- After a miserable start to the session with lashings of rain and reporting Avian Flu in town the day then lightened. My first time out fishing a Lucky John Kubira and got some great results. Of course the jigfly made an appearance and delivered too. I got my Lucky John Kubira from RD tackle, Links below for their shop 👍

Flipping eck Steve there was enough content in this video to last us lucky viewers for weeks.
When you said that you were on the Severn i knew that we were in for a treat as you always do well on there but i did not think that you would do that well.
Don't show Sean & Tom ffs.
I was bracing myself for some Clarett and you did not disapiont, there was more blood than an episode of Casulty.
If you went to give blood, you could be the only person with a clause in thier contract of being banned from fishing for at least 2 weeks before your appiontment.
Top class video & possibly one of your best, all the best.

Turn up at bank with a plan to fish a certain lure and then the jigfly comes out every time without fail! We love a slow mo and some beautiful fishes. I feel for you with the scales, too many sets of gear to remember to put the single set of scales in with 🤨 You make me want to tie some flies with more flash. keep them vids coming, seems you got camera sorted 👍👍👍

Brilliant days fishing, must go and try there myself, I'm not far from there and never fished it lol. you should go & give the BAA Apley section ago next time you down this way, its not far from where you were. I had 2 nice doubles , (eye weight as Id left me scales in the car.....again 🤣) and lost a couple of good ones.

I'm a local pike fishermen up the brierley hill way unfortunately haven't been to my local spot for about 8 months on the front, unfortunately I had a drunk or tipsy guy claiming I can't fish there anymore handing me a letter claiming I need permission to fish the South side of the bridge from Hankat angling society.. they don't provide day tickets and can tell they are not very welcoming to pike fishermen..as they don't want us to become members either.
they way they have done it seems like they have completely privatised the area. As it walking distance from my house n I don't drive I'm stuck with what to do.... #HELP

Sadly yes, Hankat run the water from pear tree lane lock right through to the basin below brockmoor. They can allow allow whoever to fish or not to fish. The sad part is, as you know there are some great fish in that place. Unfortunately it’s a mixture of people who have got us a ban. However it’s just the waterfront I believe? They have allowed friends of friends to fish it though for pike so I hear. Due to this others are rocking up and it’s getting all messy. There are pike all through that canal system, it’s just finding them

Good luck, be careful as you can’t fish all the pools there like you used to. I think the CRT only allow it on one of them now

Great content Steve. That jig fly is like cheating mate what a cracking go to lure. We need to know where it comes from or if it’s weighted, a general review. It certainly works well in the margins in the river and being able to work it so close is a big bonus. Will it cast out into a lake or pit?
Cheers matey, the lad I brought this off made them for me as a one off, he doesn’t make to sell sadly. This jigfly is about 13 inch long and has a 10g weight. With so much material, when wet it casts retry well.
Great video good session interested to know what weight length rod is your preference for the jig flies just starting out with jig flies and had some success, lot easier on my old shoulders than chucking those big heavy lures

The rod I’ve used for many years now is an Abu Venerate 10-45g, 9ft. Glad you enjoyed the watch 👍

What stinger is best to use with the lucky john mate
The stinger came in the pack mate, what I would say though is if you are fishing fast water you’d need to add a weight to assist the dive.
