  • There's a lot of talk about red light therapy and lasers for treating pain and injuries lately. This video explains the differences between red light therapy and low level laser (LLLT - non thermal lasers) in this respect. Both have the ability to initiate photobiomodulation-- the ability of light photons to affect biological processes, such as in photosynthesis and Vitamin D production. In this case, studies show light in certain wavelengths of red can have beneficial effects on tissue healing by action on ATP production and inflammatory pathways. But lasers have an advantage, due to the collimated, coherent nature of laser produced photons.
