This was my first festival and did as much research as I could. At the end of the day, you have to experience the pain to understand it. Imagine spending $2,000 for a Hotel, the entire price for the 4 day pass, merch, food, travel, gas, etc. only to find out that they never leave enough space of time for the end of one performance like Anthrax, for example then immediately start the next big one. I left Anthrax EARLY into that amazing setlist that I'm kicking myself in the balls over doing to see the almighty Judas Priest. THAT DELIVERED. But the most offensive disgusting thing about the entire festival was Iron Maiden. Bruce sounded good. The guitars sounded good but everything was altered for Nicko McBrain, a 72 year old who's recovering from a stroke. He couldn't do the songs justice and they thrown off by it. To do "Caught Somewhere In Time" justice takes a very in shape and sound drummer as it's the hardest song to play in Maiden's catalog from a drumming standpoint. But the worst of all is this: 5 songs from Senjetsu. And it wasn't the shorter songs, it was the long boring 7 to 11 minute songs. 39 total minutes of Senjetsu filler compared to 35 total minutes of Somewhere In Time killer. It was truly horrifying to watch. This was a band that had standards for live gigs. The audience at that show had the excitement of KISS's farewell show. In fact, F U Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden is the new KISS. Let Eddie and all the merch keep that band from obscurity just like it worked for KISS. Meanwhile no one is listening to your boring shit music. NEVER GO TO FESTIVALS. JUST CONCERTS AT VENUES. IF YOU MUST GO, ONLY PAY FOR THAT ARTIST FOR THE DAY THEY ARE PLAYING OTHERWISE IT'S A COMPLETE RIPOFF. EDIT: AND YOU'RE RIGHT, ALL THE PEOPLE WHO GO THERE DON'T RESPECT ANYONE'S SPACE AND ARE THAT GENERIC CALIFORNIA A-HOLE THAT WHEN DRUNK, IS INSUFFERABLE. I HAVE A BAD ANKLE SO I'M IN A PORTABLE SEAT RIGHT UP AGAINST A GAIT BENEATH A TREE. I'M EARLY FOR PRIEST TO MAKE SURE I GET A GOOD SEAT. THEN THE SHOW STARTS AND THIS ASSHOLE WITH HIS BEER IN ONE HAND COMES UP AND BULLIES HIS WAY INTO MY VIEW OF THE CONCERT. HE TRIED TO BULLY ME INTO STANDING WHEN I COULDN'T AT THAT POINT IN THE DAY. I JUST SHOUTED, I HAVE A BAD ANKLE, I NEED THE SEAT, YOU CAME AT THE LAST MINUTE TO GET A VIEW OF THE STAGE THAT I'VE WAITED HOURS FOR, AND TO MOVE AND GET OUT OF HERE. WAITING OVER TWO HOURS TO HAVE A HALF-DECENT VIEW OF THE STAGE WITH BARS IN MY MY EYES AND STILL, SOMEONE WILL ALWAYS TRY TO BULLY YOU OUT OF A SPOT YOU'D EARNED BY GETTING THERE FIRST. I DIDN'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT. HE GOT THE FUCK OUT OF THERE AND I SET AN EXAMPLE THAT IF YOU'VE WAITED IN ONE SPOT TO SEE A BAND FOR HOURS, ENFORCE THAT FACT. HE WAS NO BETTER THAN ME AND I REMINDED HIM OF THAT FACT.
Yeah I heard Maiden didn't even play Run to the Hills! I just saw Yngwie Malmsteen in a small venue the other night and I loved it. Unless a festival REALLY blows me away I'll stick to individual concerts. Thanks for watching 👊🤘
Dude I went all four days just got out were else are you going to see motley crue slayer slipknot iron maiden judas preist disturbed and way more for 550$ 😂😂😂
Exactly! I spent $200 on a GA ticket to maiden in LA last Tuesday, just maiden! I spent $500 for a 4 day wristband and saw maiden again with slayer motley crue, Tom morello, slipknot, anthrax, etc for $500!!! What a deal!
You get to a point in life where enough is enough. The older you get, the less bullshit your willing to tolerate and deal with. Jam bands suck no matter what, sober or non-sober....
Friday was worth it. $200 per ticket for 1 day..a little pricey....yeah. That said it was about 85 degrees on Friday. Was it crowded, yeah. Vendor prices inflated...oh, yeah! I probably wouldn't have gone, normally, but my 13 year old daughter loves Slipknot, so my wife and I thought we would give her her first concert experience. I really never got into Slipknot, but holy shit! They put on one of hell of a show. Friday was definitely worth it. If they come back to Sac, I would definitely go see them again. My wife went Thursday, but wasn't all that impressed.
