See how I approach the session using very simple tactics, feeding lots of maggot and trotting a lob work down a low and clear river to find a few specimen sized Perch.
The equipment & bait used is as follows -
Rod - Korum Glide 14ft
Reel - Abu Garcia 507 MkII Closed Face Reel
Line - Korum Glide Mono 6lb
Float - Korum 5g Avon Float (shot with a 4.00g olivette)
Hook - Size 8 Wipe Gape Pattern
Feed - Red Maggots (1.5 pints used)
Hookbaits - Lob Worms tipped with Red Maggot

Lovely bit of fishing that Rob nice to see the closed face reel in action brings back a few memories 😂😂😂
Hi I'm new to your channel and thoroughly enjoying your videos I've only watched 2 perch and one barbel I will definitely be watching all of your videos i love perch and do fish for them but I've never fished for barbel maybe one day I'm more a pike man so I'll definitely be watching your videos on pike .
Yes Rob I really enjoyed the video it was lovely and a lovely spot to wet a line. Well done that man and thank you.👍🎣
Thanks Mark - Very kind of you. Hope you’re catching a few yourself 👍🎣
Lovely Perch session there Rob. Very envious!
Thanks very much - Hopefully that 3lb+ Perch will show up before the season ends🤞🎣

Well done Rob great video as usual. Will you be doing any winter chub fishing
That’s what I call a good days fishing… Amazing
Thanks David 🙏🎣
Some beautiful perch there rob. Well done mate 👏
Thanks Neil 🙏🎣
brilliant perch session! just 1 of those would make my winter season 🤣interesting that you're fishing an avon float upstream, rather than traditional trotting style. nice ! 😊👍
Lovely Rob! 👍
Thanks Andrew 🙏🎣
Lovely stamp of sergeants there Rob, bet you enjoyed yourself on that session 🎣 👍🏼
Thanks Andy.. Indeed - Great way to spend a few hours on a cold winters day 🥶 🎣
Well done Rob, I love big Perch especially when local. Had a PB 2lb 12oz 2 weeks ago whilst lure fishing for Pike.
Mega fish 👍 tight lines Rob 👍🎣
Cheers Mo - Hope you’re having a few yourself 🎣👍
What a session well played😊😊
Thanks Mark - Enjoyed that one 👌🎣
Brilliant i caught bream with jimmy
Great fishing 👍👍 Is that a BAA water?
Wow, nice catch 😊
Thank you very much 👍🎣
I DREAM of that many nice perch in a session! Lovely stuff 👏🎣🐟
Thanks - I dream of being able to make videos to your standard also. 👌 Keep the great work up 👍🎣
Hi Rob great session! Any suggestions for a good stretch for perch on any Baa waters?
Thanks - I’ve had decent Perch off Apley, Knowle Sands and Monkmoor on the BAA ticket.. You’ll find them at all 3 at various times on the year in the right conditions 👍🎣
What are the reels like? Have you trotted for barbel on them? 🎣
Yes - But I tend to find the closed face better for the less powerful species. I’ve had a few Barbel on this setup - Ideally on open water stretches where there is plenty of room to play when away from any snags.
@@RobsAngling thanks mate. I am thinking of getting one for light fishing but seeing if they would seal the deal for the barbel, thanks pal appreciate your advice
The reel sounds like a coffee grinder 😂
@@user-nx1li8ne9v It is, it’s a Delongi. 😂
Some great perch you caught 👍 like the weight sling with the measurements in it smart were did you get it from ideal for perch fish
It was from the Korum Snapper range however that’s since been discontinued. Tackle shops do have other versions though if you go and ask locally 👍
Hi Rob, some nice Perch mate. Try Loading some of your stick floats using Drilled .22 Air Rifle pellets pushed up with the stem (with a Tight Fit) and painted over. I've done this with a lot of my "Home Made" floats as well. 🤔 Better than Lead /Solder wire.
Thanks - I’ll take a look 👍
