Grant seems like the guy you would be friends with and then you will find out he is incredibly eccentric and will be knocking on your door at 3 in the morning asking if you wanna go for a jog and steal a camel from a zoo.
I like this a lot because you can hear that Gerard really loves what he does and for once this was a scernario where he wasn't the "big star" or the center of attention in the room.
I never knew how sweet and hilarious Grant Morrison is until now, I've only ever known him as Korse, the villain from Danger Days, and a legendary comic book writer who inspired Gerard and was his friend.
@@marinasotine3397 no came out as bi last month to my friends and family finally. A lot of self hatred and supremely anxiety riddled and I just had to drop that weight you know. I'm too old for that shit. Lol
I've loved MCR and Gerard Way since I was in middle school. In the past 6 months, I've read All Star Superman, Flex Mentallo, New X Men, and Grant's Batman run, listened to the 4 hour Kevin Smith interview with Grant, and in general fallen in love with Grant Morrison. To see Gerard and Grant be close friends is shattering my psyche right now you guys
+RAVETIME!RAVETIME! RAVETIME! (Feli) hell yeah it was. At this point I've loved each and every thing Morrison has written, even the perceived "bad" ones
While this is like 2 years late, I would also recommend checking out Kevin Smith's interview with Gerard and Mikey Way. It's 2 separate vids about 2 hours each.
while people may think that he wasnt being very sensitive about it, i get what grant is saying from around 13 minutes onwards. young people are given all this doom and gloom, however subconsciously it may be, we're fed this doom, this dark, evil world and expect us to take it all, as well as the shit we get in our personal lives. they expect us to deal with this dark world without marking ourselves or letting it affect us., like the adults do. but we can't, because we haven't been taught how to take it. i dont know, it may just be me but he's making an honest statement about society and i relate to that so much. im so thankful for this interview.
I am a massive fan of Grant Morrison, and I am very excited about Gerard in his up and coming comics. I'm glad they both got a chance to speak, and I'm especially glad that Gerard has such an amazing mentor.
Hahaa he is SOO right about Scotland being aggressive about anything, it's like you go to a shop to buy a carrot and its like YOU WHAT? YOU WANT TO BUY A CARROT?! WELL YOU THOUGHT FKIN WRONG MATE
Didn’t know who Grant Morrison was before this but now I’m fascinated. This was totally off the rails, could never predict what the next thing to come out of his mouth would be. What an interesting guy
Gerard is seems like such an amazing friend. Like he really cares about the people in his life and values their identity and perspective. May we all strive to be like him in all our relationships
This is so amazing. Grant Morrison, I think, is the greatest comic creator ever. While Moore and Miller and alike have done their share and contributed and have done amazing things, Grant just keeps going and writing new stuff and not living off past glory.
Gerard Way got me into comics by making me realise that I didn't give a rats arse if they were for "nerdy boys", Alan Moore showed me that comics weren't only about Superheros saving the world, Neil Gaiman showed me what the art form could be at its best, and Grant Morrison helped me understand the origins of comics.
LOL oh my goodness. Grant's voice is so totally different to what i imagined it was gonna sound like....Thought he was gonna be like all doom and booming but lol!! This is awesome. Love all his cursing

So inspiring 🥺 I'm already 21 and I live a life with no passion. I am pursuing a boring career that I have no interest in. Even if I quit, I wouldn't know what to do because I have no idea what my passion is, (I'm still trying to figure out myself, trying different hobbies). I feel like I'm running out of time :(
This sounds what I did all of my 20s unfortunately. Caused by various reasons. Now I'm 36, and I've healed from a lot of stuff which helped me to develop a lot more and now I am the most happiest, content and healthy I have ever been. I'm just starting to figure out what my passions are properly. It's never too late. I'm also young at heart. ❤
I've been around MCR for a very long time. Recently I got stuck for 4 years and I've finally started rebuilding. Part of that is because I started healing but had to go back to my roots of what helped me survive 15+ years ago. I can tell you that watching Gerard Way talk about their passions and creative process has helped me so much. Idk, I just came across your comment and it touched me too. I have been stuck many times but I evolve each time.. It gets better I promise. It's painful when we are so stuck, because our inner heart is trying to figure out how to break through and change, thats why it hurts when we aren't happy with our lives; it's like the primal instinct that something isn't right. It's human 💗 you'll get better. And in my personal opinion, these interviews and all of Gee's interviews have helped me break through, I think that's why they've impacted so many of us. 💗
The question was asked to Gerard at a dark point, when he was still feeling an immediate reaction to 9/11. I do not know you but I would assume that you, like most people now, have put distance between yourself and the event. You say that you did not have profound understanding after imagining, but for you this is purely an intellectual thing. An angry young man considered it from a new perspective and it shook his festering world-view. You are not in the same circumstance to have an epiphany.
Gerard is shitting it xD like "am I gonna get a word in edge ways..." "Is he high?" "How should I act on stage?" AND GRANT is like "Fuck... a unicorn..."

I love grants laugh. he sounds so manly when he talks, and then he sounds like a prepubescent boy when he laughs. It makes me giggle.
i think it was a great decision to watch this instead of doing my homework. two amazing people.
Now when I read "Killjoys" Korse will always have an accent. Always.
Same thing with fanfiction

Art and music are two of his passions. I like how in Danger Days he combined them into one :-)
its amazing when (at around 24:30) he describes the character changing before he does, almost as if they are the same and hes just along for the ride.
Grant's laugh reminds me so much of the Riddler's laugh from the 60's tv series.
