I am a landscape professional of 34 years. I have run all types of blowers, weedeaters, trimmers, edgers, and chainsaws. My personal opinion and what I run everyday is Husqvarna. I own a couple Husqvarna 580bts and wouldn't trade them for nothing. Stihl spends more time in the shop with valve and carburetor issues than in the field. They also get harder to start as they age. I run strictly synthetic fuel in my 2 cycle equipment and they have never seen the shop.
I have many Stihl blowers and a Husky BT350. You are correct about the Stihls going in the shop often. The BT350 has never been in the shop since 2012! When they stole my BR800, I decided to replace it with the BT580 in hopes it too will never go in the shop :)
The side start 800 Magnum is more than just the easy start pull. It has a far better harness with a waist belt, an improved strap sled, and an adjustable tube with locking collar. I don't believe there's a weight penalty ......
@@brenthill5596 Echo is a good product period. The 9010 has more power, but the weight is not for me. The sthil 800x is lighter and has plenty of power for me.
Did you notice a difference in loudness? I have the 580 too, and it’s advertised at 100 decibels. Running it all day even with ear protection is still very loud. The new Stihl is supposed 78 decibels. That’s a big difference in sound. Let us know your experience. Thanks!
Honestly, I just now thought about it now that you asked but I do think that the Stihl is quieter. It doesn't seem to be too bad wearing ear protection.
I use double protection for any power equipment, especially when running the 580 - earplugs and over ear. It seems like overkill but it’s really much more pleasant. I actually find it enjoyable as you can isolate yourself even more and get lost in the work. Got the idea from shooting guns indoors and finding my ears were ringing. Using two layers of protection solves all issues.
Ive been at this full time since 2003 and have ran all the bigger Echo's Sthil's and now looking at these Husquvarna's. Echo's were ok for a few years then just seemed they had fuel delivery issues no matter what we did and our local dealer didn't help us out at all. We switched to Sthil and have 2- BR600's, a 700 and a 800 and the 800 get used every day but every year it seems it needs to go to the dealer to have the "valves adjusted", It's very hard to pull and lacks power until I take it to our dealer but every time I take it there it's a 200 bill. Only problem with the Husq. for me is the place that sells them just became a dealer and not very organized and no shop, basically a place that sells mulch, stone etc. and now has a handful of home owner mowers, trimmers etc. I just want something too last more than a couple years without issues.
@@577buttfan I have the "forbidden" tool kit with all the weird ends on them and usually able to adjust anything. My Echo climbing saws have a tamper proof plugs but easily removable, I did that and tweaked them and they run great. I just tried to adjust my Sthil BR800 and tweaked the high side but low side didn't do anything and still stalls out while idling.
Adjust the valves your self. We have 6 br 800 I do it every year. I can adjust the valves .change the spark plug and air and fuel filter on all of them in a little over an hour. Get your self a 4 thousands feeler gauge watch a couple UA-cam videos . Game on bro
I love the husky platform. Been running my 570 for three or four yrs now. Got same mph speed as the 800 stihl. But about 200 or so less cfm. I’m done with the stihl 4mix stuff EXCEPT maybe the 800c. I love love that 800. Had one a week before it got stolen. The side start is worth it to me. But really the telescopic tube is the ticket blowing out beds. I’m finishing the year out with my 570. I’m waiting to see what husqvarna/redmax does before getting another stihl 800 though. Supposedly husky has 590 (9500 redmax) coming out next year. So I’ll wait and see. Drive Stihl at work and Husqvarna at home . Prefer the 580 BTS it sits better on the back so after a day it feels much better with the Husqvarna. Otherwise, they are equivalent in performance . . Stihl is a 4 stroke which is not an advantage as it is more complicated and more expensive to repair
The stihl units do look better so do the stihl handhelds but the Huskies outperform em throughout the whole range! Also the stihl units are a twat to work on
