    I like the tutorial. It goes to show you that if you want success at the shot you have to have control of the movement of the ball first before anything else.

    Amazing Tutorial Zeke, thank you very much. Even though i've watched an extensive amount of videos on how Collignon exicutes his pins, i never cought the whole wrapping yr finger around the metal part of the rod (or the edge of it), nor did i think of how the little groove might affect the feel of the shot.
    On top of that all you also clearified how to shoot the push side with this type of shot, i never thought of squaring it.
    Anyways, thanks a bunch Zeke! Huge help, keep on foosing! :D

    great video ,
    informative and practical..
    had my hours on tables
    not very different then this and a few on tables exactly like this..
    pinning ball,s on tornados was less easy then it was on the toppers but liked them anyway
    what a noble thing to do to learn everyone how to play tables
    loyal man !
    thanks for sharing

    Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I've been practicing the pin shot ever since I started foosing seriously (about a year now). I'm still not satisfied with my shot and I got some new insight from your video (I'm inspired to practice the tapping/moving around with the ball and that helicopter).

    Thanks for this video! Amazingly, this is the only tutorial I found on the pinshot, despite being such a complex shot with so many options. Maybe Fredo & co want to keep the europin a mystery ;-)

    Hi Emre. That's such a nice shot and it's all about timing. Especially when the defender shows a standard defense like that. Just for you I'll do a quick tip video on it. There is a difference between a cut back shot and that "dink" shot. Thanks for the suggestion.

    @EastVan Photography Better control is developed with practice. You can get really good control on this type of Tornado table. Sounds like you've never played on a Tornado T-3000 if you are comparing it to cheapy table.

    Zeke, thank you fro prompt reply. I am looking forward to seeing your video and thank you in advance for that. I believe table difference will be an issue considering you play on Tornado which is a little difficult to make "Front Pin" compared to UllrichSport tables as Marc Balic plays on.

    Hi Zeke,
    Thanks a ton for this tutorial! I wish you post it an year ago :). I had to learn the shot by other tutorials. I have na OK front-pin with all the options - push, pull and the straight (flip-flop). I tried it on Tornado table and BUM-- nothing.. I read that some adjustments are needed to do it on Tornado but I haven't figured it out yet. I play at Roberto - Adrenaline and on Garlando. What kind of adjustments should I make to shoot it on Tornado?

    I used to shoot this shot with a grip like you showed but I kept smashing my thumb and first finger. I had to change my grip and the shot has never had enough power to make it a viable shot. I am guessing I can shoot the shot with the thumb and finger outside the grip on a toranado table without breaking my thumb on the wall. It that true, will the toranado table allow me to do this?

    Some advantages to a 3 man goalie bar: allows for completely flat playing surfaces, which last longer and are less likely to warp. Also, balls fly off the table less often due to the lack of the corner ramps. Also, it allows for a more aggressive style of defensive play since the defenders can trap more balls and have more shot options. It also forces the offensive player to use more skill in passing from 5 bar to 3 bar, because they can't simply bounce it off of the back board.

    Hi Zeke! I have already watched almost all of your tutorials, and i really approciate your videos. The reason why im writing is that i keep having a problem with my foosball table. When i try to set up pin/sneak position, my ball just slips away. so have u get any idea to fix this slippery problem? i mean a special spray or something..?

    The other deal is that straigt is a problem to hit hard, cos you have to loos contact with the handle and thus always at risk of an over 360 spin ( or at least a discussion around this possibly happenned). And if you'd stop the handle harder, you start jarring. Your vid is great as always, thanks!

    Hey Zeke, quick question. Given that you are showing how to perform this shot using an open palm/handed grip and thus cutting the ball in the opposite direction in order to square the shot, why then is there the apparent stigma that one shouldn't shoot other shots, like the pull or push using an open handed grip? In other words, could you just as easily make this shot using a close handed grip and why is the open hand ok for this shot, but not for the pull or push?

    Zeek, I too have played much of my life on the ol' "TS"/ "butcher-blocks" and I have converted to the Tornado. I now have a new T-3000 and have learned a lot from you videos. The introduction of the snake/roll over blew my mind, and I am getting better at it. Thanks for the trainers. Now- MY MAIN ISSUE ..... please help me catch the ball from my 5 to my 3!! I've gotten good ball control and I have a very good tic-tac, but anything other than a wall pass ..... and I either let the ball go under my 3 .. or I bounce it back to the opponents 5. Suggestions???? (If you have already made a video ... I missed it) Thanks!

