This is exactly right. We need one player who can do all that's expected - physically and mentally - of the Y position. In McDaniel's offense a lot is asked of this player in terms of not only being a part of the run-blocking game, but hitting 'spots' on blocks which is more difficult than simply blocking the guy lined up in front of you. And, they have to be effective in the receiving game. He was clearly spoiled in SF with Kittle who is a beast in both the run and pass game. Guys like Kittle don't come along often - and are even more rarely found in the 5th round. Not saying we need a Kittle, but the best reasonable facsimile would elevate our offense significantly. An addition like this coupled with moving on from Hill and using Achane a bit (read: not nearly as much/often as Hill) to fulfill the need for another speedy WR opposite Waddle for certain looks would transform our offense toward being more balanced and able to respond to the kinds of defensive adjustments that have shut us down so easily. To accommodate this, I see a bigger role for Jaylen Wright in the run game.
This franchise has never drafted a hi level classic Y tight end who can do it all, think about that, anythony Fasano is your best, Lets just make april easy and select Warren at 13 and not over think it. Kid can do it all at a high level and has the mindset this team needs.

I could see Taylor being drafted with their 3rd compensatory pick if he is still available, to replace Smith
