lol thanks for watching and commenting! anything you would want me to make videos of?
It's been more than two decades since I had my hands on these. Nice to learn it from you.

The figure 8 looks so amazing !
I was able to learn this in 30 minutes, your teaching is so simple. Where were you through all my training
glad it was helpful! thanks for watching and commenting
@@SenseiDavid No problem bro!
I love your tutorials I been practicing nonstop
thank you so much! I’m working on more videos for the channel if there is anything you would like to see please let me know
its a simple maneuver when you have accurate chain or rope length
ha damn that's pretty good.
I only practice for like 5 minutes a day for the last 10 years.
I'm going to try this too.
thanks for the link.
oss
the squeeking noise should be enough to take someone down. 😛😄
《King Kobra》 ur name should be enough to take someone down😉
It is a mere distraction in this exercise. The takedown is from being in the wrong channels of Zen and Karma.
Just bought nunchakus love your videos
Thank you for the support … I think I need to remake all of them …. What do you think
Remake? Why not. But this time add a companion probably your student. Can't wait for your next videos.
Great teacher . Thank you so much
thanks for watching and commenting
I was defeated because i didnt know it. So definitely i will train to learn it day by day. I promised
sounds good! keep training
Its may 29 2022 did u learn it?
Oh boy bro, ok the dreaded wrist roll is one of the most complicated things to learn in nunchucks! this should be it's own video. Those that try to learn this in the beginning either get it or just give up altogether! 92% never get it in the beginning and could rip a muscle in their shoulder.
you may be right on this...I could have broken it down to more videos but i'm just preaching to the camera and i just go with the flow
yeah the wrist role is one of the most complicated moves in all of nunchuck! There are moves that are even more complicated than that! But the wrist roll in particular is one of the moves that makes lot of people give up or stop training. And even advanced trainers gets stumped on doing two handed wrist rolls. Keep up the good work!)
Rick Fs I agree that wrist rolls are very hard, but it all depends on the size of the chain links in between. If they don't fit your hand properly, they won't be as easy to spin. I had been using my nunchaku for a while until my teacher told me that the reason the roll on the wrist technique wasn't very easy for me was because I had too many links
if you rip a muscle in your shoulder doing this you probably just have some abnormally weak shoulders
It is not dreaded, it is quite easy. BUT the cord or chain length must be no.more than the width of your palm ( and preferrably a little less) I.built specific nunchaks with short cord and it is rather easy. Sensei should at least mention the importance of cord length AND building your own nunchaks to customize weight, length and cord. You can not easily learn advanced tricks with an off the self nunchuck, not because it is not good, but because it is a matter of luck wether it fits you or not. Build many chucks, small, big, long cord, short cord, and you will understand what I am talking about.
Thank you so much for this video it's realy helping me in the training
Your lessons are so helpful sensei, you got a new subscriber

