Shadow Circus
Приєднався 7 вер 2006
Shadow Circus are a dark progressive hard rock band based in the U.S. The band was founded by guitarist /songwriter John Fontana and singer/lyricist David Bobick in 2006. Their most recent lineup includes former members of Devin Townsend Project (drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen) and Pain of Salvation/Meshuggah (Gustaf Hielm). The name was inspired by the Ray Bradbury novel Something Wicked This Way Comes, which portrayed a dark, supernatural circus.
Combining metal, prog, and shock rock, their lyrics are often inspired by horror, dark fantasy, and inner life experiences portrayed through macabre story telling.
Their most recent album, From the Shadows, marks a new era for the band. After a decade-long hiatus, the album finds the band rejuvenated by an all-star lineup, elevated musicianship, and a powerful, evolved new sound.

Guitar Solo - Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2

One of the most fun and challenging solos, and one of my favorites to play! The technique behind David Gilmour's deceptively simple-sounding style can be as challenging and take as much (or more) practice than the fastest shred solos, especially the precision his bends demand (and which I am still working on!)

Short and sweet version without the long acoustic intro. Also, this video does not contain any disturbing imagery of the story of the Piper that is in the original unedited version.

One of my favorite guitar solos of all time, this is so much fun to play! I've been waiting for the right time to sit down and really learn it, and with the new Shadow Circus album finished, it's nice to take some time to just work on my playing. as always, my covers aren't perfect, they're just meant for fun and personal development. Hope you enjoy it!
Second Star to the Right Guitar Solo Playthrough

One of my favorite solos to play from the new album. in fact, after I came up with this, we went back and redid all of the solos we had done so far, this one set the standard. Featuring the legendary Ryan Van Poederooyen on drums, Gustaf Hielm on bass, and David Bobick on lead vocals. The title is quote from Peter Pan, the song is about the desire to live youthfully, to forgive and let go of re...

Bassist Gustaf Hielm (Pain of Salvation, Meshuggah) gives us a tour of the studio where he recorded bass for the new Shadow Circus album, From the Shadows. Here in the U.S., we struggle with the metric system, but I'm pretty sure the studio is actually smaller than the bass.

Feels so good listening to this❤Love Jon🎉
From this day on, everything in my life is going to sound different than it did yesterday… There is a new threshold…a new reference point. Thank you Mr Anderson for birthing this.
From what I have read/heard, there is from prog song on the new album that will sound more like Fragile and CTTE era Yes. Prefer Shine On this track, but only heard this audience phone recording once. Not a fair comparison.
I want to hear the studio version.
Totally ready for the new Jon Anderson record.
This is the answer to YES
Great to see the master making awesome YES music again with this incredibly talented band The new YES has arrived well done Jon hope you keep this outfit together and keep making brilliant new music together ❤
A really great musician. A musical workaholic. This song is a 100 % Yes! Jon Anderson is Yes! At almost 80 still on stage with this power: RESPECT, RESPECT, RESPECT! 👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Is that one of those Fender guitars that they only made for a few years?
I hope they play Close to the Edge. 😊❤
Amazing, I love the band geeks and Jon together. Very close to the real thing, if not better.
Band Geeks and Jon sounding awesome 🔥🎉🎆...What a great band! So many influences, it's so good!
Haha, awesome 👍 def a 70s flashback for me. Great to hear the instrumentals.
it's too bad Jon's really flowery with everything in later years. Love to get an album from them with some really hard edgy shit and overlapping solos.
Boy I LOVE this! I love Yes, I love the Band Geeks, and now I'm super pumped for the new stuff!
Andy the drummer is killing it!!!
OMG. Just freaking awesome! I hope they put out a cd.
Jon is still making great music! It’s hard to believe he’ll soon be 80. God bless you, Mr. Anderson! 🙏
The Once and Future YES.
These guys get the trick to sounding like Yes: Everybody plays way too much, but they take turns doing it so the music usually doesn't get impossibly cluttered.
Jon Anderson always picks excellent musicians to work with
Why cannot Yes fans see just how awful That band has become as a live unit ! They have no passion no desire just a collective of underperforming musicians all in one band.
Big generator meets star castle meets Drama.
I got legit Yes goosebumps when the acoustic guitar came in! Go Jon! Can't wait to see this show twice this summer. With Carl Palmer opening for one of them!
Such a perfect mix in the spirit of 70's Yes and 80's Yes ( Big Generator) with a modern update that is extraordinary. Jon Anderson is on his game and The Band Geeks are some of the best musicians on the planet. They've been fans of Yes, like....forever. I can't wait for this new album to drop. Amazing!!!!
🙌🙌👏👏
❤🎵👏🙌
Woah !
The ENERGY is perfectly YES!!!!!!!
Yeah!
This sounds like what should have been on the next album to Relayer if Moraz would have stopped
Jon and guys of band Geeks Thanks for being ... YES ❤ 🙏☀️
❤❤❤
Great band! I think they're way better than Steve Howe's bogus "Yes"
Sounds oddly like a mix of Banks-era and Rabin-era Yes. I like it.
Hey Howe Yes Band. Step back the master has returned. HOLY CRAP!!!!!! HAHAHAHA.
At 1:10 when THE Voice of Yes comes in ... Perfect :)
New Classic Yes. Flashbacks of Relayer. Bloody brilliant! Are you listening, Steve Howe?
YES!!! (Back from the dead)
I feel like I've stepped into an alternate universe and an alternate 1980's universe version of Yes. Goosebumps and hairs standing on end. Just like in the old days when a new Yes album was released, the first listen was good, the second was better and after the third, you're hooked! Considering the audio is subpar at best, it's still damn good. I'm sooo looking forward to hearing the entire studio album.
I THINK I like it? HAHA but can't hear it clearly here enough to be sure!
Holy moly, this just made my day. THIS is Yes.
astounding
Awesome! That's what I'm talking about!!❤
Holy Cow, this is insane! So good. 🔥❤️
unbelievable. sounds a little like rtf the magician
Such an electric performance of the “yes” that I remember seeing in the past. Keep the energy going guys! Thanks for bringing your musical light to the world!
Jon Anderson is the hub of the YES wheel, the others are the spokes. You can interchange or even replace the spokes but if you change the hub, you no longer have YES. This is YES 2024. Light years better than any new YES music since Magnification.
I'm with you there...but the “From a Page” EP (recorded in 2010) is surely an exception. That is a moving collection of songs, with Benoit David singing in his own style. The songs were mostly written by Oliver Wakeman (who was originally chosen for the 40th anniversary tour, before Jon fell ill). Go in with an open mind and you may grow to love it like I have. ✌️
Im liking this better than the new music by Yes
Sounds a bit more like Flash/Peter Banks to me . . . but that's not a bad thing! Really looking forward to seeing these guys!
