I have a smoke gray Revolt XL on the way, smoothest drawing bow I've ever drawn at 31.5" DL. At your DL I think you will love it. With a whisker biscuit rest the speed was within 3 fps of my Reign 7 on comfort mode. It's worlds better than past Bowtechs in performance mode as well, really impressed with the RXL overall. Apparently there was some type of mod screw up on the SR350 with the early bows shipped. The dl doesn't fit me but I shot one at my dealer to try it out and it was screaming so they received the correct mods. I didn't shoot it through a chrono, didn't have to.
I bet that you can’t wait to get your hands on a Revolt XL to review. That bow seems more your cup of tea ☕️. Solid review as usual, manufacturers are still using speed as the ultimate measure and selling put for some if not all their bows. Here’s our “speed” offering and over here is our other offerings.
I recently bought one. My im not particularly interested in just speed. Ive got an older 2015-16 bear I've shot for years. I have upgraded it to the moon. Probably got close to $1200 just in the extras. Learned a lot about tuning and feeling out how to make the bow shoot how i would like. Personally I think the ATA being more on this bow will help me more than the speed. Cant keep thowing the best at what is a 450 bear bow. However i did pick the SR350 up for $560 so maybe that would change peoples mind on it for that price. For me it will probably be a welcome upgrade. Ill always like my Bear bow. It definitely started my interest into the rabbit hole of tuning and arrow making. Its an expensive hobby that ive come to love, however for me it takes a lot of time to get all the nice things I've got on my bear. Now they will go on the bowtech. It might be a 2 year old bowtech now but new old stock is fine by me. Saves a lot of money. Enough to buy my kid his new bow and thats just as fun.
Awesome real review, that bow seems to be coming in way slow this year for some reason, you going to do a speed test on the Athens? Would be cool to see, thanks Nate!
how far away was the chrony? I've always wondered if there is a standard distance from the bow for IBO tests. Many reviews are at different distances from the chrono. You don't look to be as close as others.
I've seen multiple reviews on this bow. They are all about the same. Great draw cycle but no where near IBO speeds. And I predict that will be a big problem for Bowtech. It just about sunk Obsession when they consistently lied about the performance of their bows. I own a Bowtech and I have really enjoyed it. But you just can't lie to your customers.
If your not feeling the vibe of that bow I’m not feeling the vibe either thanks for the awesome review! Looking forward to seeing a review on the revolt.
I don't see why they wouldn't have peak performance for your draw length. You're not going to be coming close to IBO performance with any bow with a 27.5" draw length though. But I think this or the XL would be excellent bows for any shooter, but great all around bows for someone with your shorter draw.
I haven't tested one, but it definitely looks like a very solid mid-priced platform. Heck, Hoyt sold that cam system style as a flagship for over 20 years!
I love my Elite but that Athens 35 is AWESOME!!! That. Bowtech Revol XL is nice looking as far as Asthetics but that Athens with all the custom colors is something!!!
Looks like the only issue I see is that it’s not a Mathew’s it’s like the dollar store version of Mathews so yeah It’s like having the best bow and then someone brings in that bow, it’s like velvetta cheese and what you have there is government cheese
1 thing i will say and yes I do have an sr350 ordered is most of these bows factory are not tuned. Think about it. They have 1000s of bows to manufacture every year they don't have time to tune every single one to get top speeds. I have a solution that went under the guillotine and worked over and got right at ibo speeds with it with a good tune with it. Regardless what they shoot it'll still kill deer
Hey Nate. I really appreciate how you run your channel. I just got into archery this May and with many helpful tips I've picked up from your content, I dropped my first Blacktail doe early this month (Washington late archery season). I'm shooting a PSE Stinger Max right now, but I've decided that if I'm going to build a more FOC driven setup for black bear season '22 I should probably bump up to a flagship level, dual cam bow. I like the diy tuning ability you can get with the Solution, but when I fired the EVO EVL at my local shop, it was so much sleeker and the draw cycle just felt like it was made for a guy like me. Any chance you could offer some insight to help make the decision easier?