    Hi Zeke, Once I was watching this cool game of Marc Balic (a great front pin shooter), I thought that maybe you could prepare a video in the future of this cool trick that is on 21:11 minutes of the below video. I believe it's a really good way to score easily against a routine defence of front pin position, what do you think? UA-cam video number is: dC1aGKLM71E (Sorry UA-cam did not allow me to give the link of the video here)

  • @iljusha
    @iljusha 11 років тому

    Worth mentionnig that unlike pull or snake, frontpin is normally HARDER to run a short opiton both ways, than long ones . Thus, at defence one should pay more attention to corners rather than short holes - unless you see those scored with same percentage. Also, I found Tornados are real harder to set the ball correct for front pins because of that platform to touch the ball with, versus more edgy European figures. Guess that's why I didn;t see so many people doing pin shots at Tornados?

    Man dont take it bad, just a constructive critic.
    You just have a problem, you talk too much, sometimes you repeat a lot of thing and some people get tired and just turn off the video, try to explain 2 or 3 time by talking how to handle, how to grab the ball, how to basic, and then just do it and just show it in slow motion. But in the rest of the thing you are doing a great job :)

      He talks a lot but he gives really useful information. Yes it might be boring if you are looking for 30 sec videos "show me how to kick and I'm off to do the kicking". But this I think is more of an in-depth explanation. I imagine if he really went about every tiny specific of the shot then the video would go on for two hours :) and I would actually watch that. So please Zeke keep talking.

    why does the table only go to 8 points?

    • @zekefooser
      @zekefooser  9 років тому

      ryantube180 Typically in open matches you play 3 out of 5 games, and if you get to a 5th game, you have to win by 2 with a ceiling of 8 pts. So the 5th game could potentially end up 8-7.

    I walk away from tables like this. "V" feet suck; you need block feet for better control, I'm not sure what happened but most tables are like this and they suck, too much like living room models. I'd break them.

      Interesting you say that 'the best players are in America'. Why then have Americans hardly been world champions for the last 16 years or so? (Not talking about WCS which is held mostly in Europe, or Tornado which is mostly in US). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world_table_football_champions

    How can you explain the euro pin shot and show in the middle of the video a full turn of a the rod .. This is NOT a pin shot .. come on ... maybe you should ask to european players to explain you first how a europin shot works, and how you shot this in the middle of the goal, cause this is tottaly WRONG

    • @zekefooser
      @zekefooser  7 років тому +2

      LOL. First, sounds like you have never played on Tornado. Second, ever heard of a guy named Frederic Collignon? I really doubt you shoot a front pin shot better than him. The spin middle was a key option he used on his front pin shot on tornado. So you are being overly dramatic saying this is totally wrong.

    • @gillesbloch8556
      @gillesbloch8556 7 років тому

      Well, I know Fred, I have played with him, in the Belgium national team, and yes, I have played on Tornado. I don't meant that in a game, you shouldn't play spin, but if you make a video about the europin, you should explain the europin, nothing else. Spinning the rod is not a part of the europin shot, it's a spin shot, which is tottaly different. In your video you do explain the basics, and than trics, but not the real shot, like we play it in Europe, and more in my country, Belgium.

    • @zekefooser
      @zekefooser  7 років тому +3

      Gilles Bloch So if I explain how to shoot a pull shot series, you would have a problem with the straight option because you aren't pulling the ball? Or a John Wayne option? This video is about a front pin series. This video illustrates different options that can be incorporated into the front pin series. The straight spin shot is a far better option on the front pin series on tornado that trying to fake to a side and come back down the middle. Sure on a European table you don't have to, but it's best to show the possibilities and let the individual player formulate their own style and series. If you are a purist and only want to shoot front pin shots then more power to you.

    • @gillesbloch8556
      @gillesbloch8556 7 років тому

      Yes, you could call me a purist, basing my reaction on the title of your tutorial. If you had him called "front pin shot and variation on Tornado", I would not have made any comments (or maybe one to say it's a nice video).
