    If you prefer an outdoor antenna, Tyler the Antenna Man offers recommendations through his website. If you mention Michael Saves in your email with Tyler, he will refund you $10. Here is his website: antennamanpa.com/index.html

      I listened to everything Tyler said. I'm in a end unit townhouse but the windows point in the wrong direction. The flat antennae is mounted at a very shallow angle to point toward the many broadcast transmitters in downtown Chicago about 30 miles away.

    The Channel Master Flatenna is a very good flat antenna too. I live in Chicago, and it pulled in 75 channels with no amplifier, and it pulled in all of the local stations. And the signal strength is at 100%, and the signal quality has never fell below 90% on any station.

    Hi Michael, thanks for the great review! We're thrilled to hear that the Mohu Leaf Plus is working so well for you at your location. Shoot us a message and we can send you the Hook and Loop tabs and push pins, sorry to hear those didn't come in your shipment. Thanks for spreading the word about cutting the cord, you can save $2400 a year on average canceling pay TV.

    I have to shamefully admit for my reason to purchase a antenna, it was because I’m ahead of my friends when we watch sports. One of them has cable and in one of your older videos you said that antenna was closer to the live even *which is true* so, I bought my antenna for that reason I watched sports on stream sites which have many latency’s which made the view experience bad for me and my friends. Beautiful review Mike, have a fantastic day!

    Michael, great video!! (You get 120 OTA channels?! Wow) Like your first commenter, I have the Mohu Curve too and man, I love it. No need to hang, it sits on a glass shelf directly below my tv. It's only a couple feet from the floor, but since I live in a high-rise apartment building I guess the antenna is actually pretty high up. I don't think theyre sold as widely as the Leaf, I found mine on Best buy. I live within a 10 mile range of my towers and get 48 channels. But I swear, they look better than cable. I have to say, before I got the Curve, I bought one of those mohu wall lookalikes from Amazon and it was inexpensive, but was also a piece of crap. I got exactly two channels with it. Lastly, I sometimes have to swivel mine a little to the right or left for the ABC Network which is the furthest away, but only if it's raining or snowing. Again, great video. 🙂👍👍👍👍

    I bought a cheap Amazon flat antenna with a skinny cable and amplifier and it works almost, but not all the time. I picked up a much more expensive flat Clearstream antenna. It was larger with thicker cable and looked to be better constructed. Reception was exactly the same so I returned it. I tried my cheapo antenna on a friend’s tv who is closer to the broadcast antennas and her results were even better. There’s no remarkable technology here. They’re just bow tie or circular antennas sandwiched in plastic. Bottom line, if your blessed with good signal, you’ll be happy. If you’re not, your out of luck. Almost all the flat antennas get 4/5 stars. Most people are satisfied, while the minority curse them. It’s not the brand of flat antenna so much as the signal quality and strength in your area. You likely need a better outdoor antenna well located if one of these things don’t work.

    I have the Mohu curve. The closest tower is 42 miles away. Sticking it behind the tv doesn't work, it has to be on a table near the window. What I like about Mohu is they give you thick cable unlike the cheap antennas with the thin cable. I also use a Hdhomerun so I can watch on any device.

    I installed a Mohu Indoor Antenna in the attic (with thumb tacks) of my new house and was shocked that the signal strength is the same as my huge Channel Master antenna. I don't understand how that could be. (About 30 miles from the stations). The Mohu is extremely directional though, so aim it with a signal meter if possible. I used a Wyze cam aimed at the TV, in signal strength mode and watched it through my phone in the attic - makes aiming very easy. (just aim it at your weakest channel).

    My Mohu won’t pick anything up in my location. Actually even a rooftop antenna won’t pick up any Los Angeles tv stations. I live in Simi Valley and Mount Wilson towers are not accessible with all the mountain ranges in the way

    • @MichaelSaves
      @MichaelSaves  2 роки тому

      Yeah, the mountains here are tough for antennas. At least in LA most of the TV stations have apps that you can download to watch news, and Hulu Basic is good for entertainment shows the day after they air.

  • @reinilla

    I tried numerous indoor antenas, the thing is when a channel has no signal, it makes the other channels stop working and when I switch to netflix or prime tv or UA-cam, those apps don't work in the TV, so I have to disconnect the TV so I can have the signal back.
    Do you know why that happens?
    Sincerely,

    No matter what flat indoor antenna that I get, certain channels just don't show up, like The CW for instance. It seems as if the only way to get that channel is either with a rooftop antenna (which our landlord will not go for) or go back to cable. Eventually, over-the-air streaming may really become a "thing".

    Mohu is one of those companies that needs to trim its project line - they have WAY too many choices! They've got at least 10 different versions of the Mohu leaf - PLUS the Mohu Gateway, the Mohu Gateway PLUS, the Mohu Arc, the Mohu Arc PRO, the Mohu Ultimate, the Mohu Supreme.. and MORE!!! Enough already! Too many choices with not enough distinction between the choices! For example, which product is better - the Mohu Ulimate or the Mohu Supreme? Both products boast of excellent reception and both have a range of 65 miles! Which one does the customer choose? NOBODY KNOWS!!!

    Soo … can’t you just watch live local TV channels on a streaming app like Philo or Pluto ? I’m just trying to understand the logic of getting an antenna. And isn’t like watching old school TV where you have to watch the stations live when the shows air without the option to DVR or pause ?

    • @MichaelSaves
      @MichaelSaves  Рік тому

      Local channels are not on Philo or Pluto. Yes, it's like watching old school TV -- ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. Some people get a physical DVR (I have a Tablo) that lets them DVR the local channels. Here's an explainer of the local situation: ua-cam.com/video/s_GGi-1DTsM/v-deo.html

    You don’t need one Mohu per TV. Buy a Tablo. Hook it to your internet. Connect the Tablo to the antenna. The tv channels will be broadcast over your internet to all of your TV’s using a app.

      As long as you don’t mind it taking 11 seconds to channel surface between stations with a 2022 4k Roku streaming stick. Not acceptable. I split my antenna signal. The Tablo for recording and also directly into the tv tuner for channel surfing. I wish the Tablo didn’t have its delay in converting the signal.
