If this stadium does come to fruition I’m sure we’ll be looking at something much different and much more expensive than anticipated. It’s insane that we have waited this long at we still don’t see the Bally’s additions to the property
It's similar but when you really look at both, they aren't that similar. SOH is spread out with several arch type pieces, and not very cohesive with a concrete bottom part. A's rendering is very cohesive and no concrete bottom part that sticks out like SOH. It reminds me more so of how ATL's stadium is structured. A cool modern baseball stadium for LV too. Need something unique. Some of the new stadiums like sofi, Minny's, and ATL's are very different than the norm. This one fits in with that. Really like the inside window with cable net.
There might be a case; the Tropicana was built before the airport's expansion, so the center tower (as opposed to the one closest to the strip) of the current hotel might be grandfathered in. The reason why Bally's and GLPI can't give away too much land is because they can't build above a certain height.

Maybe this stadium pictured in these renderings is still too big for the 9 acers they are limited to and or is unbuildable. I feel like they are hiding something. That could affect potential investors. I presume the only reason they are releasing renderings now is because they need to, to get investors.
Maybe; once you saw that last stadium with the full site you obviously knew it wasn't a 9 acre ballpark. And if I were designing a 9 acre ballpark, I wouldn't waste space on a promenade walking into the stadium from the outfield.

I like the picture where the albino sand worm stadium appears to be eating Circus Circus. Of course, since the A's actual lot is only 9 acres (just a pinch bigger than the Bellagio fountain), to have this height, passengers/fans will have to be harnessed in and suspended from the walls. But not the giant TV wall that will be learing down on the players throughout the game. No issue there with losing sight of the ball. At least John Fisher will not have to pay A/C bills for this open air stadium, same way he won't pay for players. These are still very misleading as the Tropicana is intentionally omitted. The only way for this project to make sense for Bally’s is to wrap their building around the stadium in the shape of an L on the northern and western sides of the lot. This would effectively give guests at the hotel a view of the roof without a view of the field, while fans would look through that glass to see…a building, or more specifically an up close and personal view of the Casino. And I think therein lies the point of this all. Every single A’s fan, Yankees fan, Dodgers fan, etc. will tune in to watch a game and be bombarded by this casino as a living, breathing advertisement all game long, every time there’s a fly ball, a home run or any view of the outfield, they get free air time. When fans want to go to Vegas for a weekend, this will be top of mind as a place to stay. I hate it. I find the stadium decent, certainly the best looking indoor baseball stadium, but it’s just not very compelling.
