- Gorans Ford Cortina is one of the fastest cars on the street! making over 1400HP and running 7 second 1/4 mile ! but its not only a great track car but also one that can be Daily driven, whilst still scaring the life out of any passenger willing to go for a ride. This car is also running one of the only Stroker Barra ford motors in the country.
Note/
All footage was taken on private property, Action footage was taken at Racetracks & legal racing events. All other content was taken on private roads & edited to seem fast or loud. at no point where any road rules broken during filming.
Can’t help thinking this thing is a real streeter able to lay it down with the likes of GTRs and other high powered awd vehicles. Absolutely has cracked the code well done.
My first car was a 4.1L/4spd manual TD cortina (mildly worked, mild cam, 350 holy, extractors and exhaust) and it went well and always thought a barra/turbo in the cortina would be the ultimate build. This is my dream car, what a beast.
Haha !! Yeah.. I used to have one with the factory sunroof (LTD badge on bonnet)...They went well in a straight line...but stopping and turning....not so much.
I had the TD 4:1 litre 4 speed as well.
Was going to attempt to put a 289 V8 into it then thought the better of it.
@@ianm6204 Nice.... a mate of mine actually shoehorned the Ford 4.9 V8 into his. It worked really well because the V8 is shorter than the 6.
Handling was improved significantly....until he slid it into a lamp post....
@@ianm6204 they came out factory in South Africa with a v8(289 Windsor if I'm not mistaken) pretty standard engine swap, works very well for the Cortina with lots of them done. I've seen 302's and 351's put in them as well.
I did the same except i had twin side drafts. She went hard but still 1100hp short of this barra! They were amazing burnout machines though, my dad wasn't too happy with me haha.
This is the best thing ever!!! My uncle in Liverpool had one of these when I was a lad, it had a 1.4 litre engine and a vinyl room.
This one has definitely been upgraded.

Imagine if the staff at Ford knew what was going to become of this classic , it brings a tear to my eye in happiness that it's stayed 6cyl and still running a ford engine (give or take a fair few go fast bits). My BF2 xr6 turbo was rear ended 8yrs ago but it's heart will live on in my latest project the bf tonner. Love the vids and thanks for sharing your weapon of choice with us all❤️💪👍✌️

Awesome bloke! Sadly i sold my FG XR6T,just wasn't a practical daily driver with 3 kids and keeping it in showroom condition out in the country=more time spent cleaning it than driving it and enjoying it. I had my fun with it,i miss the hell out of it,but i dont miss the fuel costs and high maintenance. My dad had a TC cortina with a fully worked 250 crossflow,all the bells and whistles were on it,it was insanely fast. That is a nice build bloke,crazy amount of hp.Mint 👌👍

Gotta say as a Holden man always had a soft spot for the cortina. Nice shape right mid size car. Brother had 1 when I was still a whipper snipper and loved riding in it.

Gorans Ford Cortina is one very quick car beautifully presented I've seen the car run at roll racing at Queensland Raceway
I’m fortunate enough to say I’ve been for a lap in this thing… hands down the fastest car I have EVER and probably ever will be in… the thing is an absolute bullet!!!!! The G force alone when it comes on boost is almost enough to crush your rib cage

My 4.l TE Cortina use to keep stretching and cracking. Through the C pillar to the boot corner and the front was starting to walk away from the rear at the floor pan/front of rockers to inner guard. Was near a inch gap between the rockers and guard.
Think the TC/TD was a stronger shell standard

My dad had a brand new tc xle 4.1 auto, white with vinyl roof. Lnc803 or close to that in Vic. Love to know if it’s still alive. Great memories as a kid.
My first car was a Mk3 cortina with the 1.3 . 0-100kph in probably 15 seconds.....it was a beast!

This is an awesome tough daily driver. I would suggest getting the twin head light grill just to go next level. These cars are not cheap to buy anymore. Back in the day, I owned models mark2, TC, TD and finally a TF which I converted to 302 Windsor donk. Surprisingly, the Windsor fits in easily with a kit from Castlemaine Rod Shop. I was recently thinking of starting another Cortina project possibly with a Barra but then I noticed the price of everything sky rocketed due to a certain biological event, so thought to wait until it all settles down again.

I bought a cortiina for 250 bucks in 91 just for the 4 months rego . It was neat but the 4 cylinder engine was clapping I gave it to a mate .
Spewing I didn't keep it not k owing that there was a engine I the future that would have made it a street weapon ..love barras

I restored the the classic but dropped in a stroked 289
The interior and exterior looks stock which keeps it looking a sleeper
Ha ha the word sleeper brings back memories. When I phoned "Trading Post" to put my 302 TF Cortina in, back when the internet was not so huge, they rejected the use of that word when I explained to them what it meant.
Sad thing is our Kona n performance gives it a good run.. sad but true lol

I had a 77 Chrysler centura . Fully worked 265 Hemi. Could never get traction. Nowadays I drive a cx5 that wouldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding…

Yeah they don’t mind rusting that’s for sure! And the old iron head 250 lol! Don’t get me started… however! Properly restored with something decent sitting under the bonnet they are a neat car