@@SenseiDavid Ur welcome sensei, it is really helpful, I'm not young anymore, now I can swing my nunchaks better. Someday, I will upload the progress of mine. Please visit my channel. Your lesson does work for me. Thanks 👍👍👍👍Hooshhh
Nice nunchucks tutorial
thank you
Can the "butterfly transition" deal damages ??
honestly if you want to use the nunchucks for damage know of the transitions are for that. best way to cause damage is use it like a bat... everything else is just flashy and fun to learn
@@SenseiDavid so the transition is a strike?
What if we need to block a knife strike
Which nanchaku is best wood or steel
that depends on what you prefer or your use for them
So the extra turn of the wrist is just another loop?
correct
Great video!!! Keep up the good work SenseiDavid. You just got a new subscriber.
+Stephen Sircar thanks for stopping by and commenting. i'm working on a few more basic videos, hopefully i can get them up next next week. if there is anything your looking for specifically or have a question just let me know
SenseiDavid thank u sooooo much im moving so when we paused taekwondo for July I would've been gone so for my last day I got nunchucks and my sensai showed me a few things and told me to look up some begginers videos and this REALLY helped 😊
Glad it was helpful, its unscripted and i treat it as if i had a student in front of me, Im working now on single videos for specific drills...it is very easy to get carried away when the camera is on.
Nice i try this
This is the downwards handrotation,an freestyle technique.
Magaling na tutorial
Thanks this is really helping me :D
your welcome glad it was helpful don’t forget to subscribe
thanks bro
your welcome glad it was helpful
I'm having difficulty in doing the transition on my left side I don't know why its easier for my to do the transition on my right side while on my left side my wrist is having difficulty in doing the transition because I'm scared it might fail and hit me somewhere on my body
one side will always feel easier... just needs more practice
Very good
thanks
Still on part one so not ready for this but it looks good.
Thanks for the support....just take your time
Part 2 is very nice sir.V.V.V.S.BINDESH REDDY
So greatt!!! Can i do this with a non rotating nonchuck?
you can but the ball bearing nunchucks makes it much easier. The length of the rope or chain can also be a factor BUT if you can get at it without the ball bearing ones....you will be amazing once you get a pair! Good luck and keep training
Thank you very much for this tutorial! I can now do this figure 8 with transition! I will try to practice the next video. And yes, you were right about the flashy part. It looks hard at first but it's actually easy once you get the feel of it. Thanks sensei!
Oss, thanks for watching, I'm glad it was useful. and once you have the basic concepts down...learning other weapons like bo staff, kama, tonfo ect.. becomes easier.
Thanks!
thank you for watching
sensie which nunchuk will u suggest wooden or steel in damage
I have pretty much perfected everything in part one. I can do the figure 8 all day, and even transition from figure 8 to the positions of part one proficiently. Unfortunately, I can't get that extra loop, that gives it that cool effect/extra flair. I don't know if it has something to do with my nunchucks chain being shorter than yours but it is frustrating the crap out of me.
+Juan Kuilan keep up the good work now as far as the extra roll if you could video yourself and show me it would be easier to try to analyze what your doing.
I've only been practicing for three days now. I finally figured it out. Although I can do it for a short while in my right hand it may occasionally fly out my hands (Not good!). That just means I need to practice more. My left hand is another story. I can do it in my left hand, but it looks sloppy, and not as proficient as me spinning it with my right. Also, is it normal for certain parts of my hand to hurt and be a little bruised from practicing? I'll work on making the video.
yes it is actualy...dont forget your hands have many small muscles, tendons & ligaments. So just like any other workout, you can get sore.
I can't import nunchuk in my country , so I tarted building my own using hard broom stick . my question is about the lenght (cm) of the linking chain
Hi, Thanks for watching and I'm working on 2 videos on how to make your own nunchucks. So as far as length 12inch is a standard size when you buy. I would not go shorter then 8 inches or longer then 14"
@@SenseiDavid thank you Sensei for taking time to answer me , I'm looking forward to watch these videos when you upload them.
To master the butterfly....try setting playback speed to the lowest...welcome
great idea! I actually want to remake some of these video... with my new acquired editing skills!!
To me this one is hard when I try to do the butterfly the nunchucks fly out of my hands
just a matter of practice or try positioning your hand closer to the chain and see if that helps
Thank you it did
Can someone help me with the transition when your hold the nunchuck upsidedown i keep grabbing the chain
how many links are in the chain? try holding a little higher and see if it makes a difference
I did get how go do the spin with the pherate
can you be more specific
Some tips for the transition
i’ll add it to the list! and thanks for commenting
1:17 Front spin
1:23 Reverse/back spin
very cool
+Mike B glad you enjoyed it and thanks for commenting! more videos on the way just remember to subscribe!
Is nunchuck really a powerful tool in reality... I guess whenever it will hit a target it will be deflected and would be difficult to control.. m I right?
it’s not the most practical weapon ..
Useful video:)
Are you a 5th degree black belt?
Would it make a difference? I’ve been in martial arts for 32 years… different disciplines and always learning. learn to forget about ranks and focus on the experiences and skills you learn in your personal journey
nice using to nonchack
+RAJU NARRA thanks for checking out my video
Sir you could the training moves once in slow motion.
Hi Ahmad i could try to do another video with slow motion not a bad idea
@@SenseiDavid thanks a lot for your response I learned the two lessons of yours but there is no more step by step.
there are several more videos.... check the playlist on nunchucks
Can u put this in slow motion
Terrio, thanks for watching and great suggestion. i’ll try to do that with future videos
This looks easy, I'll be back 😅
once you get the hang of it they get easy and you ca do allot
I am a Kung Fu practitioner, but it's useful to learn Nunchaku when fighting
thanks for commenting, yes it’s always good to learn new things!
I cannot get the first one and idk why
don’t give up just keep at it
@@SenseiDavid thanks man I kept going now I got it and I’m on to part 3
sensaiDavid how can I improve that reverse figure eight
J J just keep it at it...it just repeat repeat repeat that the weapon becomes an extension of your body. many times we dont like to accept the process but just pick them up daily and play with the nunchucks....before you know it...you dont even think about what your doing and its 2nd nature.
🔥💯🔥
thanks jack!
2:03 Does vine even exist anymore???
lol no, but when i created this video it did
Can you make this video again
+Star shine sure how come?
I'm getting much better
+Kingcake glad to hear it! keep training!
1:28 but howww
its so hard to understand for me lol but thanks :P
+Kian .-. thanks for watching and commenting, how come it's hard? is it language? or my explanation?
Instructions Unclear: Fork in toaster.
what’s unclear?
@@SenseiDavid the part where you put the knife in the oven. Horizontal or vertical?
@@sayer445 cute...anything of value to comment :p
@@SenseiDavid yes. Very good vid and helped a lot. Sorry if I came off as rude. I try to be a joker.
@@sayer445 thats fine...but at least make sure we understand the joke so your not the only one laughing :P
Please make the video slow when you see tricks.
thank you for watching and commenting is there a specific part of the video you would want me to redo?
HOSE SENSAI DAVID

The squeak is enough to kill someone
lol yes that’s one of the secret powers!!
u need to explain more because this makes no sense
how am i supposed to understand what u doing if u not saying like u say what to do then u do it with no explainion with forma and things like this
have you watched the first video? before trying this one?

it hits my face
it happens, just keep practicing! also try to use the foam one to start it doesn’t hurt when you hit your self. Thanks for watching and commenting
he said vine
LOL, thats what happens when you shoot unscripted videos.... I use to have a strong vine channel
Little bit slower...wht an instructor
thanks for commenting.. i plan on uploading new versions of these videos!
I really stink at nunchaku. I have been doing this all wrong, man.
+PG ProGamer just takes practice ... keep at it

sensie which nunchuk will u suggest wooden or steel in damage
Steel would do more damage BUT only if its solid steel
sensie which nunchuk will u suggest wooden or steel in damage
Aditya, i believe it is a personal preference the weight of the nunchuks varies based on material. It also depends your use/ for demonstration, practice....generally speaking if you learn to use the weapon well you will be able to adapt between material and will discover your own preference. Hope this helps and thanks for commenting and watching my videos
