Opeth is an incredible band, a mixture of bands from the 70s with prog metal, jazz! I can also hear Brazilian elements in their music! Incredible band!

Amorphis and opeth nailed it ... and ... in flames just this ... since a sense of purpose came out ( in my opinion there last good album) i dont recognize them anymore ... no more words needed for in flames they flame there selfs enough ...
For Me Colony wast the last good one. Then they became Linkin Park.
My personal favorite is arch enemy. But they're all great! For sure :D I enjoyed every bit of it.

In Wacken zählt eben das Ganze , das Field, die Bühnen , das Publikum vor allem, auch der Alk tut seinen Teil dazu. Jedes Jahr wieder ein absolutes Fest. Wenn dann die ein oder andere Band nicht so gut Life rüberkommt, was soll´s, nächstes Jahr wird´s besser. Das ist mein Feeling !

That's Anders for you. In Flames is one of my all-time favourite bands but he's brutal live. Can't sing at all. He gets a ton of help in the studio on albums.

Anders destroyed his voice somehow. He used to be really good, though. The last time I enjoyed his voice was 2012 and even then he sounded a bit like he was having a cold.

Gotta love Opeth in their purest form. Mikael gets on stage after a bunch of really serious metal heads and decides "EH I'm gonna just do a slide solo in the middle of "heir apparent". Overall good concert for all the bands though! Pretty nice!
Anders Friden doesn't sing in his best way in this live, but I saw them recently and they literally smashed everything...the last albums are even good though, you can't be doing the same shit for 20 years...

When I think of Melo DM, Carcass isn't a band that typically comes to mind.
They started out as a grind band, true. But then they turned to death metal and eventually to their style of melodic death metal, which can also and still be found in Amott's guitarplay in Arch Enemy.
I've never really thought of them like that. Their post Grind stuff always struck me as having more of a Death n Roll feel, not that I'm an expert on Carcass or a big fan of them. I've never had more than a passing interest in them. Though I can understand why some would label them Melo DM.
@@rphxleonine Well because they are Melodic Death Metal! You said it yourself you're not that familiar with their work, just listen to Heartwork, it's classic Melodic Death metal. Maybe because you heard Blackstar you'd say Death'n'Roll but perhaps you should listen to more of their music to actually digest their melodies...

I am 100% sure that all bands on festivals like Wacken are palying live. But there is confusing image at 12:43 - look at the big screen on the left - the sound of vocal comes out, and THEN you see her putting a microphone in front if her face. And yes, I know there are delays on those screens, but here the delay is actually against the rules of physics - a picture should be faster than a sound.

The capturing and processing of light that the camera deals with can wipe out the speed advantage. That, and editing can mess up this stuff.
Watching that point, it was probably a mix up when they tried to combine the video and audio recordings together. That, or she had a recording in the background supporting her.
They could just be trying to compensate for the delay and overcompensated.
the rules of physics don't apply here... audio size is much smaller compared to video at such high resolution

Blasphemia # I listen to death metal since the beginning of the 90’s since the Tampa until the swedish. I listened to Children of Bodom, In Flames and Gandalf. Melodic death metal is a type of death metal. THIS is not death metal. I respect the people who likes it. But this is not death metal of any kind.

No it’s not playback. It was just the screen and audio not being synced. The screen was just a bit after. You can see that at 13:23 that Alissa is head banging on stage and and the screens showing it a tiny bit later.

yeah her voice doesn't have the energy. Technically fine but feels just like lukewarm water.
About as lack luster a performance as could ever imagine from Opeth. They either dont care or just arent the same band. I'd replace 2 or 3 guys if I was Akerfeld

and that has nothing to do with live quality. The songwriting however is a matter of perspective, if you can't stand the fact that In Flames latest music isn't gothenburg melodeath anymore then you may have that opinion. If you'd enjoy it as it's own style (what it basically is) then you'll notice that their songwriting hasn't lost any touch. Also Anders clean vocals on studio records since Sounds of a Playground Fading are amazing and "Battles" is without a doubt a great album.

In flames are great live. Anders isnt. A band is more than its singer. If you want, you can check out their live from cologne where he totally nails it and sings great.

Mein Gott! In Flames ist live einfach mega schlecht! Das ist das Problem, wenn man super fette Alben mit sehr vielen Gitarrenspuren aufnimmt. Dann kann man das live einfach nicht wiedergeben. Sehr schade. Die Musik und die Alben gefallen mir eigentlich, aber live geht In Flames absolut gar nicht.
