Idk if you noticed, but another fun fact about this song is that mirabels part where she goes "you just seemed like your life's been a dream since the moment you opened your eyes" has the same melody as Isabela's part in We Don't Talk About Bruno. There's a couple of times they do stuff like this in the soundtrack and it's very neat musically and thematically/symbolically for the plot/relationships.
Yeah I noticed that and I was like omg! All of the songs connect in a sense. It’s so cool!

Compare her singing voice from "we don't talk about bruno" as the typical disney princess voice (high pitched, soft, etc.), and then this where she's being her true self and letting out her true voice.

Fun Fact: Lin said he used the 90s Rock en Español era as inspiration for this song!!! 😊 And he absolutely killed it!!! Diane Guerrero surprised me, I had no idea she had these pipes!!!

@@Crying2Death I honestly had no idea she could sing this well lol I've seen her in so many things as the preppy, bitchy, perfect little pretty friend and she said she tried to stay away from that and then BOOM! Isabela happens 😂 but I loved her as her!!!! You're absolutely right. It fits her so well!!!
She is a good singer, which is why I am so mad Doom Patrol cut out a song she sang for on the, she sang Fever by Peggy Lee.. fully filmed it and the scene has never seen the light of day...

Actually, this song sounds like Shakira's songs in The 90s
Encanto is like frozen, it was an instant hit, kids love it, and the songs are on repeat in practically every house in the world! The only diffrence? Well, I highly doubt anybody will get tired of listening to songs like THIS!
There is one difference tho. It had really bad Marketing. Where i lived no one know it even existed. Kinda sad as it is really amazing.
I mean everyone gets tired after listening it for so long. That doesn't mean it's a bad song.
@@Javajavajav Yeah this movie is amazing. Best Disney songs I heard in a long while, by far the best 3d animation from the Disney movie. The problem is that I didn't have any idea it came out or that it ever existed. Never saw a single ad on TV or anywhere else.

It's interesting to note that the melody at 3:12 is from Isabella's verse in "We Don't Talk About Bruno". A lot of leitmotifs are reused throughout the movie, such as "Dos Oruguitas" appearing in Abuela's verse of "The Family Madrigal". Plus "All Of You" is basically a big melting pot for all these melodies.

It’s so amazing how Lin’s musical skills came into play with this! For on-stage musicals, this is always the case where songs melodies reused to tie the story in together- if ever you guys are into it, you can check out what he did with Non-Stop (Hamilton) which is what I think is the most similar to what he did with We Don’t Talk About Bruno! :)

At first it bothered me how Mirabelle's voice is almost overshadowed by Isabella's in the start of the song but now I realise that it was a purposeful choice and symbolises how Mirabelle feels so overshadowed by her sister but by the halfway point Mirabelle is matching her sister showing how she finally feels equal to her.

might I add, I love the little detail of Isabella's vocalizations (the 'woooaah' s) when Mirabel is singing. It alludes to 'woe' (sorrow or distress) over the acted out perfect image she wants to break free off while Mirabel is singing about how she had only ever viewed Isabella as the perfect flower sprouting beauty.... then that background vocalization stops as soon as Mirabel becomes encouraging and mentions how great it is to see Isabella go beyond those constraints.

Lin said for this song he was inspired by Shakira's 90's rock songs, I recommend you to listen to 'Pies descalzos' and ''Estoy aquí''. Disney did such an amazing job researching Colombian culture for this movie.

I think in an interview, Lin Manuel Miranda said he wrote this song as inspired by the 90’s rock en español movement. Absolutely genius composition.

The Rock Elements are because this song is heavily inspired in the "Rock En Español" movement that was very popular in South America 15-25 years ago

I don't know about the rest of South America, but in Argentina 90's rock was very different, we called it Rock Nacional. The type of rock in this song is definitely inspired by Shakira
Actually, it was very popular all over the Spanish speaking world. I am from Central America and I grew up with Rock en Español in the 80s and 90s.

"I owe this song to you!" Is my favorite part, its so genetic and adorable. Isabela and Mirabel always disliked each other and getting to know each other was the best part of their sisterhood. So when she said that and hugged her, they were automatically my favorite sisters ever within Disney history.

Nah Luisa and Mirabel are adorable together. Luisa's whole song shows her being under pressure but also throughout she is keeping her baby sister safe and even stops to fix her glasses. The Madrigal sisters are adorable. All three are so fun together. I really relate to Isabela and Luisa both have struggled and been under incredible stress their whole lives but both protect their sister because they love her. Isabela might be frustrated but she still pulls her up to stand with her during the song, she can see that mirabel was the cause of her seeing how she didn't need to restrict herself.

I really like this man, the way he reacts to the song it's very intelligent and not just he highlights the breakdown of the instruments but the message of the song also

That key change at the end was probably to accommodate Maribel’s lower octave range but it sounds amazing regardless

I love that you did a series on Encanto! Lin Manuel Miranda directed his first movie Tic Tic Boom that was released on Netflix last year. I would really enjoy you reacting to a song from the movie "Come to Your Senses" sung by Alexandra Shipp and Vanessa Hudgens. It's such a great song and the two vocalists have such incredible chemistry! No pressure, just a recommendation.

This song's animation was designed to be a large half-time show. If you notice behind Isabella, the wall of flowers starts matching her movements like a jumbotron and she gets a mic and a stage (palm tree) later.

What i like about your videos is that you give the comentary and analysis during the reaction. A lot of reaction channels will watch the video without saying a lot and then talk about it afterwards. I absolutely love "What Else Can I Do?" It inspires someone who's not being true to themselves. The lines are really smooth, Like me. I wasn't being true to myself because of other people's. I was so sick of following what I should do that i did the things I wanted to see. I always listen to it because it reminds me you don't have to follow someone's footprints just to see your perfect reflection. Your bright mind has its own perfect way
