The comments about the kid at the ice cream place reminds me of a tims my grandma and i went to maccas and we didnt have much money and our ebt was out for another 2 weeks
And we were looking for something affordable but filling (for the entire day 11ish to 6ish because we didnt have much food at home) and my grandma told to cashier what we were looking for and this kind amazing woman gave us a combo of like two burgers n 20 nuggets for less than the screen price, comped our drinks, and absolutely would not accept our little coins when she saw us counting up some small change for an apple pie.
She was the sweetest cashier ive ever come into contact with in maccas and i hope shes doing well.

That story with the mom and the preteens (particularly the comment saying the parents tend to be worse) reminds me of this one time i went to a GameStop i frequently visit and the poor guy behind the counter was dealing with a customer who didn't understand that GameStop would not set up their console for them, and I was getting close to telling the guy off before he eventually left after the clerk pointed out there was another customer patiently waiting (me). As I was leaving, I said that i hoped he didn't have anymore customers like that as a mom with two young boys came in
I forget what the mom said, but when I came back a few days later (I like coming in often to see what preowned stuff is available), the clerk said the mom had been worse than the kids
