I feel like I've stepped into an alternate universe and an alternate 1980's universe version of Yes. Goosebumps and hairs standing on end. Just like in the old days when a new Yes album was released, the first listen was good, the second was better and after the third, you're hooked! Considering the audio is subpar at best, it's still damn good. I'm sooo looking forward to hearing the entire studio album.
Such a perfect mix in the spirit of 70's Yes and 80's Yes ( Big Generator) with a modern update that is extraordinary. Jon Anderson is on his game and The Band Geeks are some of the best musicians on the planet. They've been fans of Yes, like....forever. I can't wait for this new album to drop. Amazing!!!!

The power of this song is so 70s & 80s Yes, but its what he brought out of this band which proves the power and talent of Anderson. He has not lost a step. This is the rebirth of classic prog. It's just as great as I anticipated! The Band Geeks RULE! Christopher Clark is a madman! Tom Brislin (who played with Yes on the Magnification tour and is the keyboardist for Kansas) was allegedly in attendance and I have to believe he heartily approved! 🤘🔥
It would make sense that Tom Brislin would be there, this show was in New Brunswick NJ, Tom is from the area, Before he played with Yes he was in a local band Spiraling that played in and around the New Brunswick area.....and don't forget he also was in Renaissance for awhile before joining Kansas

Oh man this is great! The Geeks are superb musicians and talented in their own right, and Jon gives it the spirit of YESter-year. Back when every month there were a dozen new albums of phenomenal music being released. Has anyone ever looked at all the recordings that were released in 1972 & 1973? It’s hard to fathom compared to today. I’ll be at the Hershey, PA…can’t wait!

god damn, this is great. got those Patrick Moraz-esque moog sounds and lines alongside Tony Kaye esque Hammond Organ stuff, and the Rick Wakeman type piano bits, and even has some stuff reminiscent of Geoff Downes (which I know Jon wasn;t in Yes at that point) with those 80s-ish sounding almost E-mu Emulator sample type bits, like the stuff on Drama, really great, proper Yes, not like Steve's "Steve Howe and the replacements".

If I'm not mistaken, Jon mentioned in an interview a few years ago that he had some songs ready for one last Yes album, with the hope of eventually recording them with Steve and Rick. I wonder if this is one of those songs.
He did record a song with Rick and Trevor back in 2018 or so. Jon and Steve will never work together again unfortunately. By the way the song Trevor, Jon and Rick wrote is better than this song.
From this day on, everything in my life is going to sound different than it did yesterday… There is a new threshold…a new reference point. Thank you Mr Anderson for birthing this.

Audio quality did allow for intelligibility of the lyrics, so hard to judge the totality of the songwriting if one doesn't know what he is singing...but...the energy and that undefinable quality that makes Yes music Yes music is there. So looking forward to seeing them live in Nashville in July and to the new album release. Curious to know if the band members participated in the writing of any of the new material.
Jon Anderson is the hub of the YES wheel, the others are the spokes. You can interchange or even replace the spokes but if you change the hub, you no longer have YES. This is YES 2024. Light years better than any new YES music since Magnification.
I'm with you there...but the “From a Page” EP (recorded in 2010) is surely an exception. That is a moving collection of songs, with Benoit David singing in his own style. The songs were mostly written by Oliver Wakeman (who was originally chosen for the 40th anniversary tour, before Jon fell ill). Go in with an open mind and you may grow to love it like I have. ✌️
These guys get the trick to sounding like Yes: Everybody plays way too much, but they take turns doing it so the music usually doesn't get impossibly cluttered.
Lots of musical playfulness and inventiveness. Difficult to hear the instrumental detail here, but this sounds like it could be a successor to Talk, which is fine by me.
From what I have read/heard, there is from prog song on the new album that will sound more like Fragile and CTTE era Yes. Prefer Shine On this track, but only heard this audience phone recording once. Not a fair comparison.