Unfortunately, PSE dealers are few and far between in my part of the state. Not big sellers. However, I have yet to hear any negative feedback on the EVL series in terms of draw. PSE does have a great cam system there with the Evolve series cam and it's very pleasant from what I've seen the past few years.
With my 31" draw, 60# bows allow me to get away with normal spine arrows like 340-300. 300 mostly. Plus, those arrow builds are super nice to hunt with, tune, and easy to transition into target archery as well. Saves my shoulder too!
Do you know if this bow has the updated mods…..bowtech is saying that the demo/dealer bows were shipped with the wrong mods and that every bow leaving the factory with now have the new updated mods
Shot bow on speed setting last weds.. It's not that great. It's basically like my Solution but a inch longer and not as parallel limbs as the solution. Ppl saying draw is so smooth and this and that. I can't see how it's any better then the Solution. We stacked both bows on top of each other looked at them and Man of you own a solution why would you want this. And I'm huge BT 💙. And yes I have a sr6 to. Now I Love that bow!
The new Bowtechs have been pretty disappointing this year as far as speed and weight. Supposedly they are shipping out new mods to fix that, but I'm sure the draw will be more brutal. Still rocking my SR6, 60 pounds in Performance, but Athens has caught my eye. How would you compare grip feel between the Athens and Bowtech? I really like the skinny flat back on the SR6.
They are really pushing the limits to see what will accept from a manufacture. Honestly where’s the line of BS? Is it when they say 500IBO and it only shoot 300fps? I’m not saying it’s only Bowtech but I was really hoping to see amazing numbers here. I have the SR6 and I’ll stick with it. Wish I still had my RPM360
I’m calling BS on wrong modules. Just think about the the days before social media and being able to call them out. Nothing would change! I’d be pissed with this boat anchor and missing my old Tributes and Allegiance.
My thoughts exactly. Some companies don't get that social media is how you sell bows. Companies like Mathews and Hoyt have figured it out and know they'd get blasted if they did something like that. I think BT is doing damage control.
I've watched a lot of reviews on this bow and they really call out the integrity of the company. I do agree it's getting out of hand with many companies. Mike's Archery came up super slow too and said they called Bowtech. They were going to charge some things on the cam. Podium archer is another. I was waiting on Bowtech because I have a bad shoulder and was hoping for little longer SS solution. I'll be getting last year's super smooth I guess. Anyway keep up the great video's and congrats on your Deer this year. That Athens bow looks nice.
Holy shit that is slow!!! By the way it’s the SR350 because it’s IBO is 350 IBO. There is no IBO for the comfort setting. Lol. 312 for a 335 IBO bow is slow and that’s horrible for a 350 IBO.
@@averagejackarchery if I had a long draw length and didn’t care about speed I would still have that bow as an option. Their tuning tech is the best. I feel that speed might turn a few people away though, it did to me.
@@Gibbs-Bijan-moon Which...is a load of whooey. If you tested it to 350, then they shouldn't be different mods. Lol. They blew their numbers out of proportion and their bluff has been called. Shame too because it's a nice bow overalls

Why don't you put it to 30 inch on performance and then measure . You know you need to compare apples to apples. How said that comfort is 340? It makes no sense to measure it on comfort when the speed rating is on performance. Also when you have 31 inch draw why shoot the bow at 29? Let's compare apples to apples and then make statements about bow speed and ibo no numbers. I have Realm SS and the difference between comfort and performance is big. Also there is a difference when the bow is tuned or simply the modules are rotated to the required draw length especially when shooting light arrows that could be a bit under spined the bow end up flexing the arrow instead of accelerating it fwd. I am sure you know this better than me.
People keep saying that "BowTech released it with the wrong cams" and I don't understand how that's possible. They've built the bow, tested the bow, got the speeds of the bow, but then afterwards build a totally new cam/mod and the screw up in creating and delivering the "right" bow? Something smells like fish if you ask me. Lol.
@@averagejackarchery people are saying that because bowtech has acknowledged the bow is severely under IBO which is unusual for bowtech. An employee of theirs has made a statement in the bowtech group I'm in on social media. I don't like it at all. It seems really off to me as well. I will be keeping my Solution for another year.