I hear ya, brother. If a band I really want to see is playing, I might buy a single day pass in order to see them, and maybe a few others, but then I would have to leave. Yes, age is catching up with me, also, but I would also try to go see a band I really wanted to.
With all due respect, you look old enough to have enjoyed many years of the heavy metal crazy crowds. I could never be into heavy metal & never understood. Just not my thing. I was more into Motown, Moody Blues, Jazz. Love 3 day Jazz Festuvals. Gor to see Smokey Robinson & Aretha Franklin perform live at Saratoga Springs Jazz Festival some years ago. They were both Awesome. I'm overdue to return. I live funky music, chill, I love disco, is fun & many world music. I love music to inspires me, nor feels like someone crashing down on me, screaming at me. BUT... I did finally realize what a total release of energy Heavy Metal gave people way ti express & met one of the AC/DC Band members many years ago, few decades, lol, a very sweet, very nice guy, feeling nervous because he was going on blind date that night. Have yoursrlf some heavy metal parties in your home, if you can. Probably not all night long, in case neighbors call cops on you! Btw, I really appreciate all you do to honor memory of lives no longer with us!❤❤
I still love heavy metal and rock music. I just went to a rock concert last night. I'm going to see Metallica three times next year one of them at a festival in Las vegas. Thanks for watching.
I am a fellow sacramento resident. I never went to Aftershock. I never could get behind the concept of paying a ton of money just to see a few bands I like. I honestly feel the concert organizers made it four days just to squeeze as much cash from people.
I paid $500 for a wristband that got me into maiden, slayer, anthrax, motley crue, Pantera, Tom morello.... try buying individual tickets for all of those bands and you will be paying over $1000
I have been to every aftershock except the first one which was not in October so it was too hot. Believe it or not the best performance of all the bands was done by kiss. Yes kiss. The show was insane. Very talented that kiss line up was. Slipknot 2024 was right up there with kiss playing only old shit. I have seen kiss a few times before and actually my first concert was kiss in 1979 at the cow palace. But they were tight when they played at aftershock. Genes bass had the ground shaking literally.
I'm glad you brought up the point of old age yes it caught w me lol .I feel you 😂😂😂 but I'll try to go to more concerts i.kno famous celebrities are coming to Michigan McCauley Caulken and Fletch's Chevy Chase! This year in December plus a band called Black SAbbitch a black Sabbath cover band but all females!
All the bands you mentioned kicked ass. You forgot Body Count, The Warning, ICP…. “There’s only 6 or 7 bands per day!!! I want to see.” All 7 were great. Times 4 days.
I was there on Thursday and it was great. It took only 15 mins to get out of the parking lot. Bought a slice of pizza for $11 and it was huge. I saw zero fights all day. You can't expect to be up front and not be squished by smelly people and have crowd surfers up on the crowd at a festival. Why do you say of course it was Pennywise? I've seen more fights at a metal show then a punk show. I've been going to shows for almost 4 decades and won't stop
Mah Gaud! R&R aint clean. Try 150,000 sweaty people in summer. I went to the Sedelia Rockfest 1975. It was in.....sane. I already wrote of the only violence I suffered but yeah Ive seen a bunch.😮
@@EdCollects Hey Ed! I looked up that Sedalia Fest. It was 1974. Opps! Ok I was 14yrs old. It cost me $20. They only sold so many tickets but 10s of 1000s just kept coming anyway & overwhelmed the fair grounds.
I was there for all the days. Didn't witness a single fight. As for getting close to the stage. You can get there no problem, just have to do it early enough. All stages have huge screens on either side and all shows are filmed, so even if you waiting super early, you can watch the show going on, on another stage. At 54 my feet did hurt as well but c'mon dude, that's just a small price to pay if you really love the music. Also you can go for as few days as you want. You don't have to buy tix for all 4 days. Seriously, I think you just need a hug, my dude.
That's cool man, glad you enjoyed it. For the most part I'm gonna stick to individual concerts. Every band I wanted to see this year I've seen multiple times.
Us festival 83 heavy metal day - 500 thousand people - 113 thst day. Brutal is an understament. They found dead people in the aftermath. But the tickets were 20 dollars. I will never go to a festival again. We see the metal bands in smaller places nowadays. Better shows, more songs, right in your face full volume.
😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ sorry for after shock has left a bad taste in your mouth, you got me beat, concert wise I've seen over 375 concert where you've seen 500... The Pish concert you're you are referring to to drug you're referring to... "LYSERGIC ACID DIETHYLAMIID TARATRATE NUMBER 25 FROM THE ERGOT OF THE RYE FROM THE."... THE END 😂
Its best to go see the bands you want to see and then bounce on out ots not worth going all day i went on Friday all day and left my buddy was dehydrated and i felt bad for my buddy we didn't get to see Slipknot i was more worried about my friend
Or pick a day or two and go to them. You have to expect to be on your feet all day at a festival. Second off it’s California!!!! It’s gonna be hot. If you don’t dress for that then that’a on you brotha but it’s always gonna be 4 days for now on because they can get more people to come and more bands to play. Like I went this year and saw none of that. So idk what bands you were seeing but none of the things you said happened at aftershock 2024.
