Denon DR-M22 First look. What faults await me?

I just picked up one of these for FREE.
Sounds great so far, only thing is the unit won't yet REW/FF..
So hopefully that isn't too difficult to fix.
Really cool features like Bios, and monitor controls.

3 head, tape/source, dual capstan. Gives the best chance of great sound.

Just clean the idler wheel tyres, or possible replace if they are cracked or perished. Also treat the rubber parts with rubber restorer.

I ordered belts for my drm 740 from Germany both for about €10 on Ebay I only managed to change the small belt which was the main issue. Did you clean the playing heads?!

nice video, have a try demagnetize the head. its common think on tape cassette decks

I agree that one should demagnetise the heads. I may not mention it but I de-mag every tape deck before doing anything. I don't want to ruin any tapes I put in them.

Hi , I don't know if you have Aztronics shops in your state , but you can order individual belts by their size from them .

Not in vic. I have a lot of belts from china in assorted sizes which I could use. It's not high on my list atm. The belts in all my Denons are working fine, just would be nice to eventually get proper ones.
