a five year apprenticeship as a butcher and still doing it now, when i was 24 my wife and i brought are first property, one day back then i was at a car boot sale and came across this old beaten up pressure cooker with a high dome lid, instantly it changed my life, and about 15 years later i saw a nuwave air fryer on a shopping channel and again that changed my life, I was also using sous vide in this time, sorry for going on but again you have brought back so many memories and also in the last three days you have cost me a fortune on buying the rubs and sauces that you use and omg there so good 😊the only thing that I've noticed is that you're meat especially your chicken is pumped full of water and that's a shame, anyway keep doing an amazing job and look forward to watching you in the future oh and your baby doll lol, stay safe mate and god bless.

      John read my mind as well. I was just watching your Sous Vide chicken video and was wondering how you Sous Vide frozen foods or meats as I usually buy all my meat and freeze the meat I don't plan to use in a few days.

    Last week I forgot to defrost my steaks. Heated my Sous Vide water to 132 and popped the frozen steaks right in for 2 hours. It was perfect. Maybe even better than defrosted. I only use a Sous Vide stick.

      I can understand that!!! It certainly doesn't hurt...i do dry age whole loins and you usually can't eat them all when you cut them up and was always afraid of freezing steaks... but after a few times I was totally convinced and like you said... it might even be better!!! Thanks for watching!!!

    Hey John...!! Going to try a "roast" prime rib on Sunday with the Cosori air fry oven...I think I'll sear at 450...then drop it to 200 for 2 hours...what do you think??

      That sounds good...i would definitely use a thermometer though... pull it at around 130-135 for medium... it is a great meal!!!

    I don't think I could eat my steak that rare but could it be sous vide'd longer and cooked longer in the pan? Did you get a new camera? Your video looks very sharp and clear. It stayed in focus really well too.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  4 роки тому

      You could use a little more temp and that would work too... the camera is one of the ones I usually use...thanks for watching!!!

    Have you had any problems with your EVO? Many had the C8 error message come on over and over again, even with replacement units sent by the manufacturer. Seems like a very well known and documented flaw with the EVO, it’s preventing me from buying one.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  3 роки тому

      I have not... and was not aware of the issue... thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching!!!

    • @TechWiz1983
      @TechWiz1983 3 роки тому

      John Sanders I’m glad to hear it. Been watching and reading reviews, lots of complaints on the C8 error, enough to keep you away from the unit. Found one C7 which is fatal (burner died). I really want to order it; but don’t want the problems others have encountered. I know they have amazing customer service and stand behind their products but when I hear that even replacement units have the same problem, that makes me cringe. Hoping if I buy now I’ll get a newer manufacturing date that won’t have this known C8 issue. *Fingers crossed*. Love your channel!
