Does anyone else remember when Eichenberg said that the reason he didn't give up sacks in college is because his quarterback was good at evading the rush? It was at a media avail during/entering his rookie year. I always think of that bc it's funny that he told us that he wasn't anything special before he even started
Given the Dolphins uncertainty around Tua, Hill, Chubb, Holland, Armstead and Campbell plus the awful cap situation, coupled with dire needs at on the Oline, I really don’t see how Grier and McDaniel can turn this around in one year. They are probably gone after this year. Our best hope is an Aplus draft and a new philosophy regarding line play for 2026.
Wym? Washington was horrible for years and they turned it around. Every year is a new year. Tua being back healthy will be huge. Emphasize protecting him and replace Holland and we should be fine
Tua will be healthy, that’s not the concern, it’s whether he can stay healthy. With no money to purchase a guard we have to hope that we can get something for Chubb that we can use to bolster our line. However, I admit you are a great fan that has much faith in this administration. I will continue to pray for a miracle.
@@johnkaram1 In the NFL if you beat the teams you are supposed to beat and maybe lose only one home game - playoffs every year. Now, if you can beat a couple teams you’re not supposed to beat, possible division title. If the Dolphins beat Arizona, Indy and Tenn - they’re in. Easy.
When you can’t draft and piss away high draft picks for over priced FAs, what do you expect? One of the worst run teams in all of pro sports for the last 30 yrs.
Saban personally endorsed Minka and we traded the 11th pick and one of the best safties in the draft for what ended up being Noah Igbinoghene. There is no excuse for the dispiciple loss of draft capital. Fangio praised GINK not chubb or phillips or wilkins, GINK from day one. Who made the probowl this year? GINK.
@@alldolphinspodcast Technically yes. But Noah was the addition to the secondary. Austin Jackson should not have been a first round draft choice. GINK is a probowler and Justin Jefferson was selected 4 spots behind Austin Jackson. Either way Minka and Xavien Howard would have had free range over a great defense for years to come.
Crossman and Welker will be candidates for Assistant Coach of the Year soon. That's what happens when they leave here. Nic to see Fangio remembered how to coach.
@ Brother they’d make a new award called “iron man” and he’d win it every year 😭. This team is absolutely cursed man. I promise you if we trade him all of what we’re saying would happen and whoever they replaced him with would be a bum.
Speaking of Dolphin draft busts. No mention of Noah Igbinoghene now suddenly getting meaningful play time with the conference championship bound Commanders
Trading Tyreek makes this team so much better if we allocate resources to the trenches. I watched every single pass Tua made recently when his pocket is clean and he knows it's clean and honestly even though we say he's the most accurate in the league it still feels like an understatement. Get me Tyler Warren and some big guards in this draft and watch my boy COOK!!!!!! Think Waddle would benefit too.
I agree with Perk. BPA idea is a wash. Oh and to your point, Poup about the Raiders with Bowers. Yeah he had a great year but what did it do for the team? They're exactly where they would've been if they hadn't. Not even close.
Bradley Chubb with a 28.6 million cap hit is totally ridiculous. Hill could have been off the books. That's 56 million right there. How many players is 56 million? The Rams in two drafts rebuilt their team. Ross must be snoozing in his nap chair.
Couldn't disagree more with Perk. Part of the reason the Dolphins are in the situation they're in is because they're always trying to address needs in the draft as opposed to taking the BPA. Poupart is right, and also what may not look like a need in April very well could turn out to be a need by October. Obviously if 2 players are even, then you take the guy that fills a hole. I also disagree that pass rusher is off the table. Chubb will be over 18 months from playing meaningful football by the time Sept rolls around. Phillips hasn't played much, either, and both now have 2 major injuries. He wouldn't take the best pass rusher in the draft if he's the best player? Lack of picks and trying to fill a need or get a year ahead of a need has led to AJ, Noah, Cam Smith, and Chop. Luckily Chop played well, but he wasn't expected to be a heavy contributor this year, and AJ is at least a quality starter at RT without breaking the bank. So you can say it worked out in those cases, but we could've done a hell of a lot better if they took the best player on the board. Some of it could be blamed on scouting, but we'll never know for sure. You always take the BPA. I'd rather have a position group be very strong than 2 position groups be mediocre or worse.
Are we paying attention to Jaxson Dart or what? They need to add him to the mix and if Tua is who his fan boys think, he shouldn’t be worried. He would be terrified. He ain’t the guy in any aspect, including mentally
He's the best olineman we have. He played in 15 games this year. A good LT is not easy to replace, but for the money he's getting, probably better to cut ties now
@zacharylocke5512 Yeah, I have confidence in Paul, but he's still an unknown compared to Armstead. If he turns out to be a good player. That's a great 2nd rd pick
The oline has been trash since Grier has been drafting back in 2016 and there’s absolutely no statistical analysis that supports otherwise. Please stop making excuses for Grier and his staff that dates back to his arrival. Perk is on record saying that guards are not that important, so while I dig his coverage, that is a blight on his otherwise fine work. I hope Poup is not making the same suggestion in his article.
Tua was dinking and dunking when we played buffalo at buffalo this year. Look at the tape, McDaniel rely on the run game and did let Tua put it in harms way. I’m sorry not a great game by him, he played okay
Tyreek already is toxic, it’s not just a little temper tantrum. He plays a huge role in creating the culture there. So when he’s getting detained, slapping people in the face, having baby momma drama left and right, showing up late to the practice field while everyone else has been working in the sun, trolling on social media AND taking himself out of the game AND saying he wants out… that is toxic and much more than just a little temper tantrum. When someone like that is the biggest influence on the team, are you surprised that there’s discipline issues on the team? Poup you’re great but choosing to be blind to all the negatives because of his talent (talent that is declining btw)
“If we would have beat TENN in 2023, we would have had a home playoff game and we would have won that playoff game”. That statement is flawed in so many ways. How can you say with any certainty that we would have won a home playoff game when we couldn’t even beat a lowly TENN team at home to even get the home playoff game?? Tyreek hurt or not. The QB that you thought it was wise enough to pay big money couldn’t come through in crunch time to beat a lowly Titans team but we “know” we would have won a home playoff game?? 🤔 Had we beat the Titans and got the home playoff game, we would be saying, “…if…we would have won the home playoff game” see how that works? That’s why they call Tua “If Man”
You people in Florida freeze when it's in the 50's. What a laugh. You people are so wimpy. We wear t-shirts in that weather. No wonder the Dolphins are so damn soft and never win when it's 40 degrees or colder.
BPA is suggestive. The Dolphins evaluation of BPA is different than 31 other teams, and it is different than yours. The Raiders is a bad example. Sure, they drafted a stud TE last year, but they still sucked. The Dolphins have no QBs on their BPA list until rounds 3 or 4 most likely. I will say if there is an Edge at 13, which is BPA on their board, they'll either draft him or trade down.
Enjoyed the debate on drafting philosophy. For the Fins, BPA too often stands for Bust Picked Again.

Phins fans the dolphins only need three things to win the Super Bowl:
A brand new offense.
A brand new defense.
A brand new special teams.

The playcalling effect Hill a lot. Why doesn't Waddle get any heat. Waddles drops hurt in some games.