Everyone had the greatest time minus you dont go to any other metal or rock shows if your gonna cry about i feel like youre gonna complain about how they sounds live
I only went Saturday, and I have no complaints besides the price of food, booze, and as for people in the area with thier rudeness and their morals have gone down the toilet I don’t talk to anyone unless I run into I know. I had a good time lol and as for parking I had no problem finding it and he didn’t pay for shit you could’ve literally parked off Richard Boulevard after you passed the police station and at the corner of chef’s toys.. lol sure the way the world is going for festivals is getting hectic and very chaotic with how many people attend, trash and just everything else involved..I had no issue plus I didn’t buy any of the food or booze I brought three cones to smoke on and I had a blast and for 75 bucks I think it was pretty badass lol 😊 as for trying to find a good spot to see the performances you gotta be on your toes and know how to work around the crowd. It’s not that hard lol
Pusssssssyyyyyyyuy. I just came from aftershock 2024 and i look like a leopard from all the bruises i have lol 😂 aftershock is for the people who wanna party like it’s Woodstock and mosh in the pits of hell to great music. Go to an amphitheater pay out the assss for front row seats. Metal just ain’t metal if you aren’t moshing to it! O and it was 78 degrees Friday 😎 but I’ve been going since 2018 love here lol 😂
Ya its hard when your older and the young people are moving all over and you c.ant keep up. I went to this one for 3 days and was in VIP and that was packed as well. They need to control the alcohol consumption people should smoke weed at least your not an a hole
God your reasons for not going are just plain wack. Cause youre gonna be in crowds? Cause youre not gonna get a pick? Cause you cant be at the front? I was at the front all 4 days this weekend and had no issues whatsoever. Also youd rather stay home and watch a dvd? 😂
What can I say other than I'm getting older. Everyone I would have wanted to see there I've seen many times. Like I said Metallica's The Only Thing Worth me going. There were a lot of weak bands that I never want to see.

No one is crying. I still go to concerts, I'm seeing a guitar legend on Tuesday. I just need to be by the stage for bands I love. That's not really possible at Aftershock with so many stages spread out. You don't have to be rude.
Would never shank someone for having an opinion i understand the getting kicked in the head by crowd surfers and the spilt beer but it's a concert with lots of people most are cool phone thieves suck but rest should be expected at any concert sorry you had such a terrible experience cool you said don't blame the event coordinators but still dude stuff you complained about happen at every rock show I've been to a couple concerts myself and it's all about perspective don't look at the negative focus on the positive and the negative will be way in background out of thought so you can enjoy the moment as the other people that paid also enjoy it just my 2 cents not meaning to be a dick

I love your honesty bro, anyone talking shit is just lying to themselves.
@@stephencook1666 I've seen them all already.
You get to a point in life where enough is enough. The older you get, the less bullshit your willing to tolerate and deal with. Jam bands suck no matter what, sober or non-sober....
"I'm old. I hate everything but Matlock."
I so hear you. I can't stand these events any more.
20 years ago I would have loved it I'm sure.
I hear ya, brother. If a band I really want to see is playing, I might buy a single day pass in order to see them, and maybe a few others, but then I would have to leave. Yes, age is catching up with me, also, but I would also try to go see a band I really wanted to.
If there weren't as many stages I'd like it more. It's hard to get close to the stage when there are so many people.
@@EdCollects So very true.
Walking through such large crowds feels like a enigma maze.
Right?
I live here in Sacramento too. born, and raised I support this. To hot 🔥 it was hot today.
Nice! ✌️✌️🙏🙏👊
I am a fellow sacramento resident. I never went to Aftershock. I never could get behind the concept of paying a ton of money just to see a few bands I like.
I honestly feel the concert organizers made it four days just to squeeze as much cash from people.
I paid $500 for a wristband that got me into maiden, slayer, anthrax, motley crue, Pantera, Tom morello.... try buying individual tickets for all of those bands and you will be paying over $1000
@@ManuKULU Thats nice.
@@GregD..666 I hate Pennywise fans. I've seen the band 6 or 7 times and their fans are horrible bullies.
You'd love download mate in England mate.
Mah Gaud! R&R aint clean. Try 150,000 sweaty people in summer. I went to the Sedelia Rockfest 1975. It was in.....sane. I already wrote of the only violence I suffered but yeah Ive seen a bunch.😮
I can't even imagine that many people! Holy!
