Catherine... Hello angel. Jeez, your hair is really long now. It looks fantastic. You're a good friend and hiking partner. It was very kind of you to change your plans to help Kim and Steve make the most of their trip. I know you've dealt with altitude sickness yourself. It does suck. I've struggled through it a couple of times myself. I trust Kim was okay once you all got back to civilization. The Winds are magnificent. I understand why you you love it so much. Personally I would have to get in the waters of those pristine mountain lakes. Ice cold or not. Great video today sweetheart. Awesome scenery. Beautiful wildflowers. And the wildlife in the closing scenes, especially the moose calf. Outstanding!! Safe travels Cat. Have fun always. Love you. 🌹 Randy. 🎼
Day 2 sunrise was heart stopping Catherine!! Wow, nice photography 😊😊😊 sorry for the Mountain sickness, THAT is no joke. People have died not relinquishing their gut feeling!😮😮
Hi Cat , we are rapidly approaching the goal of 100K subscribers 😀. Next stop 1 million !!! Great video as always . Reminds me of the Robert Frost poem " The Road Not Taken " . I have it on a plaque in my 26' Fleetwood Prowler . Be safe & happy 😊
Yes plans B-D always important ! And you couldn’t be in a more beautiful place to launch them. I’ve had altitude sickness in the Sierra & it’s no joke & can get very serious … hope your friend recovered & enjoyed her burger ( you should have filmed that 😊)
Great video even though things didn't go as planned. I would be happy to drop into that camp spot and just spend a week right there! You always bring out the beauty in your surroundings. Great talent!❤
When I’m looking for a little peace and beauty and good vibes and music…I choose you. Thank you for all your hard work. I hope to see the Winds in my RV someday.
Such beautiful scenery! Id love to go there some day but im disabled so I live vicariously through your videos. Thank you for doing what you do Catherine! Love your work.
Beautiful area. Glad you made the est of it and you were still able to get some stunning Photos and videography Keep up the great work Cat Love your content
The Winds are so beautiful! Definitely on my bucket list. Cat I sure hope you make a return to the Olympic Mountains, theres even a Cat Basin to visit!
Hello!" Cathrine!" Things happen, Though you still made it to Dads Lake. That is gorgeous. Then you made it to Flat rock Lake that was beautiful. Then you made it back to the trail., the hike still turned out pretty.Untill your next video.😊
Beautiful scenery. I'm glad Kim is ok. Education on altitude sickness is priceless., as well as changing plans to fit the circumstances. There's always next year to do the original hike. Thank you for the wonderful content.
Square Top is ominous. I remember traveling on that washboard dirt road and coming around the bend seeing the first glimpse of it. It’s been many many moons since I was there. ( the early 90s) I hope it isn’t overly developed. 💫🧚♂️💫
I have found most of the time when a plan goes awry, the adventure is usually unforgettable and more enjoyable, forcing you to do something you wouldn’t have done if you stuck to your plan. Doing it with friends makes it even endearing.
SO gorgeous here! Square top reminds me of half dome. I have only backpacked once, from Tuolumne Meadows to Yosemite Valley. I loved it so much. Very special to be where no car can go. But today I would not do this hike unless there was a hot spring as the destination. Well, I cannot do this hike but I would try if there were a hot spring. And there are TONS where you are!
Wow absolutely gorgeous video. You are so right about the Altitude sickness is nothing to mess with. I experienced some when I went to Ouray Colorado. Not fun. As always, I enjoy your beautiful videos. Thank you, Kat.
I haven't watched much of this yet however I did see the Big Sandy Trailhead. After being on a NOLS trip in the Winds for a month straight, coming down to the Big Sandy Trailhead and seeing cars was the most surreal experience. It's amazing how fast humans adapt to new normals. I'm gonna watch this now, I'm sure it'll be unpredictable as the Winds usually are.
Glad you made the best of things and stayed safe! Watched the last solar eclipse from the Green River Lakes area. Hiked up the Green River and floated down with my pack raft..amazing views of Squaretop.
Ms. Gregory Your style of editing "Just Fits" what I love. If you put the view at 21:37 on your to be sold pictures I would buy that in a heart beat!!! Thanks for a wonderful adventure.
As always in your videos spectacular scenery, Beautiful Nature ,a trip to be called an adventure has to have the elements of surprise and sometimes discomfort but as time passes the memory of that moments becomes a fun story so I can bet that the couple anniversary celebration will become a favorite one of the many to come
Altitude sickness has brought the staunchist adventurer to their knees. Ive had it once in Peru, in the Andes and it truly is no joke. Maybe a new rule for you Flatlanders out there.....get acclimated Before going up in altitude. Just sayin. Beautiful video/scenery, as always. Glad you all used mature judgement, went with the flow and arrived home safe and sound. Happy Anniversary.
When we used to take teens and adults from Missouri to Colorado we always waited until day 5 or 6 to do any strenuous hikes and really emphasized drinking lots of water during those days leading up to hike up to 12,000 feet. Better safe than sorry!
I had to adjust my backpack trip last fall on that same trail. It’s good to be flexible. I also believe things happen for a reason. I’ll be up there in a few weeks to explore The Winds again. Good vid.
I lived up on the wind river rez back in 2018. It was beautiful and I miss it. Going up to the mountains, creeks, lakes, and seeing all the sights everyday. Ty for this video. Much love from Oklahoma.
I was testing out some new gear one year and got altitude sickness. Fell face first into some rock , smashed my phone in my hand. Looked like I got in a fight and lost LOL. I felt some symptoms but didn't think that much of it.... Good thing I was not standing near a cliff. Got to be careful and pay attention to what your body is telling you.
Three generous, flexible, grateful people. There are life lessons in this video.
I live in Wyoming, altitude sickness is REAL no shame! Smart decision.
Excellent, beautiful area⭐️😎🤩
It is a smart man who adjusts to his ever changing limits.
although the plans changed, everything turned out wonderful, as always. thanks for sharing.🤗🙋🏾♀️

Great wisdom in the words it endangers everyone. Backpacking tends to be busy instead of being. Magnificent views! Thank you🥰
The area and trails are so beautiful! I added the hiking trails to my bucket list. :)
Just as you said - everything happens for a reason. You were where you were supposed to be, and what a gorgeous place to be!!
