Video is great and helpful, but one suggestion is that you could consider not to put a background music or make it not as loud, else it could be hard to hear you especially when going back and forth the timeline trying to follow. Cheers :-)
From my personal experience, one problem I see is that the main line has to be tight for the tool to work easier. Sitting at home on a bench that is not an issue. Trying to tie a knot in middle of a river, that is a different story.
That's why you should use a leader and have some in your pocket, or use quick snap swivels. Anyway tying a hook in the middle of a river is not a big deal, just put the line under your arm and there you have a tight mainline, anyway i recommend leaders so you won't have such a scenario in the first place, preparation is the key here.
Hello Pepe. You can use hooks with or without an eye with this tool and it works great for both. In this video I've used one without an eye as a demonstration.
I have a love hate relationship with this tool. It does a great job making sell knots but it doesn't hold the hooks well. I have 4 different versions. the one you show , an one piece metal one, and 2 different plastic ones. The biggest flaw imop is the fact that some hooks will move when being rotated. it doesn't hold offset hooks fully parallel due to the hook design. All in all I do use them extremely often. I just think they would have been better off using a duel adjustment system with a more pointed top to better accommodate different hook styles and sizes while holding more securely.
I fully agree with you. The quality of the tool could be better, but also the price would be higher. I'd buy one which is of a better quality, but overall, it's a good tool for such a small price
The method shown in this video works well for hooks with and without an eye. You can always experiment with it and find other ways to tie hooks with it...
I tried to tie the tiny hook not on the shank or using looping the hook (your other vid) . Is there a way to tie using this tool. In the past, I used uni ... without this tool. Of course, there is another tool which did this well.
@@fishmadpro7210 Due to the left thumb injury, i sought this technique. In the past this was what i did: The shank was hidden by the jaws and only the eye was exposed. The wrapping was on the line and end tag remained the same. Maybe this technique is weak in tying good knot.
I've tried to use this gadget for an hour and have had no success. I've watched another video and I just can't get it to work. When I have finished my rotations, I pass the tag end around the larger hook, depressed the hooks and tried to pull the line. However, when I tried to pull the line, the tag line was trapped beneath the large hook. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's just not working. Money wasted.
I saw another video where someone made a hook tying device from a piece of bamboo. I think I'll do that and spend the money I'd save by not buying this on something more important. After all, in this day and age, being frugal is more important than buying gadgets.
Thank you for your honest opinion. I fully agree with you. If you can make one yourself and it will be effective, why not? You can actually make one not only from bamboo, but even toothpicks (I'll make a video on it in the future).
@@fishmadpro7210 I'm an inventor. I like the idea/product (and your answer to mr. Solus) but I will say, that I think, you can improve it a bit, and make easier/faster to use. That said to encorage you, and have succes. I don't know, if there are other things, that you have learned from/copied, but as long as it's not a stolen patented idea, I don't care - it seems to be pretty smart and well functioning. It's an excellent tool that I've used for years. Unfortunately your video isn't very easy to see what's happening, there are much better ones around illustrating the tools use.
Been using this for spade ends for 40 years. Best tool for spade ends, quick and effective especially on the bank and its pssing down with rain
You have a very clear voice
Was actually very helpful thankyou 😊

Your right I got the plastic one,two small hook and big hook.hook don't hold hook very good.i stick to ally hook tier.
Yes, the jaws of a plastic one don't hold hooks tight...
Thank You.

Or make a few before you go.
I have nerve damage in my hands. This might be useful to me. I didn’t see you thread the line thru the eye. Did I miss something?

Just curious - what is the reason for not running the main line through the hook eye first? Something to do with the angle?

Hey. I'm not quite sure if it will work well for the tiny hooks...I'd use improved clinch knot as it is pretty easy to do and holds well...

How many different knots can you make on this item
Never thought about the number, but I am sure it's more than one...
Where did you buy that beautiful hook tier
Please check the link within the description of the video.
Temu aplikacija.
What kind of knot does it tie?
Honestly, I have no idea how it's called...
Super
Thank you for your support👍
I want one
It is a good gadget👌
Your video can not see how the string go

What about eyed hooks
You can also use it for eyed hooks, but I use improved clinch knot for those which is done easy and fast...
Great job. Better than some of the top brands tutorials. ❤

Keep on trying, but don't rush, and you'll succeed....
Tied wrong" the line should be round the front of the hook not coming off the back 😨
Need to be close n more clear and don’t play the music
He fiddles far too much. That's what distracts you!
Too complicated. Easier without a tool.

Thanks for your input Scrooge, mind you don't catch a cold whilst under that wet blanket!

If actually need one of theseI feel bad for you.
Thx for the feedback👍
In French please ! Thanks
Sorry, I don't speak French, but will think about creating new content in other 4 languages that I speak👌

Really useful comment 😂
Im not gonna lie, if you can't master an improved clinch knot, you shouldn't be fishing
I know how to tie these knots, but because of neuropathy and poor eyesight, I need some extra help. This tool will keep me on the streams.
I'm not gonna lie, if you can't say anything smarter than that, you shouldn't be commenting on anything anywhere ever
Agreed, you can tie it quicker without this unnecessary BS.
