True. Humans can take a lesson from them . And yes, they are good parents too! When the couple came to nest every year on my shed roof ,it was heart warming to know they were still together and trying to raise their babies. (Where the food was lol)
A really wonderful man to sacrifice his beloved deck to beautiful geese to raise their family. Then to call for help to have them relocated to a safe place. Well done!
You're one cooperative goose grampa, happy story to tell! To hear that you're reenacting the freeing of the babies year after year gives me a wonderful chuckle. Nice folks indeed. 🎉
LOL from the video I get the sense he's going out of his way not to provoke them, especially with eggs and babies around. Afterall we didn't see how messy this "relocation" must have been.
actually, ive seen some videos on yt where the geese actually LIKE the person that comes up to them. But I think he met them as gosilings. So they were super happy to see him and also got some nice peas while at it.
I actually just came here from a different UA-cam video of them attacking a random guy who was just trying to go to work because he *dared* to cross their path. 😂

Nah, the ones running around here don't even hiss except if they have goslings since they know that would scare people off from feeding them.
You are a good goose dad. They certainly appreciate the loving attention you pay towards them. I bet it's a treat to watch Hilary give birth each year to goslings. So cool! 🪿💕💕
Canada Geese are incredible parents. They even organise their own creches in Coal Harbour, Vancouver with two geese looking after anywhere up to fifty Goslings.
@@Knapweed the ones I've seen are mostly all show, with the hissing and raised wings. And I have faced down and told off the occasional one. But I'm with you...I wouldn't want to go up against a truly angry one.
@@animeaunty this could be an apartment, you can't simply "add" things, your landlord has to agree. Building a ramp an entire floor down is certainly not a thing any landlord would agree on.
Best alarm system you could ever have!! Geese are so beautiful and intelligent, and goslings are very entertaining poofs to watch. 💫Perhaps put a small padding pool out for next year? ⛲
Picture the sneaking criminal on the forbidden 'do not use' top ladder perch, several stories up, badly startled and descended upon furiously! Teeheehee...
They shat on it, it’s their deck now. 😂 Kudos to the owner for caring for mama and the babies and letting them live there until they were ready to move. ❤
The more I see videos like this of people sharing their space, and living symbiotically with wild animals, the more I feel that this World is growing and learning.
Being from Texas, where geese only fly over, I was charmed by them calling from the roofs and nesting in the flowerbeds in Boise, ID. I walked up to a downtown building we'd rented for a business conference, and the goose in the flowerbed was huge! I nodded and said, "how you doing? You're a good momma! You got a good nest for your eggs!" The goose said "honk." Only a few coworkers were in the conference room, though? Then we got a call that most of the other women had been scared off by that goose & needed a big man to escort them in. ...So, don't be afraid to acknowledge geese and give them props. It seems to work!
This is great! I have cared for a lot of birds, squirrels and deer, never geese. Can't wait until next year when your entire deck is full with the whole family😁
Aww, so sweet to them! Considering their temperaments! Well, at least the Canada geese that I've dealt with! Violence is usually the first option for them, even when no eggs or chicks are involved. The babies are so darn cute though! Bless 'em and a Big Thank You for taking such good care of them and allowing them to hatch their young in a safe space.
Great story. I had the same two geese come to nest on the roof of my shed year after year. And year after year the crows would rob their nest. Still, I fed the pair so they came around daily to inform me when it was meal time. Those two, the turkey family, the deer families, squirrels , Bluejays and chickadees all knew when the kitchen was open! I miss them.
Mine would be like Day #4 of the Geese taking over my deck and things have gone horribly wrong. The geese have claimed squatter's rights and are taking me to court to try to seize my property. But what can I do they have babies! Too cute!
What a nice deck owner to take care of Hillary and Hank and let them hatch their babies in peace. How cool to see every year.
Day one No eggs, day 5 eggs day 6 chicks, heheheheh, lol not how life works, but Good for him to let them be 🥰
Hillary 2024!
Geese name should have been Karen
It's an honour 🙂.

It's great to see people coexisting with nature and you are fortunate that mom trust your deck and you.
What a wonderful experience. More people should be like you. Respect nature and all living things
I like that he relocated them. Their environment is EVERYTHING! I love the way he told the story too! Lol 😆
A really wonderful man to sacrifice his beloved deck to beautiful geese to raise their family. Then to call for help to have them relocated to a safe place. Well done!
It was really nice, but any decent person should do the same; they have less habitat now that humans have built over it.
You're one cooperative goose grampa, happy story to tell! To hear that you're reenacting the freeing of the babies year after year gives me a wonderful chuckle. Nice folks indeed. 🎉
I love how Hilary and Hank now have the routine down, and the Lovely Deck Owner is such a gracious host.
He lost a deck, but gained so much more. Thank you for your generosity.
Very cute! Eggs safe from ground predators, too.
THIS! ⬆️ So true. 👏 I’m glad someone saw how intelligent it was/the reading behind it. ❤
If this is where I think it is, ground predators are a real risk.
Thank you so much for letting them live with you! Beautiful story :)

More like the Geese shared their deck with him
Such a nice little video about appreciation and acceptance 😊

Your deck makes the perfect playpen for the goslings! I can see why they chose it! Plus, pea soup!
after the goslings are done using it it's probably better described as pee soup.
