After 6 years of development, Shady Knight is finally about to be released! I first covered this game back in 2018, and the full game doesn't disappoint. This is a playthrough of some of my favorite levels and some of the story beats. At the end of the video I've included a link to a playthrough of the original 2018 Shady Knight prototype. It's worth checking out to see how much the games changed. It's changed a LOT! :)
Thank you so much for playing my game! Your video is the first exclusive sneak peek of the full thing ♥ The ultimate kickmania starts in less than 20 hours! I can't believe it T_T P.S.: The outro!! XD
@@cptnsigh You're welcome! Really love the game. It's been a pleasure to see how it's evolved over the years and it's a ton of fun to play. The movement and the combat feel great. Especailly love the chain and the bow. Awesome work! :)
this game is all style, all substance. Movements look cool while also giving a tactical advantage against different kinds of opponents, it forces the player to use every skill they learn throughout the game
this game was not initially inspired by ultrakill but yeah maybe in progress dev took some notes. This games demo was released around when ultrakill pinos prime update came i believe
Looks pretty good! Fast, not long boring levels (as you can see from the video at the moment). Many ways to kill enemies - yes. Different enemies (with their own characteristics) - yes. Music... well, it doesn't stand out, but the main thing is that it's not distracting and, I would say, it focuses on the fight. Oh, it's nice to know that it's useful to listen here - you can even tell by the sound whether the enemy is dead. Heh, it's funny, almost all the enemies were either killed by weapons (or barrels) or thrown into the abyss. But the spikes on the walls were never used (almost, it seems like somewhere the enemy accidentally hit them)... In any case, it turned out spectacular!)))
I have no strong opinion over the game but parkouring knights is an insanely cool concept. I also advise against including the name Ultrakill in the title. That's a big bar to leap over.
As soon as I saw what kind of game this was, I immediately thought of Neon White. I can't play these kinds of games, but it's cool to watch others play them.
You can kick the barrels to send them flying (and release them from the stacks they're in). If you want to grab them you need to press the left mouse button.
@@Vakumba I'm not sure how you got that impression. I was pretty comfortable picking up and throwing barrels (and did it a lot throughout the video). I guess there's one point (03:17) where I forgot to kick the stack of barrels before trying to pick one up. That's more user error than the game's fault. Single barrels you can pick up no problem, but stacks of barrels you need to kick or whip to loosen first.
Personallly I'd say this is the most fun it's ever been. It's definitely no slower than it was before though. There are videos on my channel of all previous versions of the game (going all the way back to the 2018 prototype) if you'd like to compare them.

50% style
50% substance
50% gusto
Music is good, movement are smooth, seems like it's gonna be insanely satisfying to play maaaan, i love it
That looks pretty cool and original. Well I guess the kicking is like Lawbreakers. I mean Bulletstorm.
It's finally out?! I remember seeing this game a few years ago, looks super hype!
FINALLY A GAME THATS TAKES INSPIRATION FROM ULTRAKIKL THATS LITERALLY NOT A CARBON COPY OF ULTRAKILL
I think he started development before ultrakill though.

This game is actually Hella old been in development for quite awhile
[me clicking on a suggested video from an unfamiliar channel]
💀🗡 Knight, please do not let me die from boredom.

I was not prepared for that Eminem reference at the end lol
Neon white x Ultrakill goes hard
hakita would be proud
Another game I've been looking foward! Hell yeah!
We love you, Bobert!
Lorn's CIA stint: the game
I really hope this gets ported to consoles at some point
Ultrakill medieval edition
Played the demo few years ago and it finally released.
Is amazing seeing a game being inspired by ULTRAKILL, but able to make it's own identity too!

Cult of lamb i hear
Ye olde Scorn Sabot (Anger Foot)
Neon White with more physics and less anime.

something
Nothing
Thing
So it's kinda like Neon White?

kicking and picking up barrels on one button is a bad idea...
The kick is mapped to a different button (E to kick, LMB to pick up barrels)
@@AlphaBetaGamer then why do you hit the barrels when you approach them and then realize?
You can kick the barrels to send them flying (and release them from the stacks they're in). If you want to grab them you need to press the left mouse button.
@@AlphaBetaGamer in any case it doesn't sound very convenient waiting for such a dynamic game , it's clear that you felt uncomfortable taking them

This used to look much better - faster and more fun.

looks pointless, repetitive and derivative
