I turned 18, graduated HS, and could buy beer. I saw Jaws and the Frampton "Comes Alive" tour in the summer, and The Who with Mooney in November. Good year!

With all its darkness, i wouldn’t trade the ‘70’s for anything today can offer. What a great decade to have experienced. Especially the music. And people’s attitudes were different too. We laughed at ourselves…alot. 😂 i miss those days

In 1975 I was 14 years old. I'll always remember my father sitting in font of the TV shaking his head. Being in my early teens I just went out and hung out with my friends. Now as an adult and see what's going on I feel his pain.😢

I knew the guy on the roof of the embassy helping people onto the choppers. He was a Fire Chief in Oregon when he got home. I got out of school in '77, logged in the western forests and became a fireman. Those were the days of great bands and sad stories. Peace and goodwill to all in the New Year!

I love that about him too. No long babbling at the beginning like some reactors do.
I’ve seen one movie reaction channel where the couple literally spent about 40 minutes total yakking and it was usually about something they were clueless about. A lot of the comments were negative because they talk too much and they didn’t seem to know what they were talking about. I never watched their full reaction as I could tell it would be a waste of time.
Our Jamel gives a short introduction and his comments at the end. He straight to the point.

I was also 14 in ‘75, and like the other poster, was enjoying my teen years playing drums and rocking out! It was the year that Rush’s second album came out, “ Fly By Night” and I was hooked! But growing up outside of D.C. and having older bros and sisters, we were well aware of the political and (some) social turbulence that was going on. Thanks for all your time and work on your channel Jamal, we all appreciate you and wishing you the best t’24 dude! 👍❤️🥁🎼

I was 17 and started college that fall. What I remember the most from the news that year was the two-week period in April when the North Vietnamese and Vietcong broke through and headed southwards capturing one town after another and finally swept into Saigon. Among the most popular musicians that year: Led Zeppelin, Queen, Abba, KC & the Sunshine Band, Elton John, David Bowie. There was lots of great music on the radio - current stuff plus from the early 70s and the 60s.

Saw Jaws and was in a “land locked lake” the next week. Being in the water waiting for the boat to come back after falling off skis was, to say the least, frightening. Even though sharks obviously were not in that type of water. The view angle while in the water was identical to the movie in water angles.

1975 is at the outer fringes of my memory, I was born in 1972. The only thing on here I remember very clearly is seeing the poster for Jaws while in the movie theater and not being allowed to see it. I had to wait until I was 6, and to this day, it's one of my favorite movies.

I graduated from high school in 1975 and saw “Jaws” that summer. The timeline videos come from the news, and then, like now, news outlets focus more on terrible events than anything positive. 1975 is the year I graduated from college, with a degree in Music Education. Not easy to find teaching jobs in the Arts then. I ended up working a bunch of part-time teaching jobs my first year out of college. "We're gonna need a bigger boat!" Jaws was amazing for the time. Bruce was born and raised in my state, NJ. SNL was great back then. I guess those type of videos are always going to show the bad things that happen, as those were what made the news. Too bad.

The 70s were my formative years. Lots went on during that decade. I was living in Chattanooga then and graduated High School in 74 and went into the Army in 75.
Hoffa went missing, but he had a Chattanooga connection. Hoffa's 1964 federal trial for jury tampering and conviction in Chattanooga put the Scenic City in the national spotlight, even as the Beatles were taking America by storm that spring.
"If you're in the legal community, it's the biggest-ever Chattanooga trial," according to Maury Nicely, local attorney and author of "Hoffa in Tennessee." "This was a time when the president of the Teamsters was widely regarded as the second most powerful man - behind the president - in the United States.
I remember a new Z-28 Camaro was $5,400, cigarettes were around $0.50 a pack, gas had went from $0.32 to $0.50 a gallon. We all thought the price of gas was outrageous!
Led Zeppelin released Physical Graffiti, Aerosmith released Toys In The Attic (Walk This Way, Sweet Emotions), 10cc's I'm Not In Love (I love that song!), Jeff Beck released Blow By Blow (what a great album!), David Bowie released Fame, Earth Wind and Fire with Shining Star, Foghat with Fool For The City, to name a few great tunes during the year.
They didn't mention Ms. Fromme's better known name of Squeaky. Patty Hearst becomes Most Wanted and is arrested for armed robbery. The Unemployment Rate in the US reaches 9.2% and recession is recognized by President Ford.
Race relations (at least in the south) were terrible. Chattanooga had just emerged from race riots, and the situation remained touchy for several years. There are still some areas where a black man shouldn't go at night, and some places I wouldn't go at night. Sadly, there is usually at least one shooting there every day now. It was a great place to grow up (mostly), but it's all changed now and it's so violent. It's really sad.
I could go on and on, but that's enough to get the picture. It was an interesting time to be alive. Greg in TN 😀

I was just a kid in 1975 ( 10 years old going on 11 ) and didn’t have to many cares in the world at that time and didn’t understand what was going on in the world or even here in the country at that time either. As I grew older I gradually started to Understand what was going on in the world around me little by little and Didn’t Like what was happening around the world or even here in the States as well. I didn’t live by the Ocean so I didn’t have to worry about any Shark Attacks but this is reality for those who live in these areas by the Ocean 🌊 and Love the Ocean area for their recreational activities. I enjoyed your visit back to the year 1975 it was a time for those of us who were to young to understand the problems of the world and at home but watching this video was a great reminder from as the saying goes that I was taught growing up (that if We Forget the Past and the Mistakes We Make We Will Eventually Repeat Them Again ) in the World 🌎 !!!!! But All in All it was The Best Damn Decade I Have Ever Lived Through and I Miss It So Much More Now 😢 Peace On Earth 🌎

I was 11 years old in 1975, highlights of that time I remember is going to see JAWS 🦈 that summer and being afraid to go back to the beach. The pilot movie for the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman TV series came out that year , and I spent my summer in NYC.

I, too, was 20 in 75' and it makes me laugh when they put some of the photo's , like the first one, in black and white. It looks like pictures taken in 1875. I loved One flew Over the ....

I was a junior in HS. This takes me back. Jimmie Hoffa is rumored to be in the end zone in the Meadowlands stadium, which was under construction, covered in concrete. BTW...this was when SNL was at its best, nothing but funny.

1975 I was 17 years old graduated and started colledge in the fall. Lived in Montana so the free thinking of the 60's was just getting there because the 60's didn't get to Montana till the 70's. The boy who would be my first husband volunteered for the Marines and thought he would be going to Nam but the war endedjust before he got there and he was in the boat pull instead. There was a lot of darkness but we belived we would make the world better. Now I'm 66 and I sit and wonder sometimes what my dad and grandfather would think of the crazy world I see around me. My grandfather fought WW one and my father in WW two and I don't think they'd be very happy with what has happened with the freedom so many of their freinds died for

I was 8 in 1975 and went to see Jaws in the theater. I couldn't even sit on the dam toilet for a week without being scared of a shark biting my butt 🤣 that opening scene traumatized me. I do remember the President Ford assassination attempts.

I was 17 and pretty much into my own little world. I had no problem going into the water. But, I deidn't live near the shore. Still don't think I woulld have had a problem. It was scarry but fake. However when the Exorcist came out I could not sleep and had nightmares. That movie tramatized me. Jaws, not so much. Crazier years, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. I suspect 2024 as well. All where much, much worse.
