I have always loved when your mother would cook with you. The reminiscing between the two of you made it even more precious. Family cooking together is a great way to keep traditions extra special. Seeing her cook with you through the years has added a warm place in my heart every time. It reminds me of how my grandmother and my mom and her sisters would work in the kitchen on the weekends when our families all came together. I in the 7th grade wanted to learn how to cook. To me, it was like a special project where I could take different ingredients and when all was done it came out a great success. I knew as a young man that I would never be stuck with fast food. I keep my grandmother's and mother's recipes to this day. Grandmother is gone but when I fix her dishes it is like she is there with me smiling. Oh how I miss her so.
Dear Lidia, love your show and these sweet memories of Grandma who very much reminded me of my own Armenian grandmother. She also taught us to sit around the table as children and help cleaning the rice grains from impurities just the same exact way you showed! She would also make “soup” with just rice and milk. Sometimes sweetened with a little sugar. Just amazing how similar, even the way of talking. May their souls rest in peace. It is heartwarming to see how special your interactions were and how respected and loved Grandma was and is. 🌟
Another home run! Used Sauvignon Blanc for the wine and instead of water I used a mix of water and low sodium vegetable stock as my cooking liquid. I also didn't have enough clams so we did a mix of clams and shrimp. Better than the risotto I get at most if not all restaurants! Highly recommend.
I miss my Grandma to she was always baking & cooking around the holidays, pittcells , anise toast, the bowes with the powderd sugar,,not to mention the egg drop soup & ravioli & meatballs, like a 4 course dinner all made with love from Italian Recipes, From PHILLY , Sorry for ur loss😂😂💙💙💙🤶🎅🤶🎅🍰🍰🍰🤘🤘👌
Lidia, thank you for demystifying risotto for me years ago. I now cook it with confidence and enjoy any variation that comes my way. Seafood risottos are my personal favorite, so this recipe has just landed on my let’s cook this next list!
Hi Lidia, I followed this recipe as I watched this video a few days ago and I loved it. I also tried it with ginger( please don’t get mad ) and olives because I wanted to add more flavor and it was also yummy! Thank you always for sharing with us your knowledge of family cooking. God bless you and your grandmother. Take good care of her! ❤️🇵🇭❤️
I don’t know if I can make this recipe, because I’m not too good - but I recently had a delicious risotto in Naples. And I went to the opera at the San Carlo!
