“Two different styles of guitar playing” *shows clip of Ray calmly playing* *shows another clip but it’s Frank being a ball of energy and playing intensely*
Bailee Mitchell well, ray speaks sometimes and gerard’s just like “omg i’m gonna kill someone ugh” and then he’s like “hEY HEY HEY HEY NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SPEAK ILL INTERRUPT EVERY SINGLE PERSOn EVER”
Wait what is this thing about “it’s not a band it’s an idea”?? I’m relatively new to the fandom but I still don’t know what that means???? Can someone explain?????
Its funny how Frank is always breaking guitars with his crazy awesome antics and it takes him a while to find a durable guitar while Ray is over there is playing a guitar he got 17 years ago XD We can see who's the most energetic.. lol
That's not remotely true. He plays a lot of Gibsons, and in this video he's playing them though boutique Metropoulos and Friedman amps, both of which are pretty pricey. The Tube Screamer is pretty bog standard yes, but he's also got a fair number of more rare and exotic pedals he's used both in MCR and in his own home rig. Definitely inaccurate to say he doesn't have a lot of fancy expensive gear. It'd be more true to say he doesn't *need* fancy expensive gear to sound good.
it actually gives me hope because I thought it would be around $3000 or somthinh but him saying it might be worth around $300 shocked me and knowing how it sounds it's a pretty good fucking deal
ray moving on stage: *head bangs, walks around a little, mostly fixated on playing awesome guitar riffs* frank moving on stage: *does a head-stand, kicks stuff (including Gerard)*
one of my favorite things about mcr is that there's no weak member. Sometimes like the bassist or the calmer one is viewed as the weak link in bands, but with mcr you can clearly see that each member is crucial to the sound, feel, and quality of the band. Truly a world-class act
Danger Days is so good, I would love to have seen what would have been next. I love Hesitant Alien, most of the songs really grab me and speak to me, but MCR has magic. Anytime they want to write again, I'm interested.
Ray fucking loves the ehx pog he is always talking about it when i met him in LA i asked what distortion he uses and he only told me the tube screamer from Ibánez and then he started talking about the pog I love that guy
I love the part where Ray's talking about his amps. "Basically I like to play expensive boutique amps that sound and look really similar to Marshalls but which aren't actually Marshalls. Also I run them through a couple of Marshall 412s." Absolute legend
Nah, the ones he named are actually pretty common with gearheads. The TubeScreamer (TS9) in particular is probably the first or second most well known pedal of all time (the other contender being the Boss DS-1).
@@zackakai5173 Yeah. I'm sure to people who are really into this stuff, it's not that hard. I play guitar and play with an electric guitar and literally one pedal. (A Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal), so I understand a little.
It's hilarious how I have all this boutique expensive gear, and these guys use all the normal boss and ibanez pedals. They sound amazing, I think I need to spend less on pedals and more on amps and playing!!
***** that was very well said. at the moment i am playing guitar and realizing that all the high end gear will get you nowwhere, its how you play guitar
For sure man. Don't get me wrong, there are some phenomenal boutique pedals and amps out there, but I'm currently running a used TS9 I picked up dirt cheap into one of the new Marshall DSL combos that I got on sale and it sounds like a million bucks for your classic rock tones. On the other hand I built a clone of a Revv G3 that I use for metal and it sounds amazing for some Metallica or A7X, so it's really about whatever works for your budget and what kind of tones you're trying to achieve.
This video was posted on the decade anniversary of the inception of my chemical romance. Gerard wrote “skylines and turnstiles” on 9/11 about 9/11 Their catalogue is absolutely flawless Still manage to be one of my favorites even this many years later
@DedicatedStarkid Cause Ray, Frank, and Mikey are talking about specific gear to play, but Gerard doesn't have much to say but "uhhh, I use a microphone."
"We each have a little bit of a different style of guitar playing" 3:17 Ray: wow *head nods* I love my instrument, I've been still to long tho so lets go over here Frank: Fuk yeh HeAd BaNg lets j u m p
They're such talented guys who are fortunately in the same group. Their chemistry, even when they're separated is still strong, i can tell that they really enjoy making music together
As someone who’s trying to launch herself in a mini music career, all of their words are so inspiring. It’s very helpful taking in the information they’re giving and using it daily to produce something that sounds badass in the end. I will forever be grateful for this incredible, inspiring band ❤️
Awesome set-up! And great for other musicians to know - I've been looking for some good bass pedals for ages, and Mikey's never wrong, I'm sure! Also... rosary beads around Gerard's wrist??? Interesting...
oh, I heard " sing" and I forgot about it, to listen to the guys.. haha , frankie look cool . ! :D Ray is guitar hero . Gerad with red hair is God and Mikey is for me best bass player in this world. ! :)
Seriously never saw this until now and I was literally thinking to myself that I wanted to build my rig by A/B-ing an Orange and a Vox (though I kind of viewed Vox as better for crunchy sounds thank to Tom Delonge).
It's funny how versatile gear can be, I always associate Vox with super clean tones because the Beatles. But then again I threw an Invader in the bridge of my Les Paul years ago because Synyster Gates used one and it sounded amazing, so it was a pickup I associated with metal, only for me to recently find out Tom Delonge used one in a humbucker Strat on a lot of the early blink stuff. Go figure.
“Two different styles of guitar playing”

Lmao that sounds like mcr
playing leads vs playing rythm
Everyone's being hardcore onstage and then there's gee in a poncho
Hanna Boucher he's the only one that can make it work
he is the only man to look so nice singing in a poncho
I'M SO HAPPY THAT RAY AND MIKEY TALK IN THIS BECAUSE IT'S NORMALLY JUST FRANK AND GERARD IN 'MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE' INTERVIEWS

I love how Ray doesn’t have all those fancy, expensive gears. Just plug and play. His amazing sound is truly skill-driven.
he legit plays gibson les pauls, do you not know how expensive most of those are
@@slaterdeflow That's actually a Les Paul copy. He does play Gibsons occasionally, but his main one is the copy.

Well. I mean there's Conventional Weapons, that technically counts.
well, now we could be even closer

Mikey's explanation was so perfect with the firewood.
Yeah, he uses that analogy in other interviews too. The firewood thingy 😂💕
It's funny how they really reversed the interview so rather than Gerard talking the whole time we have the others talking the whole time lol

woah cant believe ray used that same guitar since he was a 15/16 thats awesome

No clue what they're talking about for the last 3/4 but I like hearing them talk so happily.
