I'm 14 years old, and I love drawing small things. My mom always suggested I start making stickers or something like that. So, I considered it. But I didn't know how to start, plus it was also today when I started considering it. I'm HELLA SCARED, but once again, this would be a hobby and not a lifetime job, I tell myself. Thank you so much for making this video! It helped me with what and where I will buy my things. For now, I will start saving my money to afford the tools you've used. Thank you ❤
What’s awesome about you is that you’re honest and you’re real and you’re a real artist I’m tired of fake people copying other peoples art and saying it’s really easy to do bless you
I really like how you simply talk about how you started your Etsy shop and kept it very simple and actually i was searching for how to make stickers, you explained it very well, including all the costs, thank you very much💗
I’ve been pressured into getting my first job, and while I want to go out and get something out in the world, I’ve been wanting to be creative and less consumed by time and stress. And since my mom runs an Etsy store too, I figured I’d make one too! Thank you :)
Thank you for showing us how you got started. Most videos I’ve seen everything has to be perfect but starting an Etsy shop is such a learning curve and so many mistakes and learning opportunities are made. Loved the video! Keep up the great work!
Genuinely the most useful video I've watched so far, you show a bit of design, trial and error, the whole process and give a really handy breakdown of the cost of materials! Thank you! Also super cute designs 😍
I just wanna say that you are so pretty and cute, and then I realized that I look similar to you and it gave me so much confidence knowing that other people might see me the way I see you :) I hope this boosts your confidence too
Why didn't I find you the whole past year when trying to figure out on starting my own shop... I really appreciate you being honest on how much you spent on supplies and all... please do a more in depth if you haven't! Subscribed! I love your art!
Thankyou so much for this insight. I'm in the same boat, contemplating starting a sticker business as well and seeing this video only helped me feel reassured about just getting started in this process .
This is super helpful as a beginner sticker seller! I already had an Etsy store but no idea where to even begin with creating stickers, so hearing your story from beginning to end (including some mishaps you had along the way) was really insightful and encouraging! Thank you ❤
I just recently decided to start a shop because i want to help my dad pay bills and well, to help pay my college tuition n stuff. But i dont have art style yet..? I have some ideas because i always search for stationery that goes with my aesthetic but never find any so i kind of have an idea of what i want to do... just dont know where to start bc i have nothing. Not even an ipad to draw designs in. Pls help ... what should i do first?
I would just start with a sketchbook! I still feel confused about my art style sometimes, but having a sketchbook helps me experiment with different styles. It can really help you figure out what you like to create. Also, if you don’t have an iPad, there are cheap drawing tablets that can be connected to computers through USB, or if you prefer traditional mediums, you could always create something and then scan it to get a digital file! I hope this helps!
@@juliebean74 I used to use MediBang on my phone. Procreate has a paid phone app too! If you have a smartphone with an intact screen you can just use your finger for a while on that. Maybe start with digital downloads ❤️
I am also beginning to start my etsy sticker/planner shop and this was just the video i needed to motivate me further🥺 I was first worried of the start up cost I have to cover and I do not have any great background in illustration but I do enjoy seeing people make cute illustrations as well as the process it goes with. Right now, im focusing in finding my art style and producing stickers as soon as I can 🥹
Thank you for this video Helen! As someone who really wants to make custom stickers, this video gives me good guidance and some motivation as well! What I take away most is how much you seem to truly enjoy it over the whole "business" aspect of it. That is what I am aiming for too! Just for the art to get out there! Thank you and good luck with your Etsy shop!
i’ve been thinking of starting an etsy shop for so months and months and after seeing a few videos i kinda do wanna try it…but i’ve got important exams this year so i’m thinking if i do all the research now once my exams are over in june i can start my shop! this video was really helpful! thank youuuu!
I loved this so much! I’m in the process of compiling everything I need to make stickers 🙈 excited but also nervous hehe. your video def encouraged me 😬💛
hi Helen, what a cute video. I just LOVE seeing the process, it makes me so curious about how things work out. Thanks for sharing this. What I would find interesting is how much you make out of it. Maybe you can share that, too if you havent already? Because thats the first video I am watching of ur channel ;)
You can fold paper towel into squares wet it lightly microwave for one min sit clogged ink cartridge on it for 30 seconds or so it will open them up print on regular paper first to make sure it's good
Okay wow you’re really pretty❤️ now that that’s out the way i’m pretty sure we have the same printer so that’s refreshing to see. Also your art style *chefs kiss*
Idk if this would've worked, but for the circle punch dilemma - maybe you could've used the circle punch as a guide and taken an X-acto knife and cut them while they're still held in the punch, that way it's like a stencil. I like your logo and I also like that you talk about your struggles. This was a super informative video and I really appreciate it!
I want to open a sticker store too and I know that the first stickers will be purchased by my family and friends 😂 this videos inspire me to not be that afraid, but I still struggle. And what kind of stickers do you sell?
shipping is the scariest part for me! i dont wanna do it wrong lol but i have everything (except product photos, still working on that one!) i need to open up!
Oh lady. Let me thank you so much! You’re the first one that I find on YT thai literally starts with nothing (I don’t have the printer but it’s okay). I wanted to know of it was doable with little money and no mashine - I really want a Cricut one day, but this is not the day ahah-. So thank you for giving me hope! [I’ll continue to sell things on Vinted just to reach a good amount of money and maybe to buy a used cricut as well]
Thanks for the video. It looks like this would be a fun way to make money. Your stickers are adorable and I wish you the best. If you don't mind, make a video showing how to make stickers.
Hi! I'm moving in the next few weeks, but will be starting two etsy shops very soon! I loved your video and am excited for your journey! Can't wait to follow you on this adventure.
hi Helen, I'm from Indonesia, I want to ask: 1. How long have you been making and selling your stickers? 2. In the production of 1 sticker, how much does the production cost reach the consumer? 3. Has the price of your 1 sticker been covered, including the benefits you get? 4. what is the specialty of the sticker that you make so that consumers can be interested in buying / must have it while you have to face other competitors who of course can be cheaper than yours, because they are mass-produced. 5. Is the printer ink you are using waterproof? 6.why not choose a cameo sticker cutting machine is the cameo more expensive than cricket? Sorry, I ask a lot of questions because I will be starting a small-scale printing business. By making stickers like that, I got a lot of references, such as designs and so on, but after I calculated the production costs, the selling price did not match the price, I also lost to factory-made stickers. cheaper . thanks for the answer, please advise
Oh dang you practically stole that cricut! Nice! Your art is adorable I wish you all the success! Honestly little videos of you creating your stickers and showing your small business on TikTok might not hurt. I see soooo many small business sticker makers on there promoting their business and just having fun really. Tiktok is a strange beast...but there really is a little niche for just about everything on there.
I actually created a TikTok account, I’m just still getting used to posting on it! I have a few sticker videos up on it. It’s @helenmabelmakes if you want to check it out!
So, a circut machine cuts the paper? Could you do this without that machine in the beginning? I would love to know more about this machine since I notice it in craft videos, but I don’t know exactly what it does
I know I'm a bit late, but your stickers are so cute!! I've been wanting to start an etsy shop myself, but would need help from my grandma since I'm sixteen. I would be selling crocheted plushies, but am wanting to add some free stickers into it with a thank you note❤
Helen this was a great upload and your voice/editing really set the tone! I want to open my own sticker/stationary online store in a few months and your vid was pure inspo :) Keep it up!
