      +MElekiaZ The price, insurance costs, more subtle styling, and though I have nothing against Hondas (or Civics), they tend to be driven by chavs (not all in the slightest, but 90% of Civic drivers I see where I am wear the most disgusting snapbacks and have the most hideous modifications. :P

      +nigel woods I bought mine. Although I bought a 172 Phase 2 which so far has cost a lot of money to run but I'm getting close to a point where the repairs have finally come to an end for a bit of peace for a bit. It's the most fun I have ever had driving. Take one of these out on a B road for the time of your life in the summertime. Never gets old. Added a KTR exhaust to mine too, which is great!...Amazing car.

    Got a clio last year with a 1.6 16v motor, with some mostly aesthethic mods, it's not an 172 or 182 but still falling in love with it every day, even thought we don't have many places where you can push it to the edge here where since the maximum speed limit is 100 Km/h i live, it takes alot of smiles everytime i drive it 🤘😀🤘

    Car Throttle Nice video, only thing I would correct you on (as a fellow 182 owner), is that the 5K kick is nothing to do with the VVT (which actually kicks in at a lot lower revs), its to do with the stock map. If you RSTuner you car, it will smooth this out by boosting what is actually a sub 5K dip. :)

    I have a 400hp evo, now gonna buy a clio rs172 for a fun car to go hillruns, the track and daily. The evo is sometimes just too quick and put you thru dangerous speeds when going for hillruns and the track, you are just feeling too tense to enjoy the car and adrenaline pumps up a lot instead actually enjoying driving.

      Celica gts, corolla xrs, corolla compressor, each of those has 175 - 190hp, they are light and handle great, and the compressor has 220hp. Then there are the 20v corollas, which are just behind in power but make up for it in lack of wieght, plus 6 speed. The mid 90s celica had options from n/a 150hp, 200hp, and turbo awd 240-265hp. Then there is a starlet, or a starlet powered tercel, with a boost controller 16psi 200hp stock everything else in a car that weighs 2000lbs - 2300lbs. Instant spool and rolling on the throttle will break tires lose with an lsd. All of the above have lsd options. He has a 2l with 175hp? That's an underwhelmed 2l.

    • @King_Ears
      @King_Ears 7 років тому +2

      182 has a slightly wider track. The extra 10 bhp is gained through the use of a 4-2-1 manifold and different exhaust system instead of a 4-1 manifold on the 172.
      Had a 182 and it was awesome. If I end up getting another it'll be a 172 cup as it's the lightest of the bunch (less toys and thinner glass) and doesn't have abs or esp.
      The 182 trophy is nice but the posh sachs remote reservoir dampers require refurbing every once in a while which isn't cheap, plus they're very expensive to replace if needed.

    It's funny how so many people are buying German hot hatches like the amg a45s now. Incredibly dull, no involvement. Missing out on cars that are involving like this. My friend has an amg a45 and it's forever going back to the dealership. I laugh that people still think German cars are reliable. Every car I see broken down is German. It's like the iPhone. Just think it's great as it's expensive and good for their status but in fact it pretty rubbish.

      Problem is these little cars lack the top end of US cars, for example a Corvette of Camaro will cruise at 150mph no problem, this Clio will only do 137 and run out of puff, where as US cars will do 200 easy

    ive got a 182 cup, tad lighter than the one above. had it for the last 6 years they really are bargain of the century plus 40 mpg.But at £13500 for a 140mph car when new Mr Renault cut some big corners, mines now on its third set of brakes anything that lasts 50000 miles on any other car only lasts 30000 on the little clio!!!

      Brakes are comsumables lol three sets is nothing on a car that age plus thses cars dont tend to get driven bye a granny, hence you wear through discs and pads quicker. Same for any car really.

    The Renault Sport Clio 2 RS, all versions phase 1 (2000-2001) or 2 (2001-2004) or 3 (2004-2006), or how beat (for one example ^^) a Honda Type R on roads and tracks (and more the road or the track will be tortuous more this is the case) with a car 2-3 times cheaper than an Honda Type R on the used car market :-)

      Don't speak about that you don't know. You are not in your movie or in your dreams but in the real life there. My Clio 2 RS1 is more of 15 years old now, he run all the month in trackdays and it is not to walk, 165,000 km in this regime, and it is 100% full stock engine since its birth. its cost is not highter than a Honda Type R by the way and by far ! Especially in Europe and in France where its parts are easy to find !!! PS : And I have a second Renault, for everydays, which run everyday in the city and for my job, a little ^^ Super5 Five 1991, 25 years old, 1.1L CLEON engine, indestructible with his training in chain, 250,000 km and 100% full stock except, the cylinder head gasket, 4 motor candles, a hose of the cooling system and the two front suspension in 25 years... So yes stop your joke and speak about that you know but not about your dreams or your stereotypes from noobs...
