I never expected to see a reaction to Riot either lol That whole album was excellent, way ahead of its time. I was 16 yrs old in 1981, a typical metal head. Good ol' days.
Definitely their best album. We older teenagers (17 years in 1981) got us some good Danish beer so we could play air guitar. The best regards from the Kingdom of Denmark. Up the Irons
I never expected to see a reaction to Riot either lol That whole album was excellent, way ahead of its time. I was 16 yrs old in 1981, a typical metal head. Good ol' days. I agree, this was their best ever album and singer.
The best Is THUNDERSTEEL. Mark reale was basically my stepfather. He told me his personal favorite album and song is JOHNYS BACK and THUNDERSTEEL. He personally taught me to play THUNDERSTEEL. And the guitar work is some of the most complex in metal history in my opinion. Mark reale was the NICEST kindest and sweetest man I had ever known. Nobody in this world had a pure soul like that man. He literally would Stop and buy people food randomly, give gifts to people he didn’t even know. Would go out of his way to do pretty much any and everything to help others. Dude was literally a shining example of what to be as a human. Rip mark. Shine on!
Riot is a good rabbit hole to go down. So much material spanning so many eras and styles and some of their early songs are anomalies for their time like warrior, road racing, fire down under, loan shark all songs ahead of their time
Jealous !!! If I were just a couple yrs older then probably would have caught Riot at some point. Just missed Randy Rhoads also (made it to the Speak of the Devil tour with Gillis on guitar )
I agree but they had some fierce competition back then. Every Legend band was at their peek at the same time and were getting all the attention.. AC DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard,Black Sabbath,Led Zepplin,Scorpions...the list goes on...Seems like Riot put out that Excellent classic Fire Down Under album at the worst possible time. Sad but true,,pure bad luck for them.. Then they lost Sparenza and the band fell appart.
Riot is literally the most underrated band ever, I was blown away to see a reaction on them, swords and tequila is another great one or vigilante killer
If I may, great job. Back in about 86 or 87 I went to see Riot in a 6000 seat hockey arena in Glens Falls, NY. The lineup was Riot, Scorpions, Rainbow. Riot was supposed to play 4 or 5 songs but that became an hour and a half. That good. Scorpions were fueled by the crowd Riot woke up and they had 3 or 4 encores. Rainbow started at closing time so to speak and I got home about 4AM. All three bands went into we are jamming no matter what anyone says. For the fans. Nobody looked at their watch once.
Riot was way ahead of their time! It is really very sad to hear what happened to that band. Absolutely one of the best hard rock albums of all time! Guy Speranza's vocals are AWESOME! The whole band kicks ass!
Yes, it was the best album they ever made. No other even comes close, It was way ahead of its time for sure and possibly the most underrated albums of all time.
100% dudes were ahead of the curve, if they coulda tapped into Metallicas sound because those rythems in the back are sawing away hard enough to rival Hetfield, they might have even stole their spotlight.
Yes, it was the best album they ever made. No other album they made even comes close in my opinion. It was way ahead of its time and I think is the most underrated rock album of all time.
Love this whole album. Glad y’all covered this song. Swords and Tequila was the one that got radio play from this album. Check it out soon. Love you guys
Growing up as a teen in the 1980's. Riot's "Outlaw" is one of my all time favorite hard rock songs. Freakin' AWESOME album too! And it still is to this day!
A favorite when it came out before I was a teenager. Years later 'The Privilege Of Power'. Another favorite album. BTW R.I.P. Mark Reale. He was the heart of this band.
Got to see them at (I believe only outdoor Oregon Jam) in Salem OR at the state fairgrounds. Black Sabbath, Molly Hatchet, Blue Oyster Cult and Riot. Pretty sure it was 1979 lol I’m old. My buddy & I were in Jr High. 8th graders, the walls of VW sized speakers was incredible. It was so loud, those of you who know that area. They had cars pulling over 10-12 blocks away. Plus some on I-5. You could hear it 😎 What a heck of a concert.
Another Underground Classic of an American Heavy Metal Band in this we have Blue Öyster Cult, Sir Lord Baltimore, Starz, Bang, Angel. At least BÖC and Riot played the UK to save them.
Bought this when it came out in 1981. Definitely one of the top 10 classic hard rock albums ever. Nice song but isn't even close to being the best on the album. Hugely underachieved after this album right when it should have catapulted them forward. Typical self-inflicted rock 'n' roll band damage. Title track and Swords and Tequila are 2 others to try from this album.
Riot got their big break in San Antonio Texas the band has mentioned it in interviews where a local DJ named Joe Anthony discovered them and started giving them airplay on the radio at 99.5 Kiss fm, They even wrote a song called San Antonio, I had the pleasure of seeing them live in concert in San Antonio at the Texas theater with supporting band Budgie and got to meet the lead guitarist Mark Reale in the parking lot cool dude RIP
I'm from the Era... I never heard RIOT till a couple of years ago...SO GLAD YOU 2 got to hear them. They are the PERFECT EXAMPLE.. I mean PERFECT EXAMPLE of Early early 80s what I call Late Night Street Rock... This is what it was ALL About... The TRUE INTERNET... TAKE ME BACK.. That's right. We used to go. OUTSIDE...AT NIGHT...
For twenty years, this was my favorite album from Riot. In the last decade I switched to Narita. They both are great but to me Narita is a little more raw.
Riot is one of my favorite early metal bands of all time, but you guys should definitely take a listen to Thundersteel for Riot at the height of their powers. Full on speed metal with the best vocalist they ever had.
I respect your opinion. For me, "Fire Down Under" was the best album Riot ever made. No other even comes close, It was way ahead of its time and possibly the most underrated album and singer(Sparenza) of all time.
Thank you for watching!! We have merch! Check it out! teespring.com/stores/the-wolf-hunterz-merch
Holy crap I never expected to see a reaction to Riot! Fire Down Under is their best!
I never expected to see a reaction to Riot either lol That whole album was excellent, way ahead of its time. I was 16 yrs old in 1981, a typical metal head. Good ol' days.
Agree! Riot's "Fire Down Under" album is their best hard rock album. All the songs are good!

