It's a shame you couldn't finish your Guthix Balance Potion but I guess grinding silver by hand is a bit difficult. If only you had an industrial grinder.

Yeah, doing quests in release order is fairly important for unguided play. Quest devs often reference materials and stuff without explanation simply because it's from a prior quest

Hmm... I would have thought the French would have pronounced Myreque as "mee-reck". Tbf though , Jagex has weird ideas about how to pronounce stuff, especially if French is thrown into the equation. Take Ardougne for instance: it looks french, and the French would say "Ardoon". But the wiki, and some jmods, say "Ardoyn"", like they're thinking of Dordogne". See, Dordogne doesn't have the "u" like Ardougne", and that would produce an "oo" sound rather than Dordogne's "oy" sound. Conclusion: official RuneScape doesn't know what it's talking about. So for Ardougne" it's better to say "Ardy". As for the Myreque... I follow J1mmy and say "My-Ree-Kee". Cos it's cool.
That's the name of the Bajoran resistance group against the Cardassians in star trek . Pronounced by our favorite Frenchman with an inexplicable British accent as "maah-key' Obviously a reference to the same French resistance groups.
This series has been a joy and I have returned to my old RS account as a result. Am playing on the current version of RS, or RS3 as it is called and I am having fun playing quests while this is on in the back ground. having this on is also good while I fish and make plenty of Lobsters to keep myself alive during the combat quests, I just did Nature Spirit not too long ago and I am working through quests in an odd manor, but it has been fun. So thank you Alien Food
Was busy with some irl stuff for a while, just did a full on binge-watching session for a few days to catch up on like 20 episodes, still just as amazing 😅 Ps. Love to see the huge growth from the start of the series, I mean obviously this was going to explode 😉 but still amazing to see. Gz!
This is literally the best series on UA-cam. Been watching since the start, cant get enough seeing you battle against yourself lol. Much love, 100k subs right around the corner
It's so funny how I'm sometimes impressed how fast you get something, and sometimes I'm thinking: OMG how can you not see this! Really entertaining and unique channel. Never knew it was even possible to make swamp paste from scratch. Keep it up!
Without a doubt my favorite osrs series. Please keep this up. I watch it every day and I get so excited when a new video comes out. You've inspired me to play runescape in a whole new way. Keep it up and much love from the USA
these videos do such a great job of keeping me entirely captivated. it continues to blow my mind how pieces of information i've learned from guides are not so easily gained.. so impressive
The amount of encouragement that i audibly say to try and give you guidance, is hilarious. i keep on wanting to give you the push in the right direction, Love the series!
I cant believe the growth on this channel on a game that's a million years old! I've been here since the first few hundred, and it's just unreal. We hitting 100k baby!
30:42 "There is nothing in the quest log. It just says, 'Perhaps the secret library could give me more information about Morytania,' which I've gotten ~~~Obviously~~~ and read."
As an american i dont think i should inherently know what a poultice is but traveling is exposure, I think its on the same level of knowledge of knowing flour and water can make glue or a basic dough in the right ratios. European countries tend to use old skills regularly cause its cheap, its like an american grandma knowing how to can foods on a fire stove or do macrame doilies from scratch
That's actually the trouble with some games nowadays. They're built with a Wiki in hand and not a game tester thinking about things and literally making it so that all the information is given to the player at every step. You can still be thematic and world-build, but convoluted quests like these just can't hardly pass the frustration test sometimes.
I heard him say "cage crawlers" and I yelled YES!!! but I think I actually mistaken the swamp paste he's trying to make with whatever herb u mix swamp tar with lol. I actually had no idea you can mix flour with swamp tar to make swamp paste.... Interesting
This account is a very warm welcome after spacebarring my way through all the carefully scripted and thought of dialouges Jagex' has put a lot of time and effort in.
I look forward to the silver dust tier of membership 😂😂. You’ve got this! You can work it out. This series is so much fun and so interesting. Your focus on the lore is very much appreciated. Keep your energy up! It’s a convoluted series of items to source but you’re on your way. I miss the hungry kitten!!

