Foosball Tips: Slingshot

  • Extra info: A lot of these shots look to be hit really deep for a slingshot, but it's all the same concept for hitting them really short. Also, as you get comfy hitting them slow, as you speed up, the bumper will end up doing more of a bounce off of the wall rather than "sticking like glue" to the wall... but the concept again is the same: the muscle memory knowing how far from the wall to hit it will be there, and then you just have to focus on watching the ball.

    Awesome video, didn't have a clue what you were doing until you slowed it way down and explained. Nice work!

    As you noted in the description... I prefer the slingshots (2 bar) to be hit as deep (the release to be as close as possible to the wall) as possible, in order for the ball to move at more of an angle towards the goal.. this is especially effective in singles, as it breaks a number of different zones..

    I came to your channel for your amazing buttering skills (Moonwalking vid in particular) but stayed for stuff like this and those kick ass buttering tutorials. Keep doing your thing man.

    I thought slingshot is only for fun games. But with the consistency you're shooting it - one might even try it for a tournament. Very nice break-down of the shot.

      In general, I'd definitely advise the shot to be mostly a funsy game only shot... Especially from the 3-row. But with any shot... if you practice it enough, and think you can have an advantage by using it, then it can be a nice addition. And this indeed is a fun shot to learn and to be able to hit... but yeah, the learning process of it is probably more effective than actually using the shot in real matches. For the 2-row I love it cuz I hit it pretty good, and even if it's completely blocked it rarely is ever stuffed back into my goal. For me personally, I use it all the time on the 2-Row, but basically never on the 3-row in real games. Thanks for the compliment, and happy foosin!

      I shoot it in serious games all the time and it's an effective scoring shot. Especially in singles since the zones are more consistent. (2 bar sling shot.. wouldnt shoot 3 bar unless my main shot was a push kick.. )

    Ey, which table is this, how much you spent for it and are those anti bounce balls? thanks for answering

    • @RyanKnapton
      @RyanKnapton  10 років тому

      Brand is Tornado. It's the primary tourney table in the U.S. Used you can find the home models for around $300 and the coin ops perhaps $700 or $800. The balls are the standard Tornado balls too.

      Ryan Knapton I don't know where you are getting your pricing, but I was glad to find a T-3000 that I could get for $1100. Non coin-op.

      Yeah, those #'s are around the best deals you can find on Craigslist around Denver... so probably less here that elsewhere cuz there are a lot of tables in Denver. (just sold a coin op myself on it for $700... but it was an older table so def not as nice as your T3000
