Love your no nonsense video's Rob, You fish the way that works for you and not what works for others. One word of advice, Rob, and this is far from a critisism Rob, but always have you rod rest with the higher side of the V facing the way you are fishing. My mate lost a hand made, Harrison blank due to having the lower part facing where he was fishing. On the Warwickshire Avon the bites tend to be savage and a bite took his rod clean away. First outing with it.
Love all your videos Rob especially the ones showing the approach, parking and distance you have to walk to the river. Great help to us 'less mobile' anglers who can't walk so far these days. As a 'newbie' to river fishing I've no idea how the river looks when I check out Welsh Bridge or Buildwas levels and if it would be fishable or not. It would be great if you could say what the level was showing in future videos so I can have an idea what to expect. Also at what levels would you decide to switch off the alarm, have a lie in and get a late breakfast and leave the rods in the garage 😄
Thanks Paul.. I’ll put some more context onto the level in future videos. It would be pretty rare I’d give a session a miss unless there is 3.5m+ of water on 👍
This stretch brings back some memories i used fish all this stretches early mid 90's with the old fella. There was another great spot further up towards the bridge known as Henrys hole. We had some great sessions back then. Great vlog. 🤙🏼
What a great session Rob. The river looked bang on with the slacks in front of the main flow. Well done on making the effort to move three times, it certainly paid off!
Great watch just love catching barbel especially since I got myself a dedicated barbel rod but have landed them on a 3oz feeder rod while after silvers and small chub they're just so much fun to catch
Hi Rob, love your videos. Great fish! 👍 Ive seen on another comment you say this is Atcham area. I wonder if u have a video that shows this area and how to get to it like you did with the coalport one. Im a returning newbie. I used to do quite a bit of River Severn fishing for Barbel when i was a kid (10-12) and used to go with a group of chaps (family friends) unfortunately i no longer have contact with them and all i remember is sometimes we used to go Atcham and sometimes over Monkmoor?? I hope i have got that right. It was back in the days when most places were day ticket. If you have a video that shows either of these places, parking, how to get to the spots that would be brilliant. Id love to come back and do a spot of fishing on the river again. Tight lines!
Hi, glad you like the videos. I’ll likely be returning back to that area in late summer/early autumn. I’ll put a video together on the stretch for later in the year for you. 👍🎣
Terrific stuff Rob! What more could you want from fishing?! Dead jealous. Wish it was closer. That looked further up than I've been so far. Above Bridgnorth perhaps? Thoroughly enjoyed it as always. Cheered me up after an all day blank on the Hants Avon.😅 🙂
Great video .. cracking fight that last one. Mate and myself did a 200 mile round trip to the Wye last week … was a lot messier than the Severn in your video .. 3m on and rising fast … had to fish near bank creases and managed 12 between us … though nothing as big as yours …
What test curve rods do you use in them sort of conditions? I am complete novice fishing in flood water condition, I have a pair of 2.2tc chimera 3’s but I am starting to think it’s over kill for medium sized Yorkshire rivers… thanks for
I use 1.75tc rods for all of my Severn angling. I typically don’t use anything over a 4oz lead or feeder as if I’d need to do so - I’d likely be in the wrong peg for the conditions out in front 👍🎣
Nice fish Rob, well done ill be going some time next week myself cant wait, went over montford bridge last week it was near enough in the fields. Was there much rubbish coming down Rob eg weed leaves etc?
Belting fish there rob 👍. We were down the Unicorn last Saturday, managed 3 from under the water station, only fished for 4 hours and it broke the banks at night, gutted. Pellet o's 14mm cheesy garlic did the damage 7.5lb being the best 🎣

Thanks Rob. Looking to get a base on the river next year. Keep on catching and posting your excellent videos 👍
Thanks Andrew - Will do 👍
Awesome stuff. Can’t wait to get out on the river now.
Good luck Tim - Hope you have a few 🤞🎣

Thanks Harry.. It’s always a good feeling to get a decent one when you’ve moved your gear down the bank multiple times 👍🎣
The meat certainly paid off Rob. Perhaps you should forget your bait bucket more often !! We met at the BS show back in June.
Lovely watch there Rob and a cracking result 👌
Cheers mate - Thanks very much 🙏🎣
Well done Rob good brace in floodwater, shame about the bucket but meat a good option👌
Cheers Gary.. It’s nailed on I’ll do that 1-2 times per season 🙈🤣
@RobsAngling lol yeah all been there.
Inspirational angling, thanks for sharing
Many thanks 🙏 👍🎣
Beautiful catches 👏🏻
Thank you very much! 🙏🎣
Fabulous Rob. Can’t have been easy trudging through the wet fields to find your preferred swim but what a result.
Thanks Barry - it was hard going under foot.. Good to get a decent result 👍🎣
Cracking fight on that last one. Well done mate
Thanks mate - Enjoyed that one 👌🎣
Great watch just love catching barbel especially since I got myself a dedicated barbel rod but have landed them on a 3oz feeder rod while after silvers and small chub they're just so much fun to catch
Thanks Albie.. They’re indeed a great species to fish for.. My favourites 🤩👍
Nice session, Rob, river dropping nicely after the floods and a well-deserved double 🎣🎣👍👍
Cheers Mick.. Hopefully a few decent ones will be about for us over the next few weeks 🤞👍🎣
Two nice healthy looking fish , well done.👍🏻
Thanks Dean 👍🎣

Thanks Martin - Much appreciated 👍🎣

Thoroughly enjoyed it as always. Cheered me up after an all day blank on the Hants Avon.😅 🙂
Thanks Andrew.. I was just south of Shrewsbury on that session near Atcham. Good luck on your next outing 🤞🎣

Thanks Rob.. The Severn run off quite quickly once it started dropping. Well done with your session 👌👍🎣
Well done boyo i think its on the bottom stretch at emstry used to fish there many years ago
Thanks Wayne.. Hopefully you’re still catching a few 🤞🎣

I’ve not been fishing in the flow so I’ve avoided the rubbish - There has been a fair bit I’ve noticed but it should have mostly passed now. 🤞👍
Nice fishing great double
Are you fishing the monkmoor stretch of Shrewsbury
Thanks - This session was south of Shrewsbury towards Atcham 👍🎣
Cheers rob thanks for that
I take it that is a day ticket stretch and can be booked online