Haven't even gotta 10 minutes in but man not all problems can be solved with "Is it burnable" or "Should I kill this" BUT it has worked for you so not much I can say😅😅
You've thanked us for an incredible 2024 and I'd like to thank you for the same thing. This series has been an extremely comforting, engaging, and enjoyable experience throughout the year and has helped me get by even when it hasn't been so easy. I love the work you do, and continue to wish you every success in both your adventures and channel.
I dont know what I could give to forget all guides info that I know and dive into like you do. That indeed looks like frustration but in some kind of a fun way
I absolutely love this series. But I wish in the intro there was a guy in the background saying "where tf do i get milk", that made me crack up in the early episodes 🤣
Though it would go against being unguided, back in 2004 (amongst other years), jagex had a "I'm stuck on a quest" page. You could ask for 3 hints everyday on your active quests (up to 3 per quest or quest step). The hint would start cryptic and get more precise for the 2nd and 3rd
Alien, I know you may feel like you have to complete a whole quest inside of an episode (both for production and spoiler-free purposes), but I do think you could also benefit by putting a quest "down" for a bit when you're stuck, doing a side thing (or a different quest), and letting your subconscious puzzle it together in the background. You may feel dumb in these videos, but I think they've really shown how resourceful and clever you are, so I have no worries that if you paused a quest, you would come back later with a new and helpful idea! (/gen) Thanks for making one of my current favorite series on UA-cam!
It has to be close to a year since I first came across this series via the short about Melzar's maze. My main MMO has been Final Fantasy 14 and I have a strong interest in the lore of that game and I was interested in learning it in OSRS as well, but found that none of the series/videos I'd watched actually covered much of it; until you. And I love that you pay close attention to the storylines and background information throughout the entire series. In exactly 2 weeks, it will be a full year since I actually started playing OSRS and since then I've actually managed to do all 3 raids at least once, get a fire cape and, most importantly, gotten that quest cape (ironically using some of the episodes of Unguided AS A GUIDE!)! So if anything, I should be the one thanking you for 2024 and I hope this year is a good one for you!
I just did too and wow, yeah...I was trying to think of something bigger to grind it down, but that is such dead content and not used for anthing but bones as far as I knew. No chance
Absolutely loving the series! Cheers mate! Look forward to more episodes 😀 Ps the vampire series is one of my personal favorites in terms of story so I highly suggest continuing it.
This was genuinely a great watch. Yeah doing those old-school quests back in the day was about as frustrating as you experienced today I legit wish I could sub again

The devs pronounce it mi-rekky
That's the name of the Bajoran resistance group against the Cardassians in star trek .
Pronounced by our favorite Frenchman with an inexplicable British accent as "maah-key'
Obviously a reference to the same French resistance groups.
Came here just to say this. I can not go on listening to him say "My-reek"
I have lost all respect for the myreque now that I know theyre french.
Long live Lowerniel
This series has been a joy and I have returned to my old RS account as a result.
Am playing on the current version of RS, or RS3 as it is called and I am having fun playing quests while this is on in the back ground.
having this on is also good while I fish and make plenty of Lobsters to keep myself alive during the combat quests, I just did Nature Spirit not too long ago and I am working through quests in an odd manor, but it has been fun.
So thank you Alien Food
15:20 Gadderanks is just like me when im tired and i finally get to my bed 😅
Was busy with some irl stuff for a while, just did a full on binge-watching session for a few days to catch up on like 20 episodes, still just as amazing 😅
Ps. Love to see the huge growth from the start of the series, I mean obviously this was going to explode 😉 but still amazing to see. Gz!
I've finally caught up on the series but now it's gonna be so long to be able to watch another episode :(
This series just keeps getting batter!
You know its going to be a banger when it's 2 weeks without an upload and then it's an hour when it drops.
Keep it up lad, you've got this
This is literally the best series on UA-cam. Been watching since the start, cant get enough seeing you battle against yourself lol. Much love, 100k subs right around the corner
I recently did this questline for the first time with minimal wiki usage and honestly this went better than expected
It's so funny how I'm sometimes impressed how fast you get something, and sometimes I'm thinking: OMG how can you not see this!
