Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.

I had no idea that Rhino was selling Monkees stuff again. I haven't seen them sell Monkees stuff since the 90s on Rhinos site. I didn't realize Rhino moved it all to an official Monkees site now. Please make more of this boxed set! I'd love to have one for the HD episodes and all the extras, but I really can't pay $2,000 on eBay for it.

I love the content and thought put into this set. But mine had a cracked hologram cover. I was so bummed out to have paid so much. Again, the content is incredible!

I never stopped loving you, Mickey!!! You remember me. I wrote you that letter sprayed with Heaven Scent perfume. Michelle and I ran home from the mail and hid in her bed wondering what would happen when you and Davy (Michelle's guy) found out we LOVED you!!! Still have the Monkees records that we cut out of the back of cereal boxes. It was the ONLY day we got to eat in the living room. 11:00 Saturday am meant chocolate gravy and biscuits eaten in the living room floor in front of the TV from plates sitting on newspaper that protected the green shag carpet. Life was sweet. And I loved you cuz I loved Pleasant Valley Sunday! It's still on every playlist I make. I've always loved your voice and you seem like a roll with a smile type of guy. Thank you for the sweet sweet memories.
FYI- I'm single again, but I lost the notebook with all our wedding plans, we can just do Vegas.

Everyone keeps saying that it's worth every penny and I'm sure that it is but my goodness that's a whole lot of pennies! Last time I checked it's in the neighborhood of $300. Used copies on eBay are not much better and sometimes even more! Not all of us can afford such a hefty price tag. If theg they would just sell the individual seasons like they did with the DVDs and keep the price down to something reasonable then they would sell a lot more

I have two sets and one is a sealed and unopened set.
Why can't they re-release this set in a standard, affordable Blu-ray set? It's nearly impossible to obtain this now, and I think it's bullshit that those beautiful restored episodes aren't available anywhere else! They're not streaming or purchasable, hell, I can't even find a Blu-ray rip anywhere!
So, if you're a fan of The Monkees' music and maybe you've also seen and loved Head and you wanna watch the original show, just spend around $1,000 for a used copy of a long out-of-print set that made headlines for arriving damaged and had missing discs in the first place! Good luck!!

No 5.1 remastered mix on the tunes played each episode. Disappointing! But the videos look great!
If you want 5.1 surround sound mixes buy the DVD those have them for sure

Mine came in on Friday January 20th I got #08537. Pretty cool set mine came in with no damage and no missing pieces.
Lucky you because mine was damaged and Warner Music won't respond with any details on how to exchange it. Twice they sent me a ticket number on an auto email for my return. It's been almost a month. I am very upset. And how can anyone have a number less than 10,000? Didn't they sell out in 2016? My number is in the 5000s and one person said in a comment below that they have a number 10012. I am very confused.

Why not in dvd aswell?? Some people don't have blu ray.
The DVD's have been around for a long time, but only by individual season and they are not the remastered versions. That said you should really get a Blu Ray player if you can. You can get them pretty cheap now
Cool Micky has number 15! I have number 05725 lol Love this set I got one of the ripped boxes so I sent in for the un-ripped box. So I just keep the blu rays in the ripped box and store the newer replacement. So cool that Micky loves this set!
