Hey Rachel, a doctor here! You're right, biotin can interfere with some lab tests. As a general rule, make sure to discontinue taking biotin supplements 3-7 days before your lab tests to be on the safe side. Also, the superhero cape thing dress would look REALLY CUTE if you tie it in a bow, give it a try! 🥰
I had no idea that biotin could interfere. I’ve told all my doctors and not one of them have told me to stop taking before blood tests. I’m a stage 4 breast cancer patient. You would think I would need to know this information

Biotin most commonly interferes with thyroid testing, so definitely disclose if you are on biotin and are getting thyroid testing done. Also, biotin is water soluble so getting more than 100% of the daily recommended intake is going to end up in your urine. BTW, I'm a family medicine physician so you can consider a doctor consulted :)

It’s recommended that the biotin supplement is held for at least two days prior to the labs being drawn.

Holo taco is one of my favorites!! I used to be super huge into doing my nails, even had my own store selling supplies. Halo Taco and Enchanted polish were both indie brands then and I love them both!!
So badly want a tall girl to review the florence by mills dresses & clothing! I know it's geared a little for teen/young 20's, but there's some cute stuff and I need to know how short it is 😅
The red dress looked great with one strap forward and one back! You fit it really well❤️ What you might need - and hear me out- is a bra that lifts and separates. So many bras give "uniboob" but a proper fitting bra changes a whole look, especially when we cant put our finger on whats off about an outfit

Also, I liked the red dress with the “cape.” You can always tie it in a bow if you don’t like it hanging, but I like it without tying in a bow.

A bunch of doctors/ nutritionist have come out saying the Lemme gummies don’t even have enough beneficial ingredients to actually do anything. They’re essentially enriched fruit snacks

Long-legged girly here! I detest high-waisted trousers. Always have. It messes with my proportions so badly, I look like I have no torso. And what the heck do they do to women’s bums?!? In all the years they’ve been popular, I’ve yet to see a bottom that doesn’t look flat and higher than wide. No matter how great a bum is, put it in high-waisted jeans and it looses all its perkiness. I’m so glad that low-rise/mid-rise is coming back into fashion.

I would love more then life to try halo taco nail polish. I went to the website and put a little bundle of things I wanted to try. Then because they put it on the website the price in Canadian and it was going to cost me $131 dollars then I was like nope because I could by so many nail polish’s here in Canada for that price. I really feel like most of these celebrity brands are just money grabs!! It’s wild to me bc they’re all millionaires, why do they need more money??
In some cases it is a genuine passion of theirs and makes sense.
On the matters of why do ‘millionaires’ need to get more money is because a million dollars doesn’t buy you much in this world.
They need to support their extravagant lifestyles. It’s not like their monthly expenses are the same as us regular people. They buy the most expensive things possible in every category of their life. They can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single day. They have to support their exorbitant spending habits somehow, and not all of them are smart with their money. Spending as much money as possible is a status symbol for them as a celebrity, and IMO they get addicted to it and continue to crave a more and more expensive lifestyle because it brings them more attention and higher status. If they lived like us regular people, they would be set for life with their wealth, but that’s not the case. There is no such thing as having enough/too much money to them.
Rachel, you are not alone. Low rise girl here! Halo Taco has the best white nail polish out there, but the clear is like a gel manicure in a shop. Love!

We needed new exterior door knobs because ours sometimes get stuck “cockeyed” and then can’t be opened from the outside. As I snooped, your Simple Modern cup (40 oz) came up as a deal. Not all the colors, but the pink one was too good a deal at $20 and change. I’m using it right now. 👍🏼 I’m sure it will keep me well hydrated at Irish Fair next month.