Really entertaining and unique channel. Never knew it was even possible to make swamp paste from scratch. Keep it up!
do i need a rope instead?
me: YES
alien: maybe... but lets not try that.
me: FACEDESKS
I had no idea you could make swamp paste! Brilliant mate
This must be Mod Ed's favorite series ever.
I am absolutely shocked that you figured out how to make swamp paste. I remember this being an issue and had no idea how to get it
I'm so stoked for the future of this series I've watched every episode to date man I love the raw content keep up the hard work
I love that you use the music at 3:36 as a “womp womp” effect
😂
There's other ways of getting it, but good job figuring out how to actually make the swamp paste.
That flour on swamp tar took me back not gonna lie, I'm still scratching my head on how you figured that out.
if you didn't know that "paste" usually means "flour, plus water, maybe something else too", then you're just shooting in the dark.
If you did quest in the order they came out then the "Sea slug" quest comes before this one and explains swamp paste
@@Br0ken_Rob0tswhat are you banging on about 😂 shit Americans say. Thanks for the laugh
@@Saviorborn He's not doing them in order though
lmao right when u said stat restore potion and closed the window I screamed hahah the poor lad
Interesting
You're a champ for getting through that!
New Year, New Unguided Video
This account is a very warm welcome after spacebarring my way through all the carefully scripted and thought of dialouges Jagex' has put a lot of time and effort in.
I look forward to the silver dust tier of membership 😂😂. You’ve got this! You can work it out. This series is so much fun and so interesting. Your focus on the lore is very much appreciated. Keep your energy up! It’s a convoluted series of items to source but you’re on your way.
I miss the hungry kitten!!
*Unhinged asf, love the series mate. Actually makes sense that they fear stat restores since draining your blood would theoretically drain your stats. It’s like getting a juice and some cookies after donating blood haha*
Happy that you managed to find it out in the end! Great start of the new year, looking forward seeing your unguided adventures in 2025!
I JUST caught up with this series today. What a treat
I dont know what I could give to forget all guides info that I know and dive into like you do. That indeed looks like frustration but in some kind of a fun way
I love how I've space bar'd so many quests to avoid lore and I'm sat here now learning it all watching your videos
I just checked, and start to finish this quest took me 48 minutes, with the wiki, plugin, on my main, so I think you did great!
is there a way to check how long a quest took?
@conradical5941 Nah, I record all my questions tho
I didn't remember how to make Swamp Paste either. I only remembered a shop where you can buy it.
In veliafs defence fro not letting you join the myrique, you did get a lot of them killed
Peak content to watch while finishing up my Leagues tasks.
The hint would start cryptic and get more precise for the 2nd and 3rd
the well bit actually got me angry when you had everything in your hands and you just didnt do the thing.
(/gen)
Thanks for making one of my current favorite series on UA-cam!
So if anything, I should be the one thanking you for 2024 and I hope this year is a good one for you!
i gotta say, you're truly gaming if you've done all of that in a year :o
An Unguided video a day keeps the quest helper away
I looked up how to get silver dust and started dying of laughter. Hopefully you never need to actually obtain it.
I just did too and wow, yeah...I was trying to think of something bigger to grind it down, but that is such dead content and not used for anthing but bones as far as I knew. No chance
it's pronounced MYRE-KEY because it's a play on the word Maquis (Mah-Kee) the French resistance fighters from ww2
I cannot express how much I am anticipating Unguided someday attempting Holy Grail.
Cannot wait for darkness of hallowvale
Absolutely loving the series! Cheers mate! Look forward to more episodes 😀
Ps the vampire series is one of my personal favorites in terms of story so I highly suggest continuing it.
Yesterday I bought myself an expensive bottle of whiskey for special occasions. Today I decided that a Alien Food video is a special occasion
This was genuinely a great watch. Yeah doing those old-school quests back in the day was about as frustrating as you experienced today I legit wish I could sub again
I love this series. It feels like true old school gaming.
Veliaf: "Go to paterdomus"
Unguided: "I need the guthix potion and to crush silver, boy im so confused"