@@EdCollects Hey Ed! I looked up that Sedalia Fest. It was 1974. Opps! Ok I was 14yrs old. It cost me $20. They only sold so many tickets but 10s of 1000s just kept coming anyway & overwhelmed the fair grounds.
I went for all 4 days. Best time of my life.
Nice! I'm glad you loved it!
@@EdCollects I'd never been before. I'm going next year. Maybe you'll be of a different mindset then. Peace.
@ShinAdamSmasher I'll have to see the lineup, I'll never say never.
@@EdCollects coolness! I'll look for updates.
@@EdCollects Fair enough.
Covid has me fucked up still from 3 months ago rebound sinus infection from hell won't go away 😈🤧😩
Oh that sucks you didn't get to see Slipknot. I still haven't seen them yet
I live close by too, I got a free ticket and seen my fav evanescence I loved it, after that I left
Maybe that's the way to do it! 👊👊🤘🤘✌️
WAAAAAAAA WAAAAA SHOW DIDN'T MEET MY EXPECTATIONS
You missed the best slipknot show ever.
Aftershit show. I agree. Still too hot. Prices are too high & too many damn people
Yes, yes, and yes 😃👍👍
Or pick a day or two and go to them. You have to expect to be on your feet all day at a festival. Second off it’s California!!!! It’s gonna be hot. If you don’t dress for that then that’a on you brotha but it’s always gonna be 4 days for now on because they can get more people to come and more bands to play. Like I went this year and saw none of that. So idk what bands you were seeing but none of the things you said happened at aftershock 2024.
I just think festivals aren't for me anymore. I'll never stop going to concerts at smaller venues.
Dude the people sweating was so gross I got slimed 1000x
Out of 130 bands there might be a few that are actually any good, I'm 55 I would never go to a stand up concert.
Yeah I'll be 50 next year, I get it!
There you go! That's awesome, I'm glad you had fun! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Fr
Pusssssssyyyyyyyuy. I just came from aftershock 2024 and i look like a leopard from all the bruises i have lol 😂 aftershock is for the people who wanna party like it’s Woodstock and mosh in the pits of hell to great music. Go to an amphitheater pay out the assss for front row seats. Metal just ain’t metal if you aren’t moshing to it! O and it was 78 degrees Friday 😎 but I’ve been going since 2018 love here lol 😂
Tough guy on the internet. You wouldn't say that to my face.
The smaller the venue the better
@@larryzigler6812 yes!

Ya its hard when your older and the young people are moving all over and you c.ant keep up. I went to this one for 3 days and was in VIP and that was packed as well. They need to control the alcohol consumption people should smoke weed at least your not an a hole
Cool… you missed out on an awesome time!
You're probably right. Oh well, I saw a guitar master in a small venue in Roseville last night and I had a blast.
Is this guy for real ???
Certified hater right here 😢
Waaaaaa waaaaaa im a soft piss baby
Sound like you just need to understand that's a metal festival!
@@TAMCLunchboxx oh, thanks, now I understand!
Grow up and not worry about other people

If you go to a band that you know that is of the ones that smokes why go there
I disagree
Too bad you missed out
You sound like you like being in front of the t.V watching shows
Is there something wrong with that?
Well I'm glad you werent there , grow some balls dude its a concert. If you cant handle it than dont go . You missed out
Wow, you made a whole video for people to not give a shit about.
Joke's on you, fool, you didn't care but you still clicked on it and made me money. Have a bad day.
BTW, that St Germain band in your Playlist is hipster bulls**t. You have horrible taste in music.
Such a bad take lol. Just stay home, you don't enjoy live music. This whole rant was just complaining that you don't like concerts. It was a dope festival, sweet sets, perfect weather. You missed out and we didn't miss you.
@@KumeTheWolf good for you! I'll make sure you approve every video I make from now on, I'm SO sorry!
man you really cried on the internet about this? go or don't. I'm personally sad that due to rome burning I couldn't afford to go. You could afford to go and cried about why you're not..... laughable.
No one is crying. I still go to concerts, I'm seeing a guitar legend on Tuesday. I just need to be by the stage for bands I love. That's not really possible at Aftershock with so many stages spread out. You don't have to be rude.
BOOMER
Cry me a river
Darn, I was hoping you made videos but you don't. Figures. Nice mugshot.
You're exactly the type of scumbag I try to avoid at concerts. I don't wanna get shanked.
@@WMFJames69 like I said, I've been to over 500 concerts. I know what to expect. How would you respond if someone told you to cry them a river?
@EdCollects i fly down from Seattle this was my 4th one and think it is fine very well but not really a scumbag my friends will tell you I'm more of an asshole than a scumbag scumbags are sleazy and sneaky I'm more upfront