I am also a person who doesn't do well with certain vitamins and supplements. I find that zinc specifically can make me feel icky and kind of queasy-ish. I just wanted to throw it out there since I heard you say they contain zinc in the ingredients. I also feel off when I take too many vitamins all at once, so it could also just be the combo. 🤔 Love your reviews on everything. You are always so thorough, and I know I can trust your opinions! ❤
So gummies really aren't reliable for supplementation because the amounts of the ingredients may not be accurate. They become less potent quicker than regular pills so manufacturers will add more of each ingredient. Also, things like heat can change the amounts. You were also right about biotin not really helping much unless you have a deficiency. That really goes for a lot of different vitamins and minerals. In some cases taking more can actually be helpful, depending on what health conditions you may have, but I completely agree that it's primarily a marketing thing. (I'm not a medical professional, I just have 14 years of chronic illness expertise lol)

I waited a LONG time to try Rhode because I was so skeptical but omg I'm so glad I finally did - I absolutely LOVE the milky toner thing and the pocket blush AND the peptide lip treatments (not the tinted ones) SO GOOD. I can't even walk in the bathroom without putting more Rhode milky stuff on 😂 The toasted Teddy Pocket blush gives the perfect "slightly sunburned" look like post-vacation! I couldn't see the blush on you when applied - try heavier application!! You'll love it.
What supplements brands to you stick to? Also what supplements do you take?
I’m so bummed that I can’t get the pocket blushes or the nail polish! I live in Sweden and neither of the brands ship internationally 😢. Rachel, you might have convinced me that finally try Halara. Everything that you showed from them looks so nice and comfortable! Btw, the only collagen that might work ( used with vitamin E ) is marine collagen.

I love my skort from Halara, but I'm plus size and 4'11", so the pants I bought didn't come in petite. They came in petite for the "normal" sizes, but not plus size, so they are way too long. Like covered my entire shoe long.
Edit to add: most of thwir pants dont even come in plus size. Most of the pants only go up to 1X

I learned something new in this video....applying cream blush with a fluffier brush! Even though I have cream/liquid blushes, I always seem to reach for a powder blush. I can't wait to try your technique~ LOVE this video, it would make a wonderful series!! (What foundation were you wearing under the blushes? Your skin looked so beautiful!)

I can confirm that biotin will affect the lab work I have done regularly for thyroid levels. I just have to be sure I stop any biotin supplements several days before labs.
if you’re interested in trying another nail polish brand similar to Holo Taco (which I love too), I highly recommend mooncat! Their polishes are STUNNING and I find that they’re the quickest drying and longest lasting nail polishes I’ve ever tried! I can sometimes go weeks without seeing a single chip

The zinc is probably what makes you feel funny! I get nauseous and dizzy from any supplement with zinc in it!
I think the "extra" packaging of the rhode blushes is really unnecessary. Especially since she is calling it a pocket blush... soooo the smaller the better I think
I LOVE Holotaco! The only product of hers I tried that I found I didn't care for was the peel off base. Great concept, but I found for me it peels off a bit too easily.

Biotin can also make you breakout more and extra oily. I've cut back on my intake of it after finding that out the hard way!!
Biotin breaks me out! My cystic acne was terrible until I switched to a Biotin free vitamin.
I've taken zinc and it made me sick as a dog. My friends dr told her that most ppl don't need to take extra zinc unless the Dr tells them to. We ended up having to drink a ton of water for weeks trying to flush the zinc out.

OMG RACHEL, I do believe you just explained to me what happened to my hair yesterday. I dyed my hair and it comes with some serum mask, not your regular conditioning mask that you get in a boxed hair dye. I left it on for the five minutes that it tells you to do, rinsed my hair out & I had a glob of hair come out of my head & my hair felt like straw and then proceeded to use a deep conditioning mask but my hair still does not feel lovely at all.
Goodness sakes I’m having enough trouble right now, I have to have back surgery and we are trying to do injections until after my daughter‘s wedding because I have her bridal shower and wedding in September and October. It took everything that I am to dye my hair at this very moment but my hair was so grown out, I had grays for days!
There is nothing wrong with going gray. We need to let society stop telling us just because we are gray we are old. When I stopped coloring my hair I started having healthier hair.

I can’t do a whole lot in my life because of my disability so I enjoy doing my hair, unfortunately I have a lot of gray hair now and when you dye your hair dark which I was blonde for many years but I love the dark now and when it grows out let’s say an inch or two you almost look like you’re bald when you have gray hair at the root and then the rest is dark, it’s hard to explain.
Holo taco is the only brand I've tried, a couple years ago. I didn't like it. The colors are beautiful and unique, but it never dried down to be hardened. It was easily disturbed, squishy, and never hardened. I prefer mooncat nail polish.