The best Is THUNDERSTEEL.

Together with Y&T, Accept this band blew out everyone in that time!!
Yes it is! Fire Down Under is their BEST album. The songs in that album are absolutely awesome! Very under rated band.
One of the best hard rock bands of the 80s, definitely a killer album!!!
And that album came out in 1981 they were too heavy before their time. The whole album is a metal masterpiece
I saw Riot live twice. Opening for Black Sabbath in 1980 and opening for Rush in 1981
Jealous !!! If I were just a couple yrs older then probably would have caught Riot at some point. Just missed Randy Rhoads also (made it to the Speak of the Devil tour with Gillis on guitar )
The whole album is amazing and it should launched them into superstardom.
I agree but they had some fierce competition back then. Every Legend band was at their peek at the same time and were getting all the attention.. Listen to their remake of racing with the devil on a Spanish highway. It'll blow your mind
Favorite Riot song!
Loud in a car driving down the road is amazing!

This whole album was great. Reminds me when I was 12. I wore the letters off of this cassette tape!
Riot was an awesome band from NYC. Now called riot 5. They rock their butts off.
A favorite when it came out before I was a teenager. Years later 'The Privilege Of Power'. Another favorite album. BTW R.I.P. Mark Reale. He was the heart of this band.

Best Hard Rock Album you never Heard! Narita is Killer too!

Actually, Outlaw is my favorite from this album, but you're right: it's a classic with a lot of great tracks!

Riot is one of my favorite early metal bands of all time, but you guys should definitely take a listen to Thundersteel for Riot at the height of their powers. Full on speed metal with the best vocalist they ever had.
TMH is more staple tho Tony was more intense
I respect your opinion. For me, "Fire Down Under" was the best album Riot ever made. No other even comes close, It was way ahead of its time and possibly the most underrated album and singer(Sparenza) of all time.
