    Oh boy bro, ok the dreaded wrist roll is one of the most complicated things to learn in nunchucks! this should be it's own video. Those that try to learn this in the beginning either get it or just give up altogether! 92% never get it in the beginning and could rip a muscle in their shoulder.

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  7 років тому +1

      you may be right on this...I could have broken it down to more videos but i'm just preaching to the camera and i just go with the flow

    • @uryijam
      @uryijam 7 років тому

      yeah the wrist role is one of the most complicated moves in all of nunchuck! There are moves that are even more complicated than that! But the wrist roll in particular is one of the moves that makes lot of people give up or stop training. And even advanced trainers gets stumped on doing two handed wrist rolls. Keep up the good work!)

    • @ae_t
      @ae_t 7 років тому +2

      Rick Fs I agree that wrist rolls are very hard, but it all depends on the size of the chain links in between. If they don't fit your hand properly, they won't be as easy to spin. I had been using my nunchaku for a while until my teacher told me that the reason the roll on the wrist technique wasn't very easy for me was because I had too many links

    • @paytontalbott
      @paytontalbott 6 років тому +1

      if you rip a muscle in your shoulder doing this you probably just have some abnormally weak shoulders

    • @ΕύηΛαμπρέα
      @ΕύηΛαμπρέα 5 років тому

      It is not dreaded, it is quite easy. BUT the cord or chain length must be no.more than the width of your palm ( and preferrably a little less) I.built specific nunchaks with short cord and it is rather easy. Sensei should at least mention the importance of cord length AND building your own nunchaks to customize weight, length and cord. You can not easily learn advanced tricks with an off the self nunchuck, not because it is not good, but because it is a matter of luck wether it fits you or not. Build many chucks, small, big, long cord, short cord, and you will understand what I am talking about.

    I have pretty much perfected everything in part one. I can do the figure 8 all day, and even transition from figure 8 to the positions of part one proficiently. Unfortunately, I can't get that extra loop, that gives it that cool effect/extra flair. I don't know if it has something to do with my nunchucks chain being shorter than yours but it is frustrating the crap out of me.

    • @SenseiDavid

      I've only been practicing for three days now. I finally figured it out. Although I can do it for a short while in my right hand it may occasionally fly out my hands (Not good!). That just means I need to practice more. My left hand is another story. I can do it in my left hand, but it looks sloppy, and not as proficient as me spinning it with my right. Also, is it normal for certain parts of my hand to hurt and be a little bruised from practicing? I'll work on making the video.

    • @SenseiDavid

      Aditya, i believe it is a personal preference the weight of the nunchuks varies based on material. It also depends your use/ for demonstration, practice....generally speaking if you learn to use the weapon well you will be able to adapt between material and will discover your own preference. Hope this helps and thanks for commenting and watching my videos
