Fisher didn't seek investors for Howard Terminal because he is a die hard Giants fan, former part-time owner of the Giants (had to sell his share when he bought the A's), and current Giants season ticket holder who wants to get the A's out of the Bay Area and leave it for the Giants. We already know he doesn't care about the team or the Oakland A's fans, only $$$$...WHY him!!!...damn F'n shame it had to turn out this way.....😮‍💨

He's going to weasel his way out of Vegas. He could use his family's money to build a stadium, but won't. Nobody wants to minority partner with him. Forget about a construction loan. Debt service and interest too high. That leaves SLC or Sacramento.

If I recall, Mark Davis was in a similar position, with a more appealing product (NFL vs MLB). He wound up running it on his own with more debt. Anyone that can come in with a meaningful stake will want control along with it. Raiders to Vegas wasn't an absolute $#!t show. This is. Fisher wants the 500 mil and to stay in charge. Hard to see anyone wanting to do business with him, and leave him in control.

The raiders move may not have been a total shit show, but it sure as hell is for any “home” fan! Ticket prices are sky high, and most games are filled with visiting fans. They are worth more, but a far, far cry from any home field advantage which they had in Oakland.

Vegas looks to be a tough market for a MLB team due to a market-size that can be compared to Milwaukee and Pittsburgh AND a transient population that can be compared to Miami and Phoenix. I think the smart move is for the Athletics to STAY in Sacramento as long as they can get fans from SF Bay Area to attend games. 🎯

On what legal grounds? They don't have a lease in Oakland after this season and there is no legal statute that prevents a business from moving? I don't like Fisher anymore than anyone save for Pro Ball but Oakland has no legal standing for a lawsuit. That being said I don't see anyway the As are successful in Las Vegas under current plans. I feel like the math is like Musk saying the cost of a Tesla is below $30K with potential rebates and estimated gas savings. Wouldn't the more accurate money be in hard money, not soft money. $380M + $175M? That puts it at $555M with another $500M in potential equity investments.
If you include Waived Relocation fee that should also be included in the money for Oakland. $475M + $500M + the $500M not charged relocation fee. puts it at $1.475B then if he got another $500M in minority ownership he would have $1.975B in Oakland - sounds like Oakland is still a better option. 😉

Like Clorox (for example) don't have a city name associated with it. Or Coca Cola don't sport a city name on the product. I suppose like me, you're trying to raise up your own paper stash. At the same time, if I knew I could still make a nice profit and nobody gets hurt? Well what type of individual would STILL opt to hurt people just to make a little more? Like dude could still have sold the A's and made a nice profit, get me? He never had a poor day in his life. Never knew what is was to want. And to kick Oakland in the nuts just so he might make a little more? I don't go for that. C'mon, not all money is good money. He will be hated with a passion by the entire east Bay and for what? I would be curious as to what the tax ramifications would be with all of these gifts - all of it, but in particular GLPI/Ballys "giving" the A's the nine acres. Is it structured as a lease? Is it structured as a quitclaim? Is it structured as a $1 purchase? There are some really shady angles to that whole setup, and there are issues with legal and proper valuation and such things as gift taxes. Dollars to ding dongs the A's aren't paying taxes on it. I'd like to see an enterprising CPA or two and/or forensic accountants digging into this squat cobbler...
