This is my exact problem! So glad to see this! I just had the solenoid valve replaced by local mini repair guy for $360 (he said that was best place to start) and the problem happened again 5 mins after leaving his shop. So now I know
You show allot of patience while filming you work, I would have lost mine several times, lol. I just bought a 2007 mini s not running, and am in the process of replacing the head gasket and timing chain, your videos are great and very helpful. Thanks
Would the throttle keep the car from starting? I was told by the dealer that my throttle actuator was making a noise and eventually it would get stuck and the car would not go anywhere. Fast forward to 4 months later I had the same half engine limp home light on. Now it will not start.
have you tried CRC valve and turbo cleaner? just got a can of the stuff and need how to get to the throttle body with ut taking the car apart (2007 cooper s)
Hi, great video. I cannot figure out how to loose the manifold after taking out the 5 nuts on top. I try to shake it loose, but seem like something is still holding it tight. Your video at around 20:42 seem to skip that detail. Is there any other bolt that is holding it to the engine?
Charles Hua, there is a bolt by the throttle body that attaches to a bracket on the engine. Mine wasn't attached, so i didn't notice until i removed it. I didn't reattach it when i put it back in.
Miguel, it's not easy, but you can try get under the car and there is big enough of opening where you can reach to the back of the throttle body and get the nut loose.
Hi sir i have the very same issue with mine but with diferent codes p2103 and p1637 throtle valve position, control deviation and throtle actuator motor circuit high but the very same simptoms any advice thank you in advance.
Thanks for posting these videos, extremely helpful. Others have mentioned you don't need to remove the intake manifold in order to take out the throttle body. I know you're doing it to make it easier, but how difficult is it to get the throttle body out without removing the intake manifold, intake air housing, etc? I'd rather not have to rip all that stuff out if possible. Appreciate it!
Depends on where you go.....it would have to be a Mini dealer or a mechanic that works on German cars, since it's made by BMW. I would guess around $1000.
I gotine of of eBay, but you can probably get one on Amazon as well. I got the Torque Pro app. it's a pay app, but the best $5 I spent. and yes it works on Android
I have 2003 Mini Cooper auto, sometimes when I m in complete stops ,the car starts to shake , my rpm doesn't go up or down , and if I put the gear to neutral it goes away , any idea what it causing this? Many thanks
I turned off the traction on my mini cooper s 2013. So i wanted to burn out and was being aggressive on my rpm. It lost a little power and a slight delay sometimes in gear shift. What might be wrong. Its automatic.
hey I have 2006 mini cooper s anytime eml light comes on, car losses power and I've used all kinds of code computer but my car doesn't communicate with none. can you help me out ??
Snr Kofi I went on eBay and bought the BMW DIS v57 package from pss.autosoft. It is an win xp virtual machine of the actual BMW DIS program used at the dealership. I made a video about using it.
hi sir..i have a problwm with my mini cooper s 2012. the computer shows to me " low pressure". i changed the high pressure pump and there is no change with the problem. do u think its because of the carbon? maybe i have to clean it?
GANAIEM MOHAMMAD. I'm not sure about that problem. So far I haven't had that problem. You can check the pressure through the Torque Pro app with a Bluetooth OBD 2 adapter. On a mini, you can have it display fuel pressure. You have to set up a custom gauge, but it will read it.

Ive only ever taken the intake/throttle body off as a unit.
Do you have a link to the part I need a throttle body. Not happy buying China parts thanks
I did this video so long ago, the link is probably dead. I got mine off of eBay. Just make sure it says genuine BMW/ Mini part.
